With overtaking being notoriously difficult at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez, everyone had to step up their game in order to qualify as high as possible for the 2025 Mexico City Grand Prix!

Q1

In Qualifying 1, Gabriel Bortoleto, Alex Albon, Pierre Gasly, Lance Stroll, and Franco Colapinto were the five slowest drivers! Gabriel Bortoleto ended up a tenth short of making it through to Q2 in what was a pretty tight session, whilst Alex Albon’s form has completely dropped; the Williams driver was knocked out in Q1 again! Pierre Gasly could only manage 18th for Alpine, ahead of the slow Aston Martin of Lance Stroll, whilst Franco Colapinto ended up last after messing up his final lap! Amazingly, Isack Hadjar topped Q1 for Racing Bulls, just 3 thousandths of a second quicker than Lewis Hamilton’s Ferrari!

Q2

In Qualifying 2, Yuki Tsunoda, Esteban Ocon, Nico Hulkenberg, Fernando Alonso, and Liam Lawson all failed to make it into the Top 10 shootout! Yuki Tsunoda was so unlucky to miss out on making it to Q3 by just 12 thousandths of a second, whilst half a tenth slower than his teammate was enough for Esteban Ocon to also miss out! Nico Hulkenberg did alright to get his Kick Sauber into P13, ahead of Fernando Alonso (Aston Martin are really struggling), whilst Liam Lawson ended up slowest in Q2 after a pretty messy session! Q2 was topped by McLaren’s Lando Norris, with Hamilton once again in second!

Q3

In Qualifying 3, a rapid 1:15.586 was more than enough for Lando Norris to take his first Pole Position since the Summer Break! Lando was absolutely rapid throughout Qualifying, and he has an amazing opportunity to take the Championship lead come the end of today! Ferrari had one of their best sessions of the season, with Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton setting the second and third fastest laps of the day, whilst George Russell did well to get his Mercedes into P4! Max Verstappen’s Championship charge took a bit of a hit as the Dutchman could only manage 5th, ahead of the other Mercedes of Andrea Kimi Antonelli, whilst Carlos Sainz pulled out a special lap to take P7! Unfortunately for Carlos, he does have to serve a 5-place Grid penalty due to his incident with Antonelli last weekend! Oscar Piastri’s woes continued, the Championship leader was nearly 6 tenths slower than his McLaren teammate, whilst Rookie’s Isack Hadjar and Oliver Bearman did another good job to round out the Top 10!
