We’re trying something different today with the Formula E Reviews, as I’m going to go over the biggest talking points from the 2026 Madrid E-Prix!

Da Costa Wins Again

It was more delight for Jaguar TCS Racing and Antonio Felix da Costa as the Portuguese crossed the finish line first to take his second-straight victory! Antonio qualified well, up in third, and he moved into quite the commanding position when he remained in the lead, despite taking Attack Mode! Da Costa’s defensive driving was then on full display, with the Season 6 Champion holding off a number of different attacks late on to take another victory! Following his two wins, Antonio Felix da Costa now finds himself 4th in the Drivers’ Championship, just 1 point behind his teammate!

Evans’ Fury as Jaguar Secure 1-2 Finish

On top of Antonio Felix da Costa winning the Race, there were even more reasons to celebrate at Jaguar TCS Racing as Mitch Evans completed a 1-2 for the team! In fact, Mitch came all the way from 16th to finish second, a great achievement, and yet despite all of this, Evans’ anger was clear for all to see! Mitch was visibly angry throughout all of the pre-Podium antics, with the Kiwi firmly feeling like this was a win that was taken away from him! It was honestly very surprising to see; it felt like it came from nowhere, but there must be a lot more to this whole story than just Evans being annoyed at da Costa defending hard!

The Opposite of a Cassidy Special

Usually, Nick Cassidy is known for running towards the back of the field, tactically saving up enough energy to then charge through to the front by the end of the Race! However, that couldn’t exactly happen here as Nick nailed Qualifying to give Citroen their first Pole Position in Formula E! This meant that Cassidy spent a good amount of this Race at the front, and this clearly cost him big time, with the Kiwi eventually finishing this E-Prix all the way down in P17! Citroen also probably made a mistake with the strategy; they should’ve brought Nick in for his pit boost earlier, but even still, this was the complete opposite weekend than what we usually see Cassidy produce!

The Same Story at Mahindra

Mahindra Racing have grown massively when it comes to performance over recent years; since the start of the season, it’s felt like they have a Podium-contending car at every weekend Formula E has held in Season 12! The problem, though, is Mahindra’s lack of ability to get those top, top results! Edoardo Mortara is doing great; he’s second in the Drivers’ Championship right now, but despite that, he’s only had 2 Podiums in 2026, a total that probably should be higher! However, Nyck de Vries is all the way down in P14, with it feeling like he has incidents almost every weekend! The most annoying part about that is Nyck is quick; he qualified second in Madrid yesterday, but a stupid misjudgement into the back of Pascal Wehrlein’s Porsche ruined all of that positivity! At the end of the day, Mahindra Racing have the pace to win, they just need to take advantage of it!

Home Points for Marti

Pepe Marti is very much starting to find his footing in Formula E, having scored points in 4 of the last 5 Races! Pepe was the home hero this weekend, with the Spanish crowd eager to see their man perform, and it’s also worth mentioning that the sponsor of this weekend’s event in Madrid was Cupra, the team that Marti drives for! The Race itself was a fun one for Pepi, with the Spaniard even leading his Home Race at one point, before he eventually came home in P9! More points for both Pepe Marti and Cupra Kiro is a good thing, and the home crowd were certainly entertained!
