Undisputed WWE Championship: Cody Rhodes VS Drew McIntyre

The November 1st edition of Saturday Night’s Main Event started off big time as Cody Rhodes battled Drew McIntyre with the Undisputed WWE Championship on the line! The best part about this match was the fact that there were no adverts throughout it, something previous Saturday Night’s Main Event matches have fallen foul of too! In fact, this was a constant theme throughout the night, and that meant that each match/the show as a whole flowed much better! The story of this match was all about the fact that there was no Champions advantage, and if Cody was to get himself disqualified again like he did a few weeks ago, Drew would be the new Champ! Because of this, McIntyre kept trying to fire his opponent up enough so Rhodes would “cross a line”! However, that didn’t exactly happen, and when it did, the referee was out cold! See, after the worst ref bump you’ve ever seen, Cody Rhodes dropped Drew McIntyre head-first onto his Undisputed WWE Title before The American Nightmare followed it up with a Cross Rhodes to get the win! Drew really is turning into Kevin Owens; they will not give him another run as World Champion!

WWE Women’s Championship: Tiffany Stratton VS Jade Cargill

A feud that’s turned personal was on the centre of everyone’s minds next as Tiffany Stratton and Jade Cargill went one-on-one for the WWE Women’s Championship! Tiffany managed to get some offense in early on, but she simply couldn’t sustain it due to her banged-up leg! Eventually, Jade was able to bully Tiffy around the ring, dropping her with multiple Powerbombs, before Cargill floored Stratton with Jaded to pick up a pretty straightforward victory, crowning this year’s Queen of the Ring as the brand-new WWE Women’s Champion! I mean, I’m very surprised at how much Jade dominated this match; I would assume Tiffany is going to be away for a bit! As for the match itself, it was honestly too short for it to really be anything!

Intercontinental Championship: Dominik Mysterio VS Rusev VS Penta

Dominik Mysterio’s epic run as the Intercontinental Champion faced one of its toughest tests to date as “Dirty” Dom looked to retain his Gold against both Rusev and Penta in a Triple Threat Match! I actually think this was the best match of the night, the wrestling was strong from all three men, and I have to say, the chemistry between Rusev and Penta is so strong! There were also moments where Title changes were believable, with Rusev locking in the Accolade whilst Penta delivered a wicked Penta Driver to The Bulgarian Brute! In fact, Rusev actually thought he’d won when the ring bell was rung, but it was just Dominik Mysterio using his genius intellect to break up the submission hold! Eventually, after Penta nailed Rusev with the timekeepers’ hammer, Dominik delivered a Frog Splash onto Rusev to get the win, meaning the reign of The King of the Luchadores continues!

World Heavyweight Championship: CM Punk VS Jey Uso

And in the Main Event of Saturday Night’s Main Event, CM Punk and Jey Uso battled for the right to be known as the brand-new World Heavyweight Champion! In my opinion, this match was far too slow for far too long, it took too much time to get going, and I just think it was a bit dull! The final 4 or 5 minutes were pretty good, with both guys going back-and-forth, hitting one another’s finishing moves! The positive about this match is it was unclear as to who was going to win here; there were arguments for either Punk or Jey, but eventually, a pair of GTS’ to Uso was enough for CM Punk to win another World Heavyweight Championship! I mean, it makes sense!
