Newcastle United finally picked up their first away victory of the season in style with a thumping victory over Everton! After Jordan Pickford made a very early save, Newcastle found themselves in front from the resulting corner as Malick Thiaw scored to make it 1-0 after just 52 seconds! In the 25th minute, Lewis Miley made it 2-0 after a poor mistake by Jordan Pickford, whilst it was 3-0 going into halftime thanks to a clever finish by Nick Woltemade! Everton’s defensive play is absolutely shocking! Early in the second half, Everton came close to getting one back as Carlos Alcaraz’s effort lashed back off the crossbar, before it was soon 4-0 to the visitors as Malick Thiaw scored another headed goal! The cross from Lewis Hall was superb! Thierno Barry then had a goal ruled out for handball during the build-up, but Everton were at least able to get one back courtesy of a nice bit of play by Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall! In the end, this was a terrible day for Everton! The Toffees drop to 14th in the table, and they head to Bournemouth next time out! As for Newcastle United, this is just what they needed! The Magpies rise to 13th place, and their next game is a big one at home to Tottenham tomorrow!

Manchester City 3-2 Leeds

The early and late show from Phil Foden was enough for Manchester City to survive as Leeds United suffered more heartbreak! After just 60 seconds, Manchester City already had the lead as Phil Foden’s effort went in off the crossbar! Foden then had another good chance to score, but his effort was blocked well by James Justin, before Man City had their second goal of the game through Josko Gvardiol! However, just 4 minutes into the second half, Leeds had a goal back as Dominic Calvert-Lewin scored after a horrendous bit of defending by Matheus Nunes! Things then got worse for City as Gvardiol fouled Calvert-Lewin in the box, allowing Lukas Nmecha to step up and take a penalty to make it 2-2! Now, I should say that Gianluigi Donnarumma actually saved the initial penalty, but Nmecha was able to follow up on the rebound! But then, in the 91st minute, Phil Foden finished superbly to snatch a late winner for Manchester City! Overall, Manchester City just about survived in this one! City rise to second in the league, and they head to Fulham tomorrow night! As for Leeds United, it’s another gutting defeat for them! The Whites remain inside the Relegation Zone (in 18th), and they host Chelsea next time out!

Sunderland 3-2 Bournemouth

Despite being 2-0 down, Sunderland AFC came back from behind to pick up a great win over a reeling AFC Bournemouth! After Evanilson hit the post, Amine Adli followed up on the rebound to give Bournemouth the lead inside 7 minutes! Just 8 minutes later, Bournemouth had a second as Tyler Adams scored from about 40 yards out in what will probably turn into a highlight reel goal for years to come! However, after Alex Scott fouled Reinildo in the penalty area, Enzo Le Fee stepped up and scored to get Sunderland back into the game on the 30th-minute mark! What a penalty! Right at the start of the second half, it was 2-2 as Bertrand Traore equalised after a clever pass from Granit Xhaka, before Bournemouth would’ve been back in front just 2 minutes later had it not been for Evanilson tapping it home from 2 yards out whilst being in an offside position! What a terrible error this was! In the 69th minute, Sunderland’s comeback was complete as Brian Brobbey headed home to give the hosts a 3-2 lead! Marcus Tavernier then came close to equalising for Bournemouth as his effort came crashing back off the crossbar, before Lewis Cook was shown a straight red card in stoppage time for swinging an elbow at Noah Sadiki! Overall, what a dramatic win for Sunderland AFC! The Black Cats rise to 6th in the league, and their next game is a big one away at Liverpool! As for AFC Bournemouth, they should never have lost this game! The Cherries drop to 11th in the table, and they host Everton next time out!

Brentford 3-1 Burnley

A dramatic final 10 minutes resulted in Brentford securing another home win at the expense of a struggling Burnley! Nathan Collins had a great chance to give Brentford the lead early on, but he poorly missed the target from just a few yards out, before Hannibal Mejbri was booked for a stupid dive! In the second half, Dango Ouattara came within a whisker of giving Brentford the lead, before Brentford were awarded a penalty after Axel Tuanzebe wiped out Ouattara! Igor Thiago then stepped up and scored to give Brentford the lead after 81 minutes! However, down at the other end, Burnley were awarded a penalty of their own after Jaidon Anthony was tripped by Michael Kayode, and Zian Flemming then successfully converted from 12 yards out to get us all square again with just 5 minutes of normal time remaining! Unbelievably, just a minute later, Igor Thiago scored again to put Brentford back in front, before Dango Ouattara sealed all 3 points in stoppage time! Overall, it’s another home victory for Brentford! The Bees rise to 10th spot, and they head to Arsenal on Wednesday for another London Derby! As for Burnley, it’s more disappointment for them! The Clarets remain inside the Relegation Zone (in 19th), and they host Crystal Palace next time out!

Tottenham 1-2 Fulham

Fulham managed to pick up their first away victory of the season in a London Derby against a woeful Tottenham Hotspur! After just 4 minutes, Fulham already had the lead as Kenny Tete’s effort took a helpful deflection off Destiny Udogie! Just 2 minutes later, it was somehow 2-0 to Fulham as Harry Wilson scored from miles out after a shocking bit of goalkeeping by Guglielmo Vicario! The decision-making by Vicario was absolutely woeful, but fair play to Harry Wilson because his finish was superb! It was then nearly 3-0 as Samuel Chukwueze hit the post just 5 minutes after Fulham’s second goal, before Micky Van de Ven pulled out a brilliant tackle to stop Chukwueze again! Early in the second half, Tottenham came super close to getting one back through Randal Kolo Muani as his effort struck the side-netting, before Spurs would get one back in the 59th minute courtesy of a wonderful Mohammed Kudus strike! Raul Jimenez then pulled out a brilliant goal-line clearance to keep Fulham’s lead intact, whilst Kolo Muani then once again missed the target! In the end, this was a horror show as far as Tottenham Hotspur are concerned! Spurs drop to 12th in the league, and they go to Newcastle tomorrow needing a result! As for Fulham, what a great win for them! The Cottagers remain 15th in the table, and they host Manchester City next time out!

Crystal Palace 1-2 Manchester United

Adam Wharton had a decent chance to score early on, but he could only blast his effort straight at Senne Lammens, before Jean-Philippe Mateta had a golden chance to give Crystal Palace the lead, but he somehow missed the target completely! After Palace were then awarded a penalty after Lenny Yoro fouled Mateta, JPM stepped up and scored from the spot, only for the penalty to have to be retaken due to a double touch! However, Jean-Philippe Mateta just stepped up and scored again to finally give Crystal Palace the lead after 36 minutes of play! 9 minutes into the second half, though, and Manchester United were back on level terms as Joshua Zirkzee somehow managed to find the back of the net from the most unlikely of angles! And then, in the 63rd minute, Mason Mount finished brilliantly from a set-piece routine to earn Manchester United a crucial 3 points! In the end, this is a really disappointing result for Crystal Palace! Palace drop to 9th in the table, and they head to Burnley next time out! As for Manchester United, they really needed this win! United rise to 7th in the league, and their next game sees them host West Ham for some Thursday Night Football!

West Ham 0-2 Liverpool

Just when they needed to most, Liverpool bounced back with a vital away win over West Ham United! Alphonse Areola made a good save in the first half to keep Alexander Isak’s effort out, before Florian Wirtz had a great opportunity to score, but he tamely guided his effort right into Areola’s reach! However, in the 60th minute, Liverpool would find themselves in front as Alexander Isak scored a much-needed first Premier League goal “in red”! Things then got worse for West Ham as Lucas Paqueta talked himself into being sent off (receiving two yellow cards for continuing to have a go at the referee), before Jarrod Bowen missed a great opportunity to equalise late on! And then, in the 92nd minute, Liverpool’s victory was secured courtesy of Cody Gakpo! In the end, West Ham United will be disappointed with themselves here! The Hammers remain 17th in the table, and they head to Manchester United next time out! As for Liverpool, this was a much-needed win for them! The Reds now find themselves in 8th place, and their next game is a big one at home to Sunderland on Wednesday!

Nottingham Forest 0-2 Brighton

After Brighton came close to taking the lead early on, Mats Wieffer probably should’ve made it 1-0 to Brighton, but he poorly dragged his effort wide of the target! Morgan Gibbs-White then came close to giving Nottingham Forest the lead down at the other end, before Brighton did have the lead right on halftime as Maxim De Cuyper finished well! In the second half, Matz Sels made a pair of good saves to keep Nottingham Forest in the game at just 1-0, before Igor Jesus was denied an equalising goal by Bart Verbruggen! And then, in the 88th minute, Stefanos Tzimas took full advantage of a defensive mishap to secure all 3 points for the visitors! In the end, Nottingham Forest’s unbeaten run has now come to an end! Forest stay 16th in the table, and they head to Wolves next time out! As for Brighton and Hove Albion, it’s another good win for them! The Seagulls now find themselves 5th in the league, and their next game is a potential barnstormer at home against Aston Villa!

Chelsea 1-1 Arsenal

Despite having an extra man for the large majority of the game, Arsenal couldn’t take advantage as Chelsea survived in a top-of-the-table clash! Estevao had a really good opportunity to give Chelsea the lead early on, but he poorly blazed his effort well over the crossbar, before Moises Caicedo was shown a straight red card in the 38th minute after a poor challenge on Mikel Merino! Robert Sanchez then pulled out a good save to deny Gabriel Martinelli right on halftime, before just 3 minutes into the second half, it was Chelsea who found themselves in front courtesy of Trevoh Chalobah! However, just 11 minutes was all it took for Arsenal to get back on level terms as Mikel Merino headed home well after a great ball in from Bukayo Saka! Robert Sanchez then pulled out another great save, this time to deny Merino a second, before Jurrien Timber took away a golden opportunity for Viktor Gyokeres to win it at the end! In the end, this is a pretty decent point for Chelsea! The Blues drop to third in the table, however, and they head to Leeds next time out! As for Arsenal, they should’ve won this game! The Gunners remain top of the league, and they will look to bounce back in another London Derby against Brentford this Wednesday!

Aston Villa 1-0 Wolves

Wolves were fortunate not to be behind inside 3 minutes as David Moller Wolfe saw the ball hit him and come out off the crossbar, before Jorgen Strand-Larsen thought he’d given Wolves a crucial lead, only for the goal to be ruled out due to impeding from Jhon Arias! Strand-Larsen then forced a save out of Emi Martinez right before halftime, before Martinez pulled out an amazing save to tip Yerson Mosquera’s effort onto the crossbar from the resulting corner! Wolves were so close to taking the lead here! And then, in the 67th minute, Aston Villa would take the lead thanks to a wonderful strike from Boubacar Kamara! Right in the top corner! Overall, it’s another 3 points for Aston Villa! Villa remain in 4th, and they head to Brighton for a potential cracker next time out! As for Wolverhampton Wanderers, this loss will hurt! Wolves stay easily bottom of the league, and their next game is simply a must-win at home against Nottingham Forest!
