Reacting to My WrestleMania 41 Weekend Predictions

Nearly a year ago now, I made my Predictions for what the WrestleMania 41 Weekend Cards would look like! Now, every match is all but confirmed now, so I thought it would be interesting to see how wrong I was when it comes to both WrestleMania and NXT Stand and Deliver! I actually have no idea what I put, so this is a lot of fun for me too!

NXT Women’s North American Championship 6-Pack Challenge: Lash Legend VS Blair Davenport VS Kiana James VS Kelani Jordan VS Sol Ruca VS Thea Hail

Right then, there’s a lot to unpack here! Firstly, the NXT Women’s North American Championship is actually being defended in a 6-Woman Ladder Match, so that’s not a bad start! Secondly, Kelani Jodan, Sol Ruca, and Thea Hail are all in that match, so I kind of got 50% of this match correct! Lash Legend is also on the Stand and Deliver card so that wasn’t a terrible shout either, but I was wrong with Blair Davenport and Kiana James as Blair got released whilst Kiana has been out injured for nearly the whole year! Still, not a bad start!

Andre Chase VS Lexis King

Oh gosh, here we go! I feel like I just did this as a match to put both guys on the show, and funnily enough, neither guy is going to be on the show! Andre Chase lost his University and hasn’t been used much since whilst in fairness to Lexis King, he is the NXT Heritage Cup Champion! However, he’s still not on the show!

NXT Tag Team Championships: No Quarter Catch Crew VS Meta-Four VS OTM

What on earth is this?! Firstly, the No Quarter Catch Crew haven’t been Champions this year, and they’re not on this show! Secondly, Meta-Four haven’t really been a team at all in the past 12 months because Noam Dar’s been injured! And thirdly, I have no idea where OTM are so this Prediction sucks!

NXT North American Championship: Oba Femi VS Duke Hudson

Oh, deary me! Firstly, Oba Femi is on this show as a Champion, but he’ll be defending his NXT Championship in the Main Event! Secondly, Duke Hudson was unfortunately released following the breakup of Chase University, so he’s not been around for months. One thing I will say about this match is I’m pretty sure it happened at some point last year!

Jacy Jayne, Jazmyn Nyx, and Lola Vice VS Nikkita Lyons, Gigi Dolin, and Karmen Petrovic

Yep, this is a case of me trying to get as many women on the show as possible! Fatal Influence (Jacy and Jazmyn) are still together, and Jacy will be appearing on Stand and Deliver this weekend, as will Lola Vice (but in different matches)! Nikkita Lyons has been nowhere to be seen over recent months, Karmen Petrovic is in a relationship with Ashante “Thee” Adonis, and Gigi Dolin is in a Tag Team with Tatum Paxley! However, Gigi is at least on the show, but that doesn’t make this match any better!

NXT Women’s Championship: Fallon Henley VS Cora Jade

Okay, so I fully believed that Fallon Henley was good enough to win the NXT Women’s Championship, and I think the reason that didn’t happen is because new people came into the company and took her spot (hence why Fallon only won the North American Title)! With Cora Jade, she’s just too injury-prone for NXT to truly push her into the Main Event scene, and I don’t think I’ll be putting her in this spot for next year’s Predictions. However, the one saving grace about this Prediction is both women will be on the same card, and in the same match!

NXT Championship: Shawn Spears VS Je’Von Evans

I don’t know what to think about this Prediction! On the one hand, Shawn Spears is a terrible Prediction, he hasn’t done anything in the past 12 months besides winning the NXT North American Title, and that he held for about 3 weeks! However, on the other hand, Je’Von Evans is in the Main Event of Stand and Deliver this weekend fighting for the NXT Championship, and given he debuted after WrestleMania 40 last year, I’d say this is a pretty good Prediction! From Je’Von’s side, though, definitely not on Spears’!

WrestleMania 41

Night 1

Intercontinental Championship Ladder Match: Randy Orton VS AJ Styles VS Carmelo Hayes VS Drew McIntyre VS Ilja Dragunov VS LA Knight

Now what is this?! Firstly, there’s no Ladder Match currently set for WrestleMania! Secondly, Randy Orton hasn’t been anywhere near the Intercontinental Championship. Thirdly, Carmelo Hayes and Ilja Dragunov aren’t even on the show! And fourthly, AJ Styles, Drew McIntyre, and LA Knight are, but in different matches! This is so random!

Damage CTRL VS Bayley, Naomi, Natalya, and Roxanne Perez

So, I clearly knew that Triple H would try his best to put as many people on the show as possible, the problem is I got most of the names wrong! The only member of Damage CTRL on this weekend’s card is Iyo Sky (defending her Women’s World Championship) whilst Roxanne Perez is on the Stand and Deliver Countdown Show, and Natalya is nowhere to be seen! To be fair, Bayley is in a Tag Team Match so I haven’t done terribly with her, and Naomi is wrestling on Saturday so at least I mentioned her!

Charlotte Flair VS Jade Cargill

This probably won’t be the last time that I predict this match for WrestleMania! Both women are on the show which is good, but Charlotte Flair is going after the WWE Women’s Championship whilst Jade Cargill is facing Naomi! I’m wrong, but I’ve also been wrong a lot worse!

World Tag Team Championships: The New Day VS DIY VS The Bloodline VS The Usos

The positive of this Prediction is The New Day are competing for the World Tag Team Championships this weekend! The negatives of this Prediction is DIY aren’t on the show, The Bloodline aren’t on the show, and The Usos aren’t a team! I think that’s about all that needs to be said about this!

WWE Women’s Championship: Tiffany Stratton VS Becky Lynch

Gosh darn it, I was close! I said that I thought that Tiffany Stratton would win Money in the Bank, turn the Briefcase pink, and walk into WrestleMania as the WWE Women’s Champion! Amazingly, all 3 of those things happened! Unfortunately, I was wrong with which legend Tiffany would face as Becky Lynch hasn’t been seen since King and Queen of the Ring last year! It’s more frustrating that I even mentioned Charlotte Flair in this Prediction, what could’ve been!

World Heavyweight Championship: Gunther VS Sami Zayn

Okay, so I am again right to say that Gunther would walk into WrestleMania as the World Heavyweight Champion! Unfortunately, The Ring General will not be facing Sami Zayn as Sami isn’t on the card this year (for some reason)! It’s also quite funny to me that it’s actually Jey Uso in place of Sami here, that’s quite fitting!

Roman Reigns VS Seth “Freakin” Rollins

I feel like I should get half a point for this! Roman Reigns and Seth “Freakin” Rollins in the Main Event of Night 1 of WrestleMania 41 made all the sense in the world at the time, and it clearly still makes sense because it’s sort of happening. The only difference to my Prediction is the match is actually a Triple Threat, with CM Punk included, but still, I’m pretty happy with this one!

Night 2

Bianca Belair VS Rhea Ripley

This is another match where I’ve got 2 participants correct, but it’s not the actual match that will take place! Bianca Belair and Rhea Ripley will go at it this weekend, but in a Triple Threat Match against Iyo Sky for the Women’s World Championship! I again don’t think I’ve done too bad here, even though I did say that I didn’t see either Rhea or Bianca being involved in the World Title picture so I was very wrong about that!

The Judgment Day VS The LWO and R-Truth

I don’t like this at all! Firstly, because this is where I had Damian Priest to be despite leaving WrestleMania 40 as the World Heavyweight Champion, and he’s not even in The Judgment Day now anyway! Secondly, The LWO I had was Rey Mysterio, Andrade, and Dragon Lee, and two of those guys aren’t even on the show this weekend (I don’t think I need to say which 2)! Also, why is R-Truth here?!

United States Championship: Bron Breakker VS Kevin Owens VS Baron Corbin

Okay, so in fairness to me, Bron Breakker is walking into WrestleMania 41 as the Intercontinental Champion, and he’s also defending it in a multi-man match! Unfortunately, Kevin Owens won’t be on the card due to a horrible neck injury, but he would’ve had it not been for that. Baron Corbin, on the other hand, was released months ago, and I know why I had this match because this time last week, The Wolf Dogs were the NXT Tag Team Champions, but this is still very wrong!

WWE Tag Team Championships: Pretty Deadly VS A-Town Down Under VS The Street Profits

Currently, none of these teams are scheduled to be on WrestleMania. A-Town Down Under are all but guaranteed not to be on the show this year, which is kind of a shame. However, The Street Profits are the reigning WWE Tag Team Champions, and Pretty Deadly have been fighting for those Titles for a while now, so they could still appear on the show in some fashion!

CM Punk VS Logan Paul

Whilst this Prediction is wrong, there is some intrigue behind it. See, my reason for this match is I felt like Logan Paul was going to cost CM Punk in the Royal Rumble and ruin his chances of Main-Eventing WrestleMania! Interestingly, Logan did actually eliminate Punk from the Rumble this year, like that actually happened, but it just didn’t lead to anything else. On the plus side, both guys are on the show!

Women’s World Championship: Liv Morgan VS Raquel Rodriguez

Well, now this is fitting! Liv Morgan was the Women’s World Champion for a while, and I’d say she was easily the best Women’s World Champion too! However, she isn’t now, and instead, Liv is entering WrestleMania 41 as one-half of the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions! Her partner, none other than Raquel Rodriguez! I actually think that’s quite brilliant, like they’re both in the same Championship match at WrestleMania, just in a completely different scenario to what I had envisioned!

Undisputed WWE Championship: Cody Rhodes VS The Rock

In my head, the Main Event of WrestleMania 41 made sense to be Cody Rhodes putting his Undisputed WWE Championship on the line against The Rock! Now, I’m 100% right with Cody Rhodes Main-Eventing WrestleMania as the World Champion. I am also right in The Rock still feuding with Cody! However, I ended up going with the wrong legend, as it’s in fact John Cena who will take on The American Nightmare at the Showcase of the Immortals! I’ll be honest, that’s something I never saw coming!
