TNA World Championship: Trick Williams VS Josh Briggs

After Lash Legend, Izzi Dame, Jaida Parker, and Jordynne Grace all cut promos on how they will prevail in tonight’s Main Event, this week’s edition of NXT kicked off with Trick Williams putting his TNA World Championship on the line against Josh Briggs! This was a good way to start the show, both men brought it, and the crowd got more and more into it the deeper this contest went! Briggs put in another strong showing, he’s very underrated, and Trick is just a star! In the end, Williams was able to nail a Trick Shot to get the win before Joe Hendry showed up after the match, taking out his TNA Slammiversary opponent!

Je’Von Evans VS Tavion Heights, Ricky Saints VS Ashante “Thee” Adonis

Tavion Heights accused Charlie Dempsey of injuring him on purpose in training before Lexis King talked some trash about Myles Borne and the Florida Gators! The No Quarter Catch Crew were then at ringside as Tavion Heights was set to face off with Je’Von Evans! The stipulation for this match was simple: if Tavion wins, he’s out of the NQCC! The weird thing about this, though, is Je’Von has been wanting/pushing for Heights to leave the group, so why didn’t he just lose this match by countout? Anyway, the action itself was good, Evans is absolutely incredible whilst Heights should also have a bright future ahead of him! Despite a strong performance from Tavion Heights, it was still Je’Von Evans who scored the win after The Young O.G. delivered a ridiculous Splash! After the match, however, Je’Von was left laying by Jasper Troy!

After a video package explaining the state of the NXT Heritage Cup, Ricky Saints made his NXT in-ring return when he went one-on-one with Ashante “Thee” Adonis! This was mostly a nothing match, not a lot happened, the crowd do not care one bit for Ashante, and this was pretty smooth sailing for Ricky! After Saints picked up the win with a Rochambeau, Ethan Page appeared on the titantron, only to attack his rival from behind with a clever sneak attack! All Ego then added insult to injury by delivering a Rochambeau of his own to Mr. Revolution!

Oba Femi Speaks, Tony D’Angelo VS Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo: NXT Heritage Cup

DarkState said they’re planning something big before Oba Femi came out to talk about his run as NXT Champion! Oba said he has put down all challengers, from NXT, TNA, Raw, and SmackDown, but he doesn’t like resting! Because of this, The Ruler wants to know who will step up to him next, and that person was none other than Yoshiki Inamura! Yoshiki said that he came back to NXT not just because of Josh Briggs, but also because he loves the culture, he loves the atmosphere that the crowd brings, and he wants to do something big, that something big being Oba Femi and taking the NXT Championship! This would be a great matchup for The Great American Bash, but it’s not guaranteed yet as Jasper Troy attacked Inamura to close the segment!

Izzi Dame gifted Tatum Paxley a new doll, but Sol Ruca and Zaria once again tried to tell Tatum not to trust Izzi! Wes Lee then told Trick Williams that he will deal with Joe Hendry next week before Tony D’Angelo and Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo went at it for the vacant NXT Heritage Cup! Round 1 was pretty tight, with neither man able to gain an advantage, but a slap after the bell fired up Tony D as he pounced on Stacks to get an early fall in the second! Round 3 took place in the ad break, but there was a replay that showed Lorenzo’s goons taking out the knee of The Don, and this meant the tie was easily levelled up in the 4th! Luca Crusifino then showed up to be in D’Angelo’s corner, but this turned into a disaster as Luca “accidentally” hit Tony in the back with a metal can before Stacks delivered a Last Shot to get the win! Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo being the NXT Heritage Cup Champion works with his current gimmick!

Fatal Influence said they will forever run the NXT Women’s Division before Thea Hail got into an altercation with Lainey Reid! Ava was then furious with Ethan Page’s actions before Hank and Tank were attacked backstage, and Joe Hendry also cut a promo hyping up his TNA World Championship rematch against Trick Williams at Slammiversary! We also then found out that it was Kale Dixon who called out for Andre Chase all those months ago, but Dixon and Uriah Connors seem to be regretting that decision nowadays!

Evolution Eliminator: Jordynne Grace VS Lash Legend VS Izzi Dame VS Jaida Parker

And in the Main Event of this week’s edition of NXT, Lash Legend, Jordynne Grace, Izzi Dame, and Jaida Parker collided in the final Evolution Eliminator! This was a decent match, I thought Jordynne and Lash were the standouts, but both Izzi and Jaida also did a decent job themselves! Grace was definitely the favourite to win here, even though I was rooting for Legend given the fact that the winner of this match will face Jacy Jayne for the NXT Women’s Championship at Evolution! Ultimately, it was Jordynne Grace who prevailed with a Juggernaut Driver onto Miss Parker to get the win! I’m assuming that Jordynne will dethrone Jacy in Atlanta, but if that’s the case, why didn’t she just beat Stephanie Vaquer at Battleground?
