The Sprint Returns!

Round 6 of the 2025 Formula 1 Season hosts the second Sprint Weekend of the year as we get double the amount of competitive sessions in Miami! Last year’s Sprint in Miami saw Max Verstappen take another victory whilst we also had Kevin Magnussen being a bit of a menace! I’d say to look out for Oscar Piastri in this format, he’s probably the favourite to win whilst I wouldn’t expect much from either Alpine or Aston Martin!

Multiple Special Liveries

With it being Miami, certain teams have decided to change things up for a weekend and go for a special livery! Firstly, Ferrari have adopted a lot of HP blue to go alongside their usual Scuderia colours, and all I’ll say is people don’t seem particularly impressed! Kick Sauber also have a special livery, it’s a bit like splatalot (if you get that reference, well done), but you could also argue that there’s less green and more black on this livery than their normal one. However, Racing Bulls have once again swooped in and saved the day with a lovely pink and white livery which is just beautiful! As a Racing Point fan, this livery is exactly what I wanted!

Haas’ First Home Race

With their being 3 Races in the United States, it means Haas have the privilege of having not 1, not 2, but 3 Home Race Weekends! That of course starts in Miami, a place where the team has scored points in the last 2 seasons! Haas are currently doing pretty well, they sit 6th in the Constructors’ Standings, and given their recent run of doing great on even weekends, Haas could be in for another strong Miami outing!

Jack Doohan Needs to Find Some Performance!

Jack Doohan’s start to his Formula 1 Career has been meh to say the least, it’s not been horrendous, his crashes in Australia and Japan (FP2) being the only real low points, and there has been signs of pretty strong pace. However, Jack is not managing to get consistent performance out of his car, he consistently trails Pierre Gasly (which isn’t that much of a surprise), and he’s currently 19th in the Championship! Like I said, it would be unfair to say that Doohan’s doing terribly, he’s not, there are decent signs, but he needs to show it more consistently because we all know that Alpine will make a decision very quickly if and when they want to! Because of this, I feel like Miami is a big weekend in the career of Jack Doohan!

The Brilliance of Oscar Piastri

The end of Saudi Arabia marked a historic moment for Oscar Piastri as he took the lead of the Drivers’ World Championship for the first time in his career! Oscar has been absolutely superb this season, minus a mistake in tricky Australian conditions (something plenty of others did as well) and a bad first sector in Japan that ultimately cost him the victory, but the consistency is the main thing to note! Piastri is quick all the time, whenever he goes out on track, and he’s already won 3 Races this season whilst he’s been close to taking Pole every weekend so far! The momentum is fully on the side of the Australian, Oscar Piastri looks completely on it, and given it’s a Sprint Weekend, this is a massive opportunity for Oscar to extend his lead even further!
