Last Weekend Before the Summer Breakup
Whilst it feels like Formula 1 has only just come back, it’s going away for another 4 weeks after this weekend as we will head into our usual summer break! Because of this, this is the teams and drivers’ last chance to score big before the break, giving themselves a much better feeling during the time off! However, if certain drivers were to struggle again this weekend, those 4 weeks will feel like an eternity!

Pierre Gasly’s Cracking Form
Alpine currently find themselves last in the Constructors’ Championship after a pretty rocky ride in 2025, but you can’t say that’s down to everyone at the team because Pierre Gasly has been superb! Pierre currently sits 12th, yes 12th, in the Drivers’ Standings, and he’s on a run of back-to-back points-scoring finishes! Pierre is carrying Alpine this year, he is consistently clear of his teammate, and he’s honestly the only reason why Alpine are only 15 points behind the next “best” team!

Andrea Kimi Antonelli Needs a Strong Weekend
I don’t think this is the first time I’ve said this this season, but it is vital that Andrea Kimi Antonelli goes well around the Hungaroring! After starting the season pretty consistently well, things have gone wrong since his Home Race in Imola! Some things haven’t been his fault; reliability issues in both Imola and Spain, but he also crashed in both Monaco and Austria whilst last weekend in Belgium was particularly concerning! The reason it was so concerning for me is because Kimi had no pace, he was so slow, he was terrible in Qualifying and barely made any progress during both the Sprint and the Grand Prix! This needs to stop, because this isn’t good enough at the moment!

Can Oliver Bearman Crack into the Top 10?
It’s been a very weird season for Haas as a whole, some weekends they’re the worst car in the entire field, and other weekends they can end up best of the rest! For Oliver Bearman, it’s been a very Rookie Season for him, with plenty of mistakes and stupid moments, but also enough speed! I mean, I feel like Ollie has really picked up his game in recent Races, he’s actually finished P11 in each of the last 4 weekends, and he did manage to bag a great P7 in last weekend’s Belgian GP Sprint! Still, Bearman hasn’t finished in the points in a Grand Prix since Bahrain, 9 Races ago, so he’ll be trying his absolute best to change that this time around!

The Scene of Piastri’s First Win
The 2024 Hungarian Grand Prix was certainly something, most notably McLaren’s terrible strategy that made them look absolutely horrendous whilst still scoring a 1-2 finish! It was also the home of Oscar Piastri’s first-ever Grand Prix victory, even though it was incredibly overshadowed! However, in the year since then, Oscar has won another 7 times, proving himself to be one of the absolute best drivers in the world, and he currently leads the World Drivers’ Championship by 16 points as a result! It’s weird to say that Piastri is looking for redemption this year given the fact he won around the Hungaroring last year, but I think that’s exactly what Oscar is looking for, and he quite frankly deserves it!

My Predictions for Hungary Qualifying
Oscar Piastri
Lando Norris
Max Verstappen
