Redemption for Russell as McLaren Crowned Constructors’ World Champions
George Russell never put a foot wrong today as the brilliant Brit took a splendid victory to earn some redemption around the streets of Singapore! Max Verstappen valiantly held on to second to get a little closer in the Championship fight, whilst Lando Norris rounded out the Podium after bumping teammate Oscar Piastri out of the way on the opening lap on a day where McLaren were crowned back-to-back Constructors’ World Champions!

The Biggest Talking Points
The main moment to talk about from this Race was at the start, as at Turn 2, Lando Norris hit the back of Max Verstappen’s Red Bull before he bumped Oscar Piastri out of the way to take P3! This massively angered Oscar, who made his feelings clear, but neither the FIA nor McLaren decided to do anything about it! In my opinion, I thought this was really good driving from Lando; he needs to do this more often, but I also totally understand why Piastri was so aggrieved, because this wasn’t the “nice and fair” incident that McLaren have been working so desperately to keep! Anyway, whilst all of this was going on, George Russell was bolting down the road up front, whilst everyone else was struggling to get near one another due to the effect of the dirty air!

After the first round of pit stops, Russell remained out in front, with Verstappen and Norris second and third (respectively), whilst things got worse for Oscar Piastri as he suffered a 5-second+ pit stop! We then got a bit of a melee as the lead drivers had to deal with at least 6 lapped cars, and whilst this created a little bit of intrigue, overtaking was still impossible! Lower down the field, Isack Hadjar was dealing with more engine issues, and this led to him being brilliantly overtaken by Fernando Alonso (who was on a charge after a 9-second pit stop)! Towards the end of the Race, Lando Norris kept trying to put Max Verstappen’s ailing Red Bull under pressure, but Verstappen kept his calm, whilst Lewis Hamilton made a late charge on a set of soft compound tyres! Unfortunately for Lewis, his brakes failed at the end, meaning he lost multiple places, whilst McLaren celebrated being Champions once again!
The Standout Drives in the Race
I’ve given out three 10’s for the 2025 Singapore Grand Prix, and the first one is obviously for George Russell! George was absolutely superb today, kept his calm throughout, and he deserved another win; he’s been excellent this season! The second driver I’ve given out maximum points to is Max Verstappen, and I know what you’re thinking, but let me explain! Max had an ailing car all afternoon; he was clearly struggling massively, and yet his pace was still incredibly strong; beating both McLaren’s is some effort! And the final driver I’ve given a Perfect 10 to is Fernando Alonso, who was absolutely superb today to finish best of the rest in P7! Elsewhere, Oliver Bearman did a great job to finish 9th in his first Singapore GP, whilst Carlos Sainz did superbly well to go from last to P10!

Drivers Who Had a Shocker
I’ve once again been generous and not given anyone a 1, mostly because the field was so tight, but that doesn’t mean there weren’t some poor performances! Both Kick Sauber’s were in the wars today, with Nico Hulkenberg having a clear car issue, whilst the French duo of Esteban Ocon and Pierre Gasly both struggled for pace tonight!
