6 months ago, I made my predictions for the upcoming 2025 FIA Formula 3 Season! Now, 10 rounds later, and the season is officially over, meaning it’s time for me to react to said predictions from back in March! I love doing these types of articles, hopefully I’ll do slightly better than usual (very unlikely)!

P30: Nicola Marinangeli
It’s another year where I manage to get P30 wrong, but in an impressive fashion as Nicola Marinangeli managed to finish 36th in the standings! As I expected, Nicola wasn’t able to score any points all season long, with his best finish being a trio of P19’s! At least I knew he’d be last of the permanent drivers!
P29: Nicola Lacorte
Nicola Lacorte is another driver who managed to finish outside of the Top 30, finishing 33rd in the standings with 0 points to his name! Nicola’s best result was a pair of P15’s, and I was correct in that Lacorte would be the worst of the three DAMS Lucas Oil drivers!
P28: Nikita Bedrin
Nikita Bedrin was a pretty impossible driver to predict this season, with him only being scheduled to compete in Australia! Now, that statement remained true, but Nikita managed to score an impressive 17 points that weekend, meaning he ended up finishing 21st in the Championship! Bedrin also basically scored a third of AIX Racing’s points total this season, and that’s pretty crazy when you think about it!
P27: Matias Zagazeta
Matias Zagazeta managed to do a little bit better in his second F3 season than I expected, finishing 24th in the Championship with 13 points! Matias only managed to finish inside the Top 14 on two occasions all season long, but they were a P5 in the Australian Sprint Race, and P4 in the Monza Sprint Race (this guy really goes big or scores nothing)!
P26: Ivan Domingues
Ivan Domingues proved me wrong in the sense that he ended up finishing 19th in the Standings, much higher than I had him, and he also took victory in the Catalunya Sprint Race! However, what I was right about is Ivan did finish last of the three Van Amersfoort Racing drivers, and by a long way too!
P25: Javier Sagrera
This didn’t age very well at all as Javier Sagrera was dropped after just 2 weekends, meaning he ultimately finished 34th in the standings! I thought Javier would’ve been AIX’s Number 1 driver this year, but it obviously wasn’t meant to be!
P24: Santiago Ramos
Santiago Ramos was another VAR driver that proved me wrong as he managed to climb his way up to 15th in the standings (whilst also missing the final round in Monza)! Amazingly, Santiago achieved 2 wins this season (Melbourne Sprint, Imola Feature), whilst he also finished second in a VAR 1-2 in Catalunya! I can’t tell whether I underestimated Ramos, Van Amersfoort Racing, or both, but either way, this prediction wasn’t very good!
P23: Joshua Dufek
I predicted Joshua Dufek to end up as Hitech TGR’s worst driver this season, and that pretty much came true as Joshua finished 30th in the standings, scoring 0 points as he was dropped after Monaco! Sadly, Dufek just didn’t do enough!
P22: Bruno del Pino
Ah, I was so close here, as Bruno del Pino actually ended up 23rd in the Championship! Bruno’s best result all season long was a second-place finish in the Imola Sprint Race, and I was very much correct in that del Pino was clearly the weakest of the three MP Motorsport drivers!
P21: Gerrard Xie
2025 didn’t exactly pan out how Gerrard Xie was hoping for, with the young Chinese driver finishing 29th in the Standings! Gerrard scored just 1 point all season long (P10 in Hungary), and the only positive with this prediction was I was right to have Xie ahead of one of his Hitech teammates (albeit barely)!
P20: Theophile Nael
The third Van Amersfoort Racing driver I underestimated was Theophile Nael, but he did at least turn out to still be the best of the three! Theophile had a great season, scoring 3 Podiums on his way to 8th in the Championship! This is the highest Championship finish ever for a VAR driver (in Formula 3), so massive congrats to Nael!
P19: Tasanapol Inthraphuvasak
Campos Racing had their greatest-ever season in the junior Formulas, and that meant Tasanapol Inthraphuvasak did an awful lot better than I predicted! In fact, not only did Tasanapol finish 7th in the Championship, but he won 3 Races this year; that’s the same amount as his two teammates combined! Now, I was right in the sense that Inthraphuvasak would be beaten by both of his Campos teammates this year, but still, the young Thai driver had a much better 2025 than I anticipated!
P18: Martinius Stenshorne
This was another terrible prediction as Martinius Stenshorne ended up finishing 5th in Formula 3 this year! Martinius had a great year, appearing on the rostrum 5 times, including 2 wins (Monaco Sprint, Austria Feature)! However, I think the most impressive part about Stenshorne’s season is that he scored 89 of Hitech TGR’s 90 points this campaign, meaning he very much showed his class compared to his teammates! However, one thing that wasn’t class was this prediction; this is horrendous!
P17: Roman Bilinski
I was very wrong with my prediction for Roman Bilinski, for two reasons! Firstly, Roman finished 11th in the Championship, appeared on the Podium 3 times, and that includes a win in the Monza Sprint Race! Secondly, I had Bilinski to finish behind both of his teammates in the standings, and in fact, he ended up as Rodin’s top driver! Impressive; Bilinski will go far next year!
P16: Mari Boya
Oh, for goodness sake! Mari Boya completely left my prediction to drown as he finished third, yes third, in the Championship! Mari scored 5 Podiums this season, and that included a double Podium visit in Silverstone (which ended with a win in the Feature Race)! I’m doing so well with certain drivers and teams at the moment (I’m definitely not)!
P15: Laurens van Hoepen
I was a little off with my prediction for Laurens van Hoepen, as the young Dutchman ended up finishing 12th! Laurens scored 2 Podium finishes this year, both in Sprint Races (Monaco and Monza), and he also beat one of his ART teammates, something I didn’t expect!
P14: Christian Ho
It was always going to be a risk to put Christian Ho this high up given it was DAMS’ first-ever season in the third-tier of motorsport, and that ultimately came true as Christian finished 22nd in the standings with just 17 points to his name! However, Ho did end up being his team’s number 1 driver, so my faith in Christian was at least justified a little!
P13: Nikola Tsolov
Yep, I completely got Campos wrong! Nikola Tsolov did so much better than I predicted, with the young Red Bull-backed driver finishing second in the Championship with 2 wins to his name (including a Feature Race win in Monaco)! The sort of ironic thing about all of this is I’ve massively backed Nikola the last 2 years, and it’s aged terribly! However, when I didn’t back Tsolov, he’s done a great job, so that tells you everything you need to know!
P12: Noah Stromsted
Noah Stromsted’s Rookie Formula 3 season went a lot better than I expected, with the Danish driver ending up 6th in the Championship! Noah achieved 3 Podium finishes this year, including a Sprint Race win in Belgium, and he also didn’t finish last of the three Trident drivers, so that was another thing I got wrong!
P11: Callum Voisin
Surprisingly, Callum Voisin did worse than I was expecting for Rodin this year, as he finished 14th with just 1 Podium finish to his name (P2 in the Bahrain Feature Race)! I am genuinely surprised that Voisin didn’t finish higher up in the standings, and it certainly didn’t help that he only finished in the points once in the final 4 rounds of the year!
P10: Charlie Wurz
Charlie Wurz was another driver who finished 3 places lower than I expected, with P13 being all the young Trident driver could achieve! Charlie did finish third in two Sprint Races this year, and his P3-P4 combo in Hungary was a positive step! However, Wurz was easily Trident’s worst driver this year, and he’s actually what cost them the Teams’ Championship!
P9: Louis Sharp
This may have to go down as one of my worst predictions ever! There was an awful lot of hype surrounding Louis Sharp heading into this season, and my lack of faith in Rodin is ultimately why I put Louis 9th in my predictions! However, that didn’t come close to happening as Sharp finished down in 26th place, scoring just 11 points all season, and he was easily Rodin’s worst driver! On top of that, the previous two F3 Champions both came from me predicting them to finish 9th, so Louis Sharp couldn’t even use that power to his advantage either!
P8: Brando Badoer
Brando Badoer was not someone I particularly rated that highly compared to certain drivers on this grid, but the fact that he was with Prema meant he was all but guaranteed to have success (in some fashion)! However, Brando proved to be Prema’s worst driver in their Formula 3 history, finishing 25th in the Championship (with just 13 points to his name)! Whilst this prediction is stunningly bad, I’m more surprised with the fact that Badoer is still a member of the McLaren Driver Development Programme; that stunned me!
P7: Alessandro Guisti
I was excited for Alessandro Giusti this season, one because he drove well in FRECA last year, but mostly because he was a member of the Williams Driver Academy (my favourite Academy of them all)! Now, it didn’t go quite as well, with Alessandro finishing 10th in the standings, but he did still achieve 2 Podium finishes (back-to-back), and I’d say it was a pretty decent Rookie season overall!
P6: Tim Tramnitz
Tim Tramnitz did slightly better than I expected this year, finishing 4th in the Championship, but I was at least correct in that he beat both of his MP Motorsport teammates! Tim’s highlight this year was his Sprint win in Imola, and when you add that to his other 2 Podiums from the year, things are looking pretty good! However, I am slightly worried about Tramnitz’s terrible form; he scored just 1 point in the final 4 rounds of the year (meaning he should’ve finished higher than 4th)!
P5: Ugo Ugochockwu
What on earth happened to Prema?! Ugo Ugochockwu ended up beating both of his teammates, but he could only manage P16 in the Championship, like what?! Ugo appeared on the Podium twice in 2025 (both P2’s in Sprint Races), but it was overall a pretty disappointing season for the young McLaren-backed driver, and an even worse prediction by me!
P4: Tuukka Taponen
2025 didn’t exactly go as well as Tuukka Taponen was hoping for, with the Finn finishing 9th in the Standings! However, Tuukka did end up as the lead ART driver (another prediction I got wrong), and he finished on the Podium 3 times (including a P2 at Monaco)! Considering it wasn’t a great year for ART Grand Prix as a whole, I think Taponen will do better next year!
P3: James Wharton
Now this prediction sucked! I had big expectations of James Wharton heading into Formula 3 this season, and that backfired spectacularly as James finished 18th in the standings! Wharton was easily ART’s weakest driver (when I expected him to be their best), but he did at least win the Austrian Sprint Race! Still, everything about this is terrible!
P2: Noel Leon
My predictions aren’t getting any better as Noel Leon also finished 15 places lower than I expected in P17! I was really hopeful for Noel Leon this year; he impressed me a lot in his Rookie season at Van Amersfoort Racing, but it just wasn’t meant to be as Prema’s apparent struggles meant Leon finished well down the order! Noel did at least achieve two Feature Race Podiums (P3), but still, this was another disaster (from both me and Prema)!
P1: Rafael Camara
I don’t believe it! After getting every prediction wrong in this article, I finally got one right as I correctly predicted Rafael Camara to become the 2025 FIA Formula 3 Champion! Rafael was the star of the season, winning the Title by 42 points as he took 4 Feature Race victories (as well as 5 Pole Positions)! This is actually brand-new territory for me, I never predict the Champion correctly (minus Max Verstappen), so I’m actually very impressed right now, and congrats to Rafael Camara cause he fully merits another Championship Title!
