With the 2025 Formula 1 Season officially in the books, we can get down to the main business at hand, which is my official Driver Ratings/Rankings across the 2025 Formula 1 Season! For anyone who doesn’t know how this works, I give ratings between 1-to-10 for every driver’s performance in every competitive session (Sprint Quali, Sprint, Main Quali, Race)! I then add up the total number of points scored, divide it by the amount of key sessions they’ve competed in/received a grade (maximum of 60), and the average that comes out of that produces the overall list for my Rankings! I also split each key session into four, so we can all have a better reading as to which drivers perform better in Sprints compared to Qualifying, and so on! Oh, and finally, we will of course be comparing these rankings compared to the ones from my Midseason article, as things have definitely changed throughout the field! So, without further ado, let’s begin with P21, shall we?!

P21: Jack Doohan

Given he was dropped after just 6 rounds, it’s safe to say that Jack Doohan’s position was very unlikely to change once he entered the summer break bottom of my list! I’ve given Jack three 1’s compared to zero 10’s in 2025, with his highest grade being a 6 in Bahrain Qualifying (where he qualified P11)! Doohan’s worst weekend of the season came in Saudi Arabia, where he received just 4 points, whilst his best weekend came in Bahrain as he scored 10 points! When it comes to you guys, you actually gave Jack a similar average to me (2.83), but that was enough for him to be P20 in your list! Jack Doohan’s position was a really tricky one as there was little to no faith/belief that he'd remain in Formula 1 for very long, and Alpine certainly didn’t help his course with a number of different decisions they made! In the four years I’ve been doing these ratings, Jack has ended up with the fourth-lowest average ever (as in over a whole season)!
Total Sprint Qualifying Points: 5 (P21)
Total Sprint Results: 3 (P21)
Total Qualifying Points: 21 (P21)
Total Race Points: 13 (P21)
Overall Total: 42 (P21)
Average: 2.80
P20: Franco Colapinto

Whilst it may have benefited Alpine more, it’s not exactly like Franco Colapinto arrived and replaced Jack Doohan well! I’ve given Franco nine 1’s this season compared to zero 10’s, with his highest grade being a 7 in Canada Qualifying (for qualifying 12th, ahead of his teammate)! Colapinto’s worst weekend of 2025 came in the season finale, where he received two 1’s in Abu Dhabi, whilst his best weekend points-wise saw him score 17 at COTA! However, I would personally say that his 12 in Canada was his actual best weekend this season! At the summer break, Franco was P20 with an average of 3.13, so he’s actually gotten slightly worse (which I find interesting)! When it comes to you guys, you had Colapinto as your worst driver of 2025, but with a shocking average of just 1.83! I think it’s fair to say that Franco was the second-worst driver this season, with him not being much of an improvement on Jack Doohan! Colapinto was perhaps slightly stronger on a Sunday than in Qualifying, but even still, he wasn’t exactly strong in any format. Franco’s average was 3.13 at the midseason break, so he’s actually gotten slightly worse (which I find interesting!

Total Qualifying Points: 52 (P20)
Total Race Points: 56 (P20)
Overall Total: 129 (P20)
Average: 3.07
P19: Yuki Tsunoda

Yuki Tsunoda’s final year in Formula 1 was a complete disaster! I’ve given Yuki twelve 1’s this season, and his two 10’s came when he was still driving for Racing Bulls! Tsunoda’s worst weekend of the season came when he received two 1’s in Austria, whilst his best weekend saw him score 33 points in China (for VCARB)! At the summer break, Yuki was P19 with a 4.03 average, so he’s slightly improved over the final 10 rounds! When it comes to you guys, a slightly worse 3.83 average was still enough for Tsunoda to end up P19 in your rankings! The funniest (but also most intriguing) part of Yuki Tsunoda’s season is that he was pretty horrendous in both Qualifying and the Grand Prix’s, but he was somehow fantastic in Sprint Races (he’s literally on my Sprint Podium)! I’ve genuinely never seen an outlier this big, but that doesn’t hide the fact that Yuki’s season has been disastrous! Also, without his strong start for Racing Bulls, Tsunoda’s average would be 3.68 (which is a lot worse)!

P18: Lance Stroll

Even though P18 doesn’t look great, Lance Stroll did have his best season since 2022! In total, I’ve given Lance seven 1’s this season (which is his lowest-ever total) compared to three 10’s! Stroll’s worst weekend of 2025 was easily Japan (where he received two 1’s), whilst his best weekend points-wise was 28 in China! However, 19 points at Hungary was his most impressive weekend! At the summer break, Lance sat P18 with a 4.61 average, so his performance has dropped in the second part of 2025! When it comes to you guys, you also had Stroll in P18, but with an average of 4.33! The thing that very much lets Lance Stroll down is his Qualifying; yes, his Race results aren’t that great either, but Lance does perform far better on a Sunday than on a Saturday! It’s also a shame to see Stroll drop so many places in my Sprint Rankings, as he was originally on the Podium!

Total Qualifying Points: 82 (P19)
Total Race Points: 105 (P18)
Overall Total: 253 (P18)
Average: 4.36
P17: Esteban Ocon

Esteban Ocon’s first season with Haas didn’t exactly go as well as planned! I’ve given Esteban four 1’s in 2025, but he’s also received five 10’s from me (his highest total since 2022)! It’s hard to pinpoint Ocon’s worst weekend, with him receiving 4 points in Australia, Japan, Imola, and Singapore, whilst his best weekend points-wise was 31 in Belgium! However, Estie Bestie did do incredibly well to score 19 points in both Monaco and Abu Dhabi! At the summer break, Esteban was P14 with a 5.06 average, so he’s definitely dropped off since then! When it comes to you guys, Ocon did slightly better as a 5.17 average was enough for him to finish P16! Esteban Ocon’s performances in Qualifying this year have been pretty shocking, especially compared to the amount of points he received from me on Race Day! Also, Ocon was easily outperformed by his Rookie teammate this year, and that cannot happen going forward if Esteban wants to remain in Formula 1 long term!

Total Qualifying Points: 94 (P17)
Total Race Points: 136 (P13)

Average: 4.82
P16: Gabriel Bortoleto

It’s certainly been an up-and-down Rookie year for Gabriel Bortoleto! I’ve given Gabriel eight 1’s this year compared to five 10’s, so I guess that’s not the greatest of ratios! Bortoleto’s worst weekends of the season came when he scored just 3 points in both Saudi Arabia and Las Vegas, whilst his best weekend points-wise was 34 in Belgium! However, Gabby is the first driver on this list to have scored a Perfect 20, earning that feat in both Austria and Hungary (which tells you that his highs were really high)! At the summer break, Gabriel sat P17 with a 4.91 average, so whilst his performance has ever so slightly dropped, he’s actually moved up a place! When it comes to you guys, you were clearly a lot higher on Bortoleto than me, as you had him in P11 with a 6.00 average! I’d very much say that Gabriel Bortoleto showed this year that his 1-lap pace is strong; he actually outperformed his veteran teammate in that department, but his actual Race pace does need improvements! Ultimately, though, Gabby is young, so I expect him to grow moving forward!

Total Qualifying Points: 120 (P14)
Total Race Points: 110 (P17)

P15: Lewis Hamilton

Yikes, P15 for Lewis Hamilton! I’ve only given Lewis two 10’s in 2025 compared to nine 1’s, and that is a pretty horrific ratio! Hamilton’s worst weekend of the season was easily Qatar, where he received just 6 points (out of a possible 40), whilst his best weekend saw him score 33 points in China! At the summer break, Lewis ranked P10 with an average of 5.62, so his year has only gotten worse! When it comes to you guys, you also had Hamilton in P15, and amazingly, with a 5.17 average (more 6’s than Ocon)! 2025 has been the worst year of Lewis Hamilton’s 19-year Formula 1 career (even worse than last year), and I think his position in my rankings speaks volumes to that! Yes, Lewis has been poor in Qualifying, but it’s not like he’s been that great on a Sunday either, with Hamilton being considerably outperformed by his teammate! The Chinese Sprint was, of course, a special moment, but that’s really been the only highlight of Lewis’ first year in red! Next year almost feels like now or never when it comes to Hamilton being successful at Ferrari!

P14: Nico Hulkenberg

A more consistent end to the year meant Nico Hulkenberg has risen as Kick Sauber’s Number 1 driver for 2025! I gave Nico five 10’s this season (the same amount as his teammate), but only three 1’s (which is a lot less than Bortoleto)! Hulkenberg’s worst weekends of the season came in Zandvoort and Azerbaijan, where he scored 6 points, whilst his best weekend points-wise as 30 at COTA! However, we all know that The Hulk’s true best drive was his iconic maiden Podium back in Silverstone! At the summer break, Nico was P16 with a 4.91 average, so he has risen over the second part of the season (and particularly after Baku)! When it comes to you guys, you had Hulkenberg up in P10 with a decent 6.67 average! I think the thing that has held Nico Hulkenberg back in 2025 has been his disappointing Qualifying performances; like I said before, he was second-best to his Rookie teammate in that department! However, Nico has improved at Qualifying since the summer break (especially in Sprint Quali), hence why his average has gone up, and next year is the one that really matters for The Hulk!

P13: Liam Lawson

More time at Racing Bulls has allowed Liam Lawson to just about sneak into P13 in My 2025 F1 Driver Rankings! Liam has received both six 1’s and six 10’s in 2025, and I’d say that’s a pretty decent recovery given four of those 1’s came in his tiny stint at Red Bull! Lawson’s worst weekend of the season came when he received two 1’s in the season opener at Australia, whilst his best weekend points-wise was 31 in Belgium! However, it’s worth mentioning that Liam earned two Perfect 20’s in Austria and Azerbaijan (good job)! At the summer break, Liam found himself P15 with a bang-on 5.00 average, so he’s definitely gotten better as the season went on! When it comes to you guys, you had Lawson P14 with a 5.50 average (which is actually kind of strange when you compare it to mine)! I’m well aware that Liam Lawson has been outperformed by his teammate over the course of this season, but I think he’s actually recovered quite well, given how everything started! In fact, if you take out his two weekends at Red Bull, Lawson’s VCARB average is up at 5.67, which is actually incredibly similar to his previous two appearances in these Rankings (when he was a substitute/replacement for Daniel Ricciardo in both 2023 and 2024)!

P12: Pierre Gasly

To say that Pierre Gasly has decimated his Alpine teammates in 2025 would be an understatement! I gave Pierre five 10’s compared to just two 1’s this year, and I think that’s quite a good ratio given he’s been driving for by far the worst team on the grid! Gasly’s worst weekend of the season saw him score just 3 points in Monaco, whilst his best weekend points-wise came when he scored a massive 35 points in Sao Paulo! However, I can’t not mention the fact that The Gasman achieved a Perfect 20 in Bahrain! At the summer break, Pierre found himself P9 with a higher average of 5.94, but in fairness, Alpine have only gotten worse as the season’s gone on! When it comes to you guys, you didn’t give Gasly the praise that he deserved, as you only had him in P17 with a 4.33 average (higher best grade than Stroll)! I honestly think Pierre Gasly has done very well this season to end up this high in my rankings, given how horrendous Alpine have been compared to the rest of the field! For Pierre to end up inside the Top 10 of my Qualifying Rankings is actually a bit of a miracle, and ultimately, Gasly did all he could in destroying his two young teammates!

P11: Andrea Kimi Antonelli

If a mixed bag could describe anyone’s season perfectly, I would say that Andrea Kimi Antonelli fits the bill! Kimi Antonelli did receive four 1’s in his Rookie Season, but he also earned eight 10’s, which is a much better ratio than what he had in my midseason ratings! Antonelli’s worst weekend of the season points-wise was 4 in Monaco, but I have to say that 6 points on a Sprint Weekend in Belgium was pretty bad! As for his best, that very much came when Kimi scored a special Perfect 40 in Sao Paulo, becoming only the second person to reach that feat (after Max Verstappen achieved it twice in 2023)! At the summer break, Antonelli ranked P13 with a 5.12 average, so his game has definitely risen in the second part of his Rookie campaign! When it comes to you guys, you rated Kimi in P8 with an average of 7.00 (so stronger than me then)! Overall, it hasn’t been the easiest of debut years for Andrea Kimi Antonelli; in some moments, it seemed like he shouldn’t even be on the grid, that he’s too young, but there have been other moments where Kimi has shown that he is a star for the future! Also, to compare the drastic difference between Antonelli’s performances depending on the location, Andrea Kimi’s average in Europe is just 3.42 (which would put him P19 on this list), whilst his average in the other weekends is 6.85 (which would be good enough for P8 on this list! That is genuinely insane!

P10: Oliver Bearman

Whilst it wasn’t all smooth sailing, Oliver Bearman has proven himself to be one of F1’s most exciting Rookies in recent memory! Ollie received five 1’s from me in 2025, and he also received the same amount of 10’s, so I find that to be quite telling! Bearman’s worst weekend of the season saw him score just 3 points in Australia, whilst his best weekend points-wise was 31 in Belgium! However, Ollie did also achieve a very strong 19 in Mexico City! At the summer break, Oliver sat P12 with a 5.38 average, so he’s definitely improved in the second part of his Rookie season! When it comes to you guys, you had Bearman ever so slightly higher than me in P9, but with an average of 6.67 (higher best grade than Hulkenberg)! The thing that’s impressed me the most with Oliver Bearman in 2025 is his Race Pace; his performances in both Sprints and the Grand Prix were sensational! Ollie also massively outperformed his Race-winning teammate, and considering there were still multiple mistakes made this year, the future is insanely bright for Bearman!

P9: Alex Albon

Despite a very difficult end to the season, Alex Albon still ends up matching his highest Driver Ratings Season Ranking (from 2023)! I gave Alex six 1’s in 2025 (his highest ever), but he did also receive eight 10’s (with six of them before the summer break)! Albon’s worst weekend of the season saw him receive two 1’s in Las Vegas, whilst his best weekend points-wise was a mega 37 in Miami! However, Albon did also manage to score a Perfect 20 all the way back in Australia! At the summer break, Alex found himself all the way up in P6 with a 6.85 average, so things have definitely gone south in the later stages of this season! When it comes to you guys, you had Albon down in P12, with a 5.83 average! The thing that has let Alex Albon down in the second half of the year has been his poor Qualifying performances; they have really hurt him a lot! However, despite the drop off, it’s still been a positive year for Albon, and matching his 2023 Ranking isn’t a mean feat (because he drove very well that season)!

P8: Carlos Sainz

Whilst 2025 may be the first year that Carlos Sainz hasn’t ended up finishing inside the Top 5 of my Driver Rankings, his second half of the season saw the Smooth Operator back at his best! Carlos received six 1’s from me in 2025, but he also received a pretty strong twelve 10’s (by far the most so far)! Sainz’s worst weekend of the season saw him receive just 1 point in Austria (after failing to start the Race), whilst his best weekend points-wise was a massive 37 in Qatar! However, it’s worth mentioning that I did give Carlos three Perfect 20’s over the course of his debut year at Williams (Saudi, Baku, and Vegas)! At the summer break, a 5.48 average was enough for Carlos to be P11 only, so he's risen quite a bit in the final 10 rounds! When it comes to you guys, you’ve very much gone with recency bias as a 7.33 average is enough for Sainz to make your Top 5! Carlos Sainz had a lot of bad luck at the start of the season, with things just not clicking between him and Williams, but towards the end of the year, it very much went the other way! Carlos was particularly strong in Qualifying trim, and 2026 could end up being a very special year for the Spaniard!

P7: Charles Leclerc

2025 was easily the most difficult year of Charles Leclerc’s time with Ferrari (besides 2020)! Whilst Charles only received four 10’s from me in 2025, I never gave him a single 1, which ties Max Verstappen as the only other driver to have multiple seasons without receiving a single 1 (an incredibly impressive feat)! Leclerc’s worst weekends of the season saw him score “just” 8 points in both Silverstone and Azerbaijan, whilst his best weekend points-wise was 34 in Belgium! However, it’s also worth mentioning that the Monegasque was able to score a strong 19 points in both Monaco and Mexico City! At the summer break, Charles found himself P5 with a 7.21 average, so it has gotten harder since Zandvoort! When it comes to you guys, you had very similar feelings to me, with Leclerc also P7 with a 7.00 average (more 8’s than Antonelli)! Just like last year, Charles Leclerc has performed better on Race Day than in Qualifying, but it’s not been enough for him to continue his 100% streak of ending the year on my Podium! Ultimately, that comes down to Ferrari’s terrible attempt at building a Championship-winning car, because Leclerc has destroyed his World Championship-winning teammate!

P6: Isack Hadjar

Isack Hadjar’s 2025 is simply the Greatest Rookie Season that I’ve ever seen! I’ve given Isack ten 10’s compared to three 1’s in 2025, and I’d say that’s a pretty positive ratio! Hadjar’s worst weekend of the season saw him score 7 points in Silverstone, whilst his best weekend points-wise was 34 in both Sao Paulo and Qatar! However, Isack has achieved three Perfect 20’s during his Rookie Season (Japan, Monaco, and Zandvoort)! At the summer break, Isack found himself in P7 with a 6.82 average, so he’s actually gotten even better since then! When it comes to you guys, you also had Hadjar in P6, but with an average of 7.33 (lower best grade than Sainz)! I’ve been so unbelievably impressed with Isack Hadjar this season; his expectations were incredibly low, and yet he ended up as one of the best drivers all season! What’s even more impressive is just how strong Isack was across every format, with Hadjar’s consistency being unreal at this early stage of his career!

P5: Fernando Alonso

I genuinely feel like Fernando Alonso has had a criminally underrated season! Fernando only received one 1 from me this season (Australia Race), whilst he earned a massive thirteen 10’s (by far his highest ever total)! Alonso’s worst weekend of 2025 came in the season opener in Australia (where he received 7 points), whilst his best weekend points-wise was a strong 36 in Qatar! However, Fernando has also achieved three Perfect 20’s in Canada, Hungary, and Abu Dhabi this season! At the summer break, Fernando was P8 with a 6.61 average, so the 2-time World Champions class has very much shown in the second part of this season! When it comes to you guys, you’ve very much proven my point as you had Alonso all the way down in P13 with a shocking 5.83 average (less 7’s than Albon)! Aston Martin were pretty useless in 2025, but that didn’t stop Fernando Alonso from pulling out great results after great results! Fernando’s performances in Sprint Qualifying, in particular, have been pretty insane, and I think this is a clear sign that if Aston Martin can deliver the car next year, Alonso will be in Championship contention!

P4: George Russell

What a season for George Russell! George received eleven 10’s from me this season, whilst he finally managed a full-season without receiving a single 1 (after three straight years of only receiving one 1)! In fact, only three of Russell’s 59 grades were a 5 or lower (which is utterly ridiculous)! Russell’s worst weekend of the season came in Monaco, where he scored just 6 points, but it is worth mentioning that he was ungradable in Qualifying! As for his best weekend, I gave George 35 points in China, but he did pull off two Perfect 20’s in Canada and Singapore (the scene of his two victories)! At the summer break, George was P4 with a 7.79 average, so his consistency is off the charts! When it comes to you guys, you also have Russell in P4, but with a 7.50 average! George Russell has been amazing in 2025, easily his best season to date, and that’s why he ends the season as one of my Top 4 drivers (for the first time)! Any other season, and George would’ve been on my Podium, but that doesn’t take anything away from just how consistent he’s been in an inconsistent Mercedes!

P3: Oscar Piastri

Oscar Piastri’s 2025 season is a perfect example of why you can’t hand out the trophy too early! Oscar did receive two 1’s from me in 2025, but he also earned a massive eighteen 10’s (which is more than he got in his first two seasons combined)! Piastri’s worst weekend of the season saw him score just 4 points in Azerbaijan, whilst his best weekend saw him score a Perfect 40 in Qatar! However, it’s also worth mentioning that Oscar did earn three Perfect 20’s in Bahrain, Spain, and Zandvoort! At the summer break, Oscar was easily P1 with a massive 8.88 average, so it’s clear that his standard dropped! When it comes to you guys, you also had Piastri in third, with an average of 8.33! Oscar Piastri’s season is one of those where you can look at the difference between his position in my midseason rankings to now and think that things really did fall apart in the Aussie’s Title challenge! However, at the same time, Oscar’s average at the end of 2023 was 6.06, and it was 7.03 at the end of 2024, so the improvements that Piastri has made have been hugely significant, even more so in comparison to his teammate (the gap between the two McLarens is actually insane)! Piastri’s time will come!

P2: Lando Norris

Despite becoming World Champion, it still wasn’t enough for Lando Norris to finally end up as my Driver of the Season! Lando received one 1 in 2025 (Canada Race) compared to fifteen 10’s, and it’s definitely interesting to me that he received fewer 10’s than his teammate! Norris’ worst weekend of the season saw him score just 5 points in Canada, whilst his best weekend came when he scored a Perfect 40 (these are starting to become more common) in Sao Paulo! Lando also received another four Perfect 20’s in Australia, Monaco, Austria, and Mexico City! At the summer break, Lando sat P3 with a 7.97 average, so his end-of-season form definitely came in clutch! When it comes to you guys, you also had Norris as your runner-up, but with a much stronger 9.17 average! There were a lot of positives for Lando Norris, especially on a Race Day, hence why he won this year’s Formula 1 World Championship! However, Lando did let certain results slide, and that’s why he hasn’t ended up as my Number 1 driver for 2025! Despite that, you can’t take anything away from Lando Norris, because this was his best season to date (for more reasons than one)!

P1: Max Verstappen

For the 4th-straight year, Max Verstappen is my Driver of the Season! Max’s one and only 1 this season came in Spain (I wonder why), but he did receive a mega twenty-three 10’s (which is actually his lowest-ever total)! Verstappen’s worst weekend of 2025 came in Austria, where he received just 6 points, but it’s worth mentioning that I could only grade him for Qualifying (as he was wiped out on the opening lap of the Race)! As for his best weekend, that came at COTA, where he scored a Perfect 40 (for the third time in his career), but Max did also achieve four Perfect 20’s in Japan, Monza, Azerbaijan, and Abu Dhabi! At the summer break, the 4-time World Champion was P2 with an 8.09 average, so it’s been a cracking end to the season for the Dutchman! When it comes to you guys, you also had Max P1, but with a ridiculous average of 9.33! If he hadn’t shown it already, 2025 firmly proved to the naysayers that Max Verstappen is indeed one of, if not the Greatest of All Time! Max was the King of the Sprints once again; his Qualifying performances were excellent, and the fact that he’s ended up with basically the same average as his 2022 and 2024 Title-winning years tells you everything about how special his 2025 season was (even without a 5th World Championship to his name)!
Total Sprint Qualifying Points: 49 (P3)
Total Sprint Results: 52 (P1)
Total Qualifying Points: 199 (P1)
Total Race Points: 198 (P2)
Overall Total: 498 (P1)
