2026 NFL Week 2 Preview and Predictions: Part 1

(1-0) Detroit Lions @ Buffalo Bills (1-0)

Two recent powerhouses face off on Thursday Night Football as the Buffalo Bills debut their brand-new Highmark Stadium against the Detroit Lions! The Buffalo Bills picked up a great win in Houston in Week 1, and they currently find themselves second in the AFC East! As for Detroit, they just about managed to beat the New Orleans Saints in overtime last time out, and they currently sit third in the NFC North! In the end, I’m going to back Buffalo to be the ones to go 2-0! I’d say both of these teams are good enough to compete this year, but based on last week’s performance, The Bills are going to be hard to stop!

(0-1) Carolina Panthers @ Atlanta Falcons (0-1)

The Atlanta Falcons lost in Pittsburgh in Week 1, and yet they currently lead the NFC South! As for Carolina, they got smashed 59-37 by the Chicago Bears last time out, and they currently sit bottom of the NFC South! In the end, I think The Panthers will win this game! It’s clear for everyone to see (at least based on Week 1) that Carolina’s defense sucks, but fortunately for them, so does Atlanta’s offense!

(1-0) Minnesota Vikings @ Chicago Bears (1-0)

Two NFC North combatants face off as The Bears host The Vikings! The Chicago Bears managed to put out a thunderous 59-37 win in Carolina last weekend, and they currently sit second in the NFC North! As for Minnesota, they picked up a strong win over the Green Bay Packers in Week 1, and they currently lead the NFC North! In the end, I’ll back The Bears to go 2-0! I think both teams impressed last week, but when you score 59 points the week prior, you sort of have to go with Chicago!

(1-0) Philadelphia Eagles @ Tennessee Titans (0-1)

The Tennessee Titans suffered a poor 23-10 loss at home against the New York Jets last weekend, and they currently sit third in the AFC South! As for Philadelphia, they managed to barely edge out the Washington Commanders last time out, and they currently find themselves second in the NFC East! In the end, this should be a pretty easy victory for The Eagles! I say “should”, knowing for well that I said the same thing about Philly’s game against Washington last week!

(1-0) Pittsburgh Steelers @ New England Patriots (0-1)

The New England kickstarted the 2026 NFL Season with a poor loss in Seattle, and they currently sit third in the AFC East! As for Pittsburgh, they managed to start their season with a win over the Atlanta Falcons, and they currently find themselves third in the AFC North! In the end, I think New England will get their first win of the season here! Honestly, The Patriots need to win this game!

(0-1) Green Bay Packers @ New York Jets (1-0)

The New York Jets picked up a good win in Tennessee to start the season, and they currently lead the AFC East! As for Green Bay, they suffered a disappointing loss to the Minnesota Vikings last time out, and they currently find themselves bottom of the NFC North (as the only team without a victory)! In the end, Green Bay will bounce back here! They have to; surely?!

(0-1) Cleveland Browns @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers (0-1)

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers lost 27-33 in Cincinnati in Week 1, and they currently sit second in the NFC South! As for Cleveland, they got thumped by the Jacksonville Jaguars last time out, and they currently find themselves bottom of the AFC North (as the only team without a victory)! In the end, The Bucs will win this game! I’m honestly not sure if I’ll pick The Browns to win a game all season!

(0-1) New Orleans Saints @ Baltimore Ravens (1-0)

The final game of Part 1 of my Week 2 Preview sees the Baltimore Ravens host the New Orleans Saints! The Baltimore Ravens scored a massive 41 points in Indianapolis last weekend, and they currently lead the AFC North! As for New Orleans, they suffered a tough overtime defeat to the Detroit Lions last time out, and they currently sit third in the NFC South! In the end, I expect The Ravens to go 2-0! Baltimore should have more than enough quality to beat The Saints!
