Raquel Rodriguez VS Charlotte Flair

This week’s edition of Friday Night SmackDown started in the Parking Lot as there had been a collision involving The MFT’s! The Street Profits were also there, and Tonga Loa was busted open! Charlotte Flair then told Alexa Bliss that she’d gotten them a WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship match against The Judgment Day at Summerslam before Charlotte took on Raquel Rodriguez in the opening match of the night! This was a decent match, Raquel looked good, Charlotte looked strong, so all in all this was a positive way to start the show! I do think the fact that Flair and Bliss just got a Title opportunity is a bit stupid, especially at a show as big as Summerslam, but anyway, it was Charlotte Flair who able to score the win over Raquel Rodriguez following an assist from Alexa! Bliss will now face Roxanne Perez next week, and I would expect the Champs to lose again!

Carmelo Hayes VS Damian Priest, Solo Sikoa Gets Interrupted

After Tiffany Stratton and Jade Cargill had a video package hyping up their Summerslam contest, police officers wanted to talk to Jacob Fatu as he was a “person of interest”! Damian Priest then had another run-in with Carmelo Hayes backstage, resulting in them going at it in the match on the show! This was getting good, it got better as it went on as Carmelo Hayes once again showcased why he should be a major player in WWE, not just appearing in backstage segments! Priest also did a good job here; he is terrific, but ultimately, this match didn’t end clean as Aleister Black arrived to cause the DQ, eventually laying Priest out with a Black Mass!

After The Wyatt Sick6 had their own video promo, Solo Sikoa and the rest of his MFT’s came out to cut a promo about how Jacob Fatu is gone forever now after ramming into them in the Parking Lot! However, a police vehicle then pulled up to the arena, with Jacob Fatu getting out of the car after being cleared of any wrongdoing! Fatu then stormed down to the ring and got into a fight with The MFT’s before Jimmy Uso showed up to “even the odds”! Adam Pearce then confirmed that Solo will be defending his United States Championship against Fatu at Summerslam, inside a Steel Cage! Oh, and the police then arrested Sikoa (for some reason)! Solo’s acting was really strong here!

Alba Fyre VS Stephanie Vaquer, DIY VS FRAXIOM VS Motor City Machine Guns VS Rey Fenix and Andrade: WWE Tag Team Championships Number 1 Contender’s Match

Stephanie Vaquer then made a rare appearance on Friday Night SmackDown as she was set to go one-on-one with Alba Fyre! This match lasted less than 2 minutes, with Stephanie just dropping Alba with both the Devil’s Kiss and the SVB to get the win! Piper Niven then tried to jump Vaquer after the match, but she failed! This was so pointless, this didn’t do anything for anyone!

After DIY once again took shots at The Street Profits, DIY, FRAXIOM, the Motor City Machine Guns, and Rey Fenix and Andrade clashed in the Main Event match of the night, with the winning team earning a shot at The Wyatt Sick6’s WWE Tag Team Championships! This was definitely the match of the night, all four teams gave us a great show as they tried their hardest to earn their way back into Title contention! FRAXIOM are amazing, DIY are brilliant, the Motor City Machine Guns are massively underrated, and the pairing of Fenix and Andrade is currently working so well! Whilst any one of these teams would’ve been strong challengers for The Wyatt’s, eventually, it was Andrade who dropped Tommaso Ciampa with the Message to earn his side the victory! They’re on a roll right now!

John Cena and Cody Rhodes’ Summerslam Contract Signing

The final segment on this week’s edition of Friday Night SmackDown was a Contract Signing for the Undisputed WWE Championship match at Summerslam between John Cena and Cody Rhodes! Cody came out first, saying he never flinched against anyone until he faced John Cena at WrestleMania, but he is adamant that that won’t happen again! Rhodes then signed the contract as Adam Pearce brought out John Cena, but Cena was pretty quicky to say that he in fact won’t be competing at Summerslam, that he needs a break! This angered Cody who started a brawl with John, eventually delivering a dive through a table before he “helped” Cena sign the contract, meaning their Summerslam contest has to go ahead! Whilst this is absolutely stupid, it’s not the first time something like this has happened with Cena at Summerslam, so at least WWE are being consistent with their lack of legality!
