TNA World Tag Team Championships: The Hardy Boyz VS Axiom and Nathan Frazer

NXT Roadblock 2025 kicked off with the TNA World Tag Team Championships on the line as The Hardy Boyz defended against the current NXT Tag Team Champions, Axiom and Nathan Frazer! This was a good start to the show, the crowd was into it from both sides, and I enjoyed it! I thought some of the dives that Axiom and Nathan did were pretty cool, and The Hardy’s hitting all their trademark manoeuvres was also fun to see! My only criticism of this match, however, is we never got a really cool near-fall, or FRAXIOM somehow managing to kick out like they always do! Instead, Frazer delivered the Phoenix Splash, but it was quite clear that Matt was going to break it up before an accident kick from Axiom to Frazer opened the door for Jeff to hit a Swanton Bomb to retain their TNA World Tag Team Titles! I don’t know, as cool as this was, it was missing an injection of jeopardy!

Jordynne Grace VS Roxanne Perez, Oba Femi VS Moose: NXT Championship, Ethan Page VS Je’Von Evans: New York City Street Fight

Mickie James was hyping up Jaida Parker backstage before Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo said that he needs to get revenge on Shawn Spears and his crew for taking the NXT North American Championship from The Don last week! It was then time for the second match of the night as Jordynne Grace went one-on-one with Roxanne Perez! The focus of this match was on the leg of Jordynne Grace as Roxanne continuously worked on the lower body to try and nullify Grace’s power game. Despite this, Jordynne was still able to fight back thanks to the clear size advantage, and in the end, a Juggernaut Driver was enough for The Juggernaut to pick up a big win over The Prodigy!

Trick Williams had a video package hyping himself up for next week’s NXT Underground Match against Eddy Thorpe before Oba Femi came face-to-face with The Undertaker backstage! This was a very cool moment, and it led perfectly into the next match as it was time for Oba Femi and Moose to collide with the NXT Championship on the line! This was so much fun, it was two titans colliding to rule the land of NXT, the crowd was so into it, and the action didn’t disappoint! This was pretty hard-hitting at times, but the flow was good throughout, with both men getting their moments to shine! In fact, the best part of the match was probably when Moose sent Oba crashing through the announce table, a moment The Face of the Franchise wasn’t really able to take advantage of as in the end, Femi dropped Moose with a Fall From Grace to get the win and remain as the NXT Champion! This was great, and a real sign of how special the NXT-TNA partnership can be!

After Fatal Influence weren’t very polite to Ricky Saints, Ethan Page stormed past as he was ready to take on Je’Von Evans in a New York City Street Fight! I enjoyed the previous match a lot, but I thought this topped it! This contest was absolutely insane, the bumps that both men took were tough to watch at times, and I thought they both did superbly! Ethan got dropped on a dented chair at one point, and he got his revenge by sending Je’Von crashing through a table! However, the craziest table spot came when Evans dived over the top rope and delivered a Cutter to Page through a table on the outside! Like what the heck! Je’Von then did an even stupider dive to go flying over the announce table before back in the ring, The Young O.G. delivered a Cutter onto All Ego neck which was wrapped around a steel chair to get the win! Vicious is an understatement! After the match, Je’Von Evans was attacked by the new NXT crew, so they’re continuing to send a message!

Champion VS Champion, Winner Takes All: Giulia VS Stephanie Vaquer

After The Culling had a video promo (Shawn Spears’ new group) and Trick Williams started a brawl with Eddy Thorpe, it was time for the Main Event of NXT Roadblock 2025 as Giulia and Stephanie Vaquer collided in a Champion VS Champion, Winner Takes All bout! Firstly, this match felt like a big deal, it was treated like a big deal, and the crowd were very much behind both women! Secondly, I thought the match was pretty good, the transitions were really smooth, and neither Giulia nor Stephanie had control for large portions of the match. However, and this was the one problem with the entire show, there weren’t any believable near-falls again! Like, you knew Giulia was going to kick out of the first SVB, and that Vaquer was going to kick out of the Arrivederci Knee! Ultimately, it was a second and third SVB that brought The Dark Angel the victory, but I don’t know, it just felt a little anti-climactic! However, whilst I would’ve preferred this match to happen at Stand and Deliver, Stephanie Vaquer being both the NXT Women’s and NXT Women’s North American Champion is cool, she’s the perfect person to lead the best Women’s Division in the world forward, so I’m very excited to see what happens going forward!
