Oba Femi Starts the Show, Ethan Page VS Rey Mysterio
After a recap of what went down at Night of Champions, this week’s edition of Monday Night Raw kicked off with the brand-new King of the Ring, Oba Femi! Oba said that destiny was on his side, that it’s now leading him to a World Championship opportunity at Summerslam! However, to everyone’s surprise, this is when Brock Lesnar’s music hit, with The Beast returning to Raw to cut a funny promo about how Paul Heyman has to tell him what’s been going on as he doesn’t watch the show! Brock then delivered a low blow to Oba, leading to Femi challenging Lesnar to a match at Summerslam! Amazingly, Brock Lesnar agreed, but he upped the stakes by making it a Hell in a Cell Match! I don’t think anybody saw this coming, but this could be pretty cool!
Grade: B-

Paul Heyman was delighted to hype this match-up to Adam Pearce, but he was certainly less happy to see Austin Theory! Pearce then confirmed with Oba Femi that this match is what he wants, with Femi stating that Championships aren’t going anywhere, before Ethan Page took on Rey Mysterio in the opening match of the night! Ethan got plenty of offense in throughout this match, using his experience to work over his smaller opponent! I was a little bit disappointed that the commentary team never mentioned the fact that Page is a former AAA Mixed Tag Team Champion, with a fact like that showcasing that All Ego knows how to handle Luchadores! Sadly, he didn’t in this match, with Rey Mysterio delivering a 619/Splash combo to score the win! Personally, this result feels like a missed opportunity!

Joe Hendry: Live in Concert, Liv Morgan Interrupts Iyo Sky, Jimmy Uso VS LA Knight
The Judgment Day’s Dominik Mysterio and JD McDonagh thought it would be a good idea to trash Danhausen’s lair, whilst Joe Hendry was then in the ring to perform another concert! Before that, though, The Street Profits arrived to thank the WWE Universe, Seth Rollins, and Joe Hendry for all helping them become Tag Team Champions again, before Hendry sang a song about The Vision, and more importantly, Austin Theory! This led to Austin Theory storming down to the ring, getting himself a match with Joe Hendry, which he in turn lost! The match was actually decent; Theory is very good in the ring, whilst I do find Hendry to be entertaining! However, it didn’t feel like this match lasted very long, with Joe scoring a relatively straightforward victory! If Paul Heyman wasn’t happy with Austin Theory before, he certainly isn’t now!

Grade: C+ (Concert and Match Combined)
After Adam Pearce gave Raquel Rodriguez an opportunity to earn a shot at the Women’s Intercontinental Championship by facing Maxxine Dupri, Iyo Sky headed down to the ring to celebrate becoming the 2026 Queen of the Ring! Liv Morgan wasn’t having any of this, however, interrupting Iyo to claim that the only reason she lost was because of Danhausen! In fact, Sky has now pissed Morgan off, with the reigning Women’s World Champion looking to make an example of The Genius of the Sky at Summerslam! This is when the rest of The Judgment Day showed up, with Roxanne Perez and Raquel Rodriguez creating a 3-on-1 attack that Iyo Sky just wasn’t quite able to overcome! This segment ended with Liv Morgan standing tall following an ObLIVion, and I’m intrigued to see whether WWE will be able to keep this storyline interesting or not given there’s still 5 weeks until Summerslam!
Grade: C+

There was no faffing around with backstage segments as LA Knight headed straight down to the ring for a rematch with Jimmy Uso! We were told that this match was happening again after Solo Sikoa interfered at the end of their last match, but I’m not sure that makes a ton of sense! LA doesn’t actually mind Jimmy, whilst I don’t know what Uso was trying to prove! I did enjoy Jey Uso on commentary; he made me laugh, especially as he kept claiming that Knight was cheating! That was ironic given the fact that Jey eventually jumped up on the apron, distracting Knight to allow his Twin brother to score the win! After the match was over, Jey and LA got into a brawl, opening the door for Solo Sikoa to show up from nowhere and floor Jimmy Uso with a Samoan Spike! Knight then followed it up with a BFT to Jey Uso! A Tag Team match at Summerslam?
Grade: C+
Raquel Rodriguez VS Maxxine Dupri, Chad Gable VS JD McDonagh
An insane Lyra Valkyria cut a promo about how she didn’t want to hurt Bayley, but that she’s shocked by the reaction of the WWE Universe towards her! Lyra looked like an absolute maniac here; I loved it! Maxxine Dupri then admitted to Chad Gable that, whilst she meant every word that she said last week, she handled it the wrong way, whilst Chad just wanted Maxxine to focus on Raquel Rodriguez, a match that was up next! Whilst not officially advertised as such, this was basically a Number 1 Contender’s match, with both Raquel and Maxxine eyeing up Sol Ruca’s Women’s Intercontinental Championship! Whilst Dupri has improved, she had absolutely zero chance of doing anything in this match, with Rodriguez dominating her much smaller opponent, eventually scoring the win with a Tejada Bomb! There were multiple matches on this show where it didn’t feel like a lot happened, and this was one of them!
Grade: C
Danhausen returned to his lair to see that his experimental equipment had been destroyed, whilst his New York Knicks Jersey had also been stolen! Liv Morgan then arrived to threaten DH even further, before JD McDonagh went one-on-one with Chad Gable in the Main Event match of the night! Chad Gable and JD McDonagh are two of the best and most underrated wrestlers in the entire world, so getting to see them compete against one another on Netflix was pretty damn cool! This was definitely the match of the night, with a number of amazing transitions mixed in with a couple of crazy Spanish Fly’s! Dominik Mysterio actually came down to ringside wearing Danhausen’s gifted Knicks jersey, with Danhausen eventually showing up with a briefcase full of “Human Monies”! Mysterio then chased after Danhausen, leading to Gable forcing McDonagh to tap out in an ankle lock, before The Judgment Day’s attempt to reclaim their money resulted in a trap being exposed on them! Danhausen then reclaimed his jersey, running off to the hills, only to get booted in the face by Raquel Rodriguez! Raquel is so cool!

Grade: B
Roman Reigns Gets Interrupted
After Austin Theory questioned whether his “thing” with Maxxine Dupri is going to work out, Roman Reigns returned to Monday Night Raw to close the show! Before Roman could really say anything, he was interrupted by none other than Seth “Freakin” Rollins, with The Visionary making it clear that he has come to reclaim the Title that he never lost (it’s 2016 all over again)! When Roman said that Seth doesn’t deserve an opportunity, Rollins pointed out the fact that he can give something to Reigns that nobody else can, and that’s a chance to right a wrong! See, Roman Reigns has beaten everyone, except Seth Rollins! WrestleMania 41, WrestleMania 40, Royal Rumble 2022, Money in the Bank 2016, even WrestleMania 31 are all examples of where Rollins has got the better of his former Shield brother! Roman knows this, and more importantly, Reigns knows that he doesn’t just want to beat Rollins; he needs to beat Rollins! Seth also brought up a good point that this could be the last time that they even get to do this dance, with the new era seemingly upon us, in a similar way to how The Shield were the faces of the new era at the start of the last generation of stars! I thought all of this was great; Roman Reigns and Seth “Freakin” Rollins are wrestling soulmates, and I am more than happy to see this match at Summerslam!
