Norris Handed Win in Chaotic Miami Sprint
The 2025 Miami Grand Prix Sprint had all sorts of chaos with tricky and changeable conditions, and a late-Sprint Safety Car handed the win to Lando Norris! This meant Oscar Piastri had to settle for second in a McLaren 1-2 whilst Lewis Hamilton’s great strategy earned him the final spot on the Podium!

What on Earth!
Firstly, before the Sprint even began, Charles Leclerc crashed on his way to the Grid in what was pretty treacherous conditions! Honestly, there was nothing that Charles could’ve done here, he was a passenger! When the Sprint was meant to get underway, we instead had a couple of laps behind the Safety Car before a Red Flag was called because it was simply too wet! This meant that when the Sprint finally started, we only had 16 laps of action! At the start, it was Oscar Piastri who managed to get down the inside of Andrea Kimi Antonelli to take the lead as Kimi Antonelli went sliding off the track and down to P4! Things then became “normal” for a while, with no real overtakes happening, but Carlos Sainz was certainly getting frustrated behind the Haas of Esteban Ocon!

At the midway point of the Sprint, certain drivers made the switch to dry tyres, most notably Lewis Hamilton, Lance Stroll, Carlos Sainz, and Yuki Tsunoda! We then had a mess in the pitlane as Red Bull released Max Verstappen into the side of Kimi Antonelli, and this took both guys out of points contention as Max was handed a 10-second time penalty! Sainz then clipped the wall in the Mickey Mouse chicane, resulting in Carlos having to retire due to too much damage whilst a Safety Car was then brought out after Liam Lawson punted Fernando Alonso into the wall! This ultimately decided the results as not only did the Sprint finish under the Safety Car, but Lando Norris, who stayed out a lap longer than his teammate Oscar Piastri, was able to jump Oscar because of the cheap pitstop and take a second-consecutive Miami win with the help of a Safety Car!
The Highs and Lows of the Sprint
I’ve given out ftwo 10’s for today’s Sprint and the first one is for Oscar Piastri! Both Oscar and Lando are incredibly hard to grade here, there’s arguments for them both getting a 10, there’s also arguments for neither of them getting a 10, but ultimately, it was Piastri who drove the better Race, he just got incredibly unlucky! The other driver I’ve given out maximum points to is Lance Stroll, Aston Martin have been terrible this season, but somehow Lance managed to come home in P5 (after starting P16)! Lando Norris and Lewis Hamilton can both be very pleased with their results (P1 and P3 respectively) whilst Yuki Tsunoda scoring points after starting from the Pitlane is very impressive!

In terms of the lowest possible grade, I’ve only given out one 1, and that is unfortunately for Carlos Sainz! Firstly, Carlos wasn’t particularly shining in his attempts to overtake Esteban Ocon, but to then crash on your own is simply not good enough! Jack Doohan also struggled to be the slowest non-penalty finisher, and we need to talk about Liam Lawson because I have no idea what he was thinking when he wiped out Fernando Alonso, it was just stupid!
