2026 NFL Week 9 Preview and Predictions: Part 1
Teams on Their Bye Week:
Pittsburgh Steelers (6-2)
Tennessee Titans (1-7)
(5-2) Jacksonville Jaguars @ Baltimore Ravens (4-4)

Week 9’s Thursday Night Football clash sees a wounded Baltimore Ravens host the high-flying Jacksonville Jaguars! The Baltimore Ravens got smashed 36-10 by the Buffalo Bills last weekend, and they currently sit bottom of the AFC North! As for Jacksonville, they smacked the Indianapolis Colts 42-7 last time out, and they currently lead the AFC South (as the only team with a winning record)! In the end, I fully expect The Jags to win this one! The Ravens’ season is basically done at this point, whilst The Jaguars are running away with the AFC South!
(5-2) Cincinnati Bengals @ Atlanta Falcons (3-5)

The NFL returns to Madrid as the Cincinnati Bengals take on the Atlanta Falcons in Spain! The Atlanta Falcons suffered a shock 16-0 defeat to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last weekend, and they currently sit third in the NFC South! As for Cincinnati, they just about managed to get over the line against the Tennessee Titans in Overtime last time out, and they currently find themselves third in the AFC North! In the end, I think Atlanta are going to steal this game! This feels like a major trap game for The Bengals, which I can see them slipping up in!
(3-5) Dallas Cowboys @ Indianapolis Colts (2-6)

The Indianapolis Colts got decimated 42-7 by the Jacksonville Jaguars last weekend, and they currently sit third in the AFC South! As for Dallas, they suffered a horrendous home defeat to the Arizona Cardinals in Overtime last time out, and they currently find themselves second in the NFC East! In the end, I will pick The Cowboys to win this game! I’ve been correct on multiple different occasions with Dallas losses this year, but Indianapolis are hopeless!
(2-6) New York Jets @ Kansas City Chiefs (5-2)

The Kansas City Chiefs lost for the second straight week last weekend against the Denver Broncos, and they currently find themselves second in the AFC West! As for New York, they lost yet again last time out against the Las Vegas Raiders, and they currently sit third in the AFC East! In the end, The Chiefs should win this game comfortably! The Jets suck; it’s as simple as that!
(5-2) Detroit Lions @ Miami Dolphins (1-6)

The Miami Dolphins lost 24-19 to the New England Patriots in Week 8, and they currently find themselves bottom of the AFC East! As for Detroit, they picked up an important win over the Minnesota Vikings last time out, and they currently sit third in the NFC North! In the end, this should be a relatively straightforward victory for Detroit! In a division as strong as the NFC North, The Lions really can’t afford to slip up in Miami!
(5-3) Cleveland Browns @ New Orleans Saints (2-5)

The New Orleans Saints enter Week 9 off the back of a Bye, and they currently find themselves bottom of the NFC South! As for Cleveland, they got stuffed by the Pittsburgh Steelers last time out, and they currently sit third in the AFC North! In the end, I am going to pick Cleveland to win this game! I won’t ever again if The Browns lose to The Saints, so the pressure is on!
(4-2-1) New York Giants @ Philadelphia Eagles (2-6)

The Philadelphia Eagles lost for the 6th straight week to the Washington Commanders on Sunday Night Football last time out, and they currently sit bottom of the NFC East! As for New York, they enter Week 9 off the back of a Bye, and they currently lead the NFC East (as the only team with a winning record)! In the end, I’m guessing that The Giants are going to win this game! Philly might never win again (in 2026) at this point!
(4-4) Los Angeles Rams @ Washington Commanders (2-4-1)

The Washington Commanders picked up a much-needed victory over the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 8’s edition of Sunday Night Football, and they currently sit third in the NFC East! As for LA, they breezed past the Los Angeles Chargers last time out, and they currently find themselves third in the NFC West! In the end, I fully expect a win for the LA Rams in this one! The Rams shouldn’t slip up here!
