WWE Money in the Bank 2026 Review
World Heavyweight Championship: Roman Reigns VS LA Knight

WWE Money in the Bank 2026 kicked off with LA Knight challenging Roman Reigns for the World Heavyweight Championship! Whilst you can definitely make the argument that having this match first took away the potential excitement surrounding a MITB cash-in, I honestly didn’t feel this way, as the result felt inevitable anyway! Still, I thought the actual wrestling involved was quite good; LA looked good, whilst Roman is always dependable! The problem with Roman remains the same, though; you know he isn’t going to lose his Championship anywhere other than WrestleMania, and we’ve seen this before with The Tribal Chief! Eventually, despite Knight hitting all of his big moves, a Spear was enough for Reigns to beat The Megastar and successfully retain his World Heavyweight Championship, to the displeasure of the WWE Universe! 946 would then appear in the crowd after the match was over, leading to a brawl through the building with The Bloodline! I don’t need to see any of this again!

Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match

The first of two Money in the Bank Ladder Matches was all about the women as Jacy Jayne, Tiffany Stratton, Sol Ruca, Roxanne Perez, Lash Legend, and Lola Vice competed for an opportunity of a lifetime! What I really liked about this field is that they all felt somewhat new, with Jacy, Sol, Roxanne, and Lola all holding notable NXT Title reigns over the past 2 years, whilst Lash Legend was also in NXT not too long ago! Crazily enough, Tiffany Stratton felt like the most experienced hand here; she is a former WWE Women’s Champion, but it was only 3 years ago that she was NXT Women’s Champion too! Unfortunately, though, having said all of that, this was quite scrappy! The lack of experience didn’t help, with a ton of mistakes taking place. There were still some good moments; I thought Jacy Jayne was really good, whilst her and Lola Vice’s bump onto the ladder (which then fell to the outside) was really good! As was Sol Ruca’s Frog Splash to Lash Legend through the ladder on the outside; that was cool! Unfortunately, though, the result wasn’t the best, as it was Tiffany who climbed up the ladder and grabbed the briefcase, becoming only the second-ever 2-time Miss Money in the Bank! I wouldn’t have picked Tiffany Stratton to win here, but I guess it’s so we can get the eventual Heel turn on Chelsea Green!

Bronson Reed VS Oba Femi

The next match of the night saw Bronson Reed go one-on-one with Oba Femi! I like both of these guys; they’re beasts, to the point where it sort of felt like neither of them should be losing! This was also Bronson Reed’s first match back since the start of the year, so I have to say that he looked very good! As expected, The Vision got involved, with a distraction from Logan Paul allowing Maxxine Dupri to hand Bronson Reed brass knuckles, which he used to nail Oba in the face, following that up with a Tsunami for just a 2-count! A rare Tsunami kick-out! After this, Femi turned into super mode, destroying The Vision as he put Reed down with a Fall From Grace to get the win! Oba is a beast!

Women’s World Championship: Stephanie Vaquer VS Liv Morgan VS Becky Lynch

The penultimate match of the night saw Stephanie Vaquer put her Women’s World Championship on the line against both Liv Morgan and Becky Lynch in a Triple Threat Match! This story has been building for ages, with Stephanie Vaquer becoming Women’s World Champion back on a house show due to Becky Lynch screwing over Liv Morgan! This was another match on this show that was scrappy; however, it felt like there was more of a reason for this match, as Stephanie seemingly hurt herself early on after a dive to the outside! Towards the end of the match, all three women were in contention for the win, with Vaquer sending Lynch crashing onto a table! Morgan would then take full advantage of this, hitting La Primera with an ObLIVion to win back her Women’s World Championship! The fans won’t be happy about this one!

Men’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match

And in the Main Event of WWE Money in the Bank 2026, Bron Breakker, Trick Williams, Kevin Owens, CM Punk, Penta, and Je’Von Evans competed for the right to be called Mr. Money in the Bank! This match was definitely better than the women’s, with the story between CM Punk and Kevin Owens being pretty great! The fact that Kevin didn’t care about winning; he just wanted Punk to lose was brilliant, whilst I thought Lil Yachty played his part well when Owens delivered a Stunner! The MVP in this match for me was Bron Breakker; he was excellent, nailing everyone with Spears, including a ridiculous one to Je’Von Evans! This actually took Evans out of the equation, only for him to reappear by driving out in an ambulance after Breakker finished off Punk and KO with a Spear through the barricade! Sadly, the momentum of the match would then completely die with how long it took for Je’Von to set up the ladder, with him eventually taking a ridiculous bump through the top of the ambulance! Evans absolutely nailed this, but the amount of time it took to set this up sort of hurt its overall impact! If you’re thinking I haven’t brought up Trick Williams, that’s simply because he didn’t really do anything! In the end, after wrecking Breakker with a ridiculous Mexican Destroyer onto a ladder, Penta climbed up and grabbed the Men’s MITB Briefcase, becoming the 2026 Mr. Money in the Bank! Penta winning was the only real positive result of the night, which is honestly a bit of a shame!
