Roman Reigns Starts the Show, Ethan Page VS Je’Von Evans

After a recap of the Main Event of SummerSlam, Roman Reigns made his way down to the ring to start this week’s edition of Monday Night Raw! Roman was happy to let the WWE Universe acknowledge Seth Rollins, given the fact that this show was taking place in Iowa (Seth’s home state), but he was unable to say anything else as LA Knight made a timely interruption! LA called Roman a fraud, stating that the last time the two of them faced off, he needed multiple people to beat him! So, Knight wants what Seth Rollins got; a fair one-on-one match with no Bloodline interference, but Reigns was against the idea as he doesn’t feel like The Megastar has done anything to earn an opportunity at the World Heavyweight Championship! LA Knight then ended the segment by telling Roman Reigns that he is everything that he wishes he could be, and I’m assuming that we’ll eventually get this match at Money in the Bank?!

Grade: B-

We then headed straight into the opening match of the night as Ethan Page and Je’Von Evans renewed an epic NXT rivalry! This match got plenty of time, with it allowing us to see an entertaining contest between two guys that have a ton of chemistry together! If you ever saw their feud in NXT at the start of 2025, you would know that these guys delivered a great feud, ending with a fantastic New York City Street Fight at Roadblock! Unlike what Corey Graves tells you, it was actually Je’Von who won that feud, and that’s exactly what happened in this match, too, as a ridiculous O.G. Cutter (after jumping over the referee) was enough for The Young O.G. to put away All Ego! After the match was over, Big Cass made his WWE return, flooring Je’Von Evans to send a statement to the rest of the Raw locker room! Let’s see what Cass can do!

Roxanne Perez VS Sol Ruca, Oba Femi Promo

Roman Reigns made it clear to The Bloodline not to touch LA Knight, prompting Knight to troll The Usos and Jacob Fatu, knowing for well that they wouldn’t disobey their Tribal Chief! Jacob then made it clear to Royce Keys that they’re not family, challenging him to a Street Fight for tonight’s Main Event, before The Judgment Day arrived as Liv Morgan wanted to celebrate both herself and Raquel Rodriguez for being Champions! Sol Ruca then interrupted proceedings as she was set to go one-on-one with Roxanne Perez! This match was decent for what it was; it didn’t really feel like a big deal, which kind of sucks given the fact that both of these women were very important during their tenures in NXT! The match didn’t even have a proper ending, with Liv Morgan causing the disqualification, leading to Roxy dropping Sol with a Pop Rox to end the segment! Or so we thought, as Becky Lynch made her return to Raw to seemingly challenge Liv Morgan for the Women’s World Championship, before Stephanie Vaquer made her long-awaited return to take out The Judgment Day! It’s great to see Vaquer back, but I don’t need to see Becky as a Babyface!

Grade: C+

After Oba Femi told Paul Heyman to thank Brock Lesnar for him, Oba marched his way down to the ring to address his future! Oba spoke about how Brock came back to find out whether or not he’d chosen correctly, with Femi proving at SummerSlam that he is indeed the future! Oba then closed out his promo by stating that he’s carrying the torch for the new generation, leading to Bron Breakker coming out for an intense face-to-face stare down with The Ruler! Breakker VS Femi would rule!

Bron Breakker VS Joe Hendry, Chad Gable and Penta VS The Judgment Day

Following his confrontation with Oba Femi, Bron Breakker had to turn his attention to another former NXT Champion, Joe Hendry! This was a literal squash match, with the only offense Joe getting in being on Austin Theory, with Breakker delivering a Spear to get the win convincingly! Whilst I very much feel like WWE isn’t doing a good job with Joe Hendry, Bron needed this badly!

Grade: C

After Big Cass said he’s back to cause a rampage, Chad Gable came out to celebrate becoming the brand-new Intercontinental Champion, with Penta happy to give the new Champion his flowers! All of this ticked off The Judgment Day, particularly Chad’s comment about Penta being the greatest luchador of all time, leading to a Tag Team match between the 4 competitors! This was a good match; it did feel a little bit random, but it was a good way to get all four men on the show! Penta and Gable work pretty well together, whilst The Judgment Day have always been a good team, even if Dominik Mysterio’s star power is on a completely different level to JD McDonagh! The Mexican Destroyer that Penta delivered to JD on the outside was insane, whilst Mysterio’s attempt to cheat with a hammer backfired spectacularly! See, all it did was distract the referee, allowing Penta to nail Dom with the Title, opening the door for Chad Gable to deliver the Chaos Theory to pin the AAA Mega Campeon! Stop having Dom lose so much; he’s literally a World Champion!

Jacob Fatu VS Royce Keys: Street Fight

After a fired-up Bron Breakker made a comment to Paul Heyman about Oba Femi being his new best friend (as in Paul’s), it was Main Event time as this week’s edition of Monday Night Raw closed Jacob Fatu and Royce Keys battling it out in a Street Fight! I feel like I always say the same thing when it comes to a Street Fight; the action is good, the talent takes some good bumps, but I’ve seen so many of them that often times, it doesn’t feel special! We shouldn’t take for granted just how nasty landing on a steel chair is, but when you’ve seen it so much, it’s hard for it to hit as hard as a viewer! Anyway, Jacob would win this match after locking in the Tongan Death Grip on Royce, before Fatu would continue his post-match assault, destroying Keys with a steel chair attack in the corner! Roman Reigns then came out to acknowledge Jacob Fatu, before Roman was met in the back by Rey Mysterio, with the AAA General Manager wanting to run something by the World Heavyweight Champion! Interesting!
