Women’s WarGames Match: The Kabuki Warriors, Nia Jax, Lash Legend, and Becky Lynch VS Rhea Ripley, Iyo Sky, Alexa Bliss, Charlotte Flair, and AJ Lee

WWE Survivor Series: WarGames 2025 kicked off with the Women’s WarGames Match as Asuka and Charlotte Flair started for their respective teams! Unlike usual, there weren’t any cages on display, with each superstar getting their own entrance before they made their way down to ringside! This sort of added a cool “Royal Rumble feel” to the contest, but that doesn’t mean the match itself was any good! See, barely anything happened, it wasn’t at all captivating, and the saving grace of this one being better than last year’s Women’s WarGames really isn’t much of a compliment! Becky Lynch entering second for her team was a cool surprise, as was Lash Legend being the final entrant, but the problem with that was the crowd had little to no reaction towards the NXT standout! When the match officially got underway (over 26 minutes later), Lash showcased her power but was quickly wiped out accidentally by Asuka’s green mist! This then opened the door for Asuka, Kairi Sane, and Nia Jax to all be knocked out, before AJ Lee made Becky Lynch tap out to secure a victory for the Babyfaces! There really isn’t much to say about this match; it was just there!

Intercontinental Championship: John Cena VS Dominik Mysterio

Dominik Mysterio looked to recapture Gold as he returned home to face John Cena for the Intercontinental Championship in Cena’s final-ever Premium Live Event! I thought this was great; I had a lot of fun with this one, and it’s all credit to everyone involved! Dominik Mysterio went down holding his shoulder after landing awkwardly on the outside, but this was all part of a plan to allow both Roxanne Perez and Raquel Rodriguez to drop John with their finishing manoeuvres! The referee wasn’t at all impressed by any of this, sending both Raquel and Perez to the back, before we got a fun back-and-forth which saw both guys come close to securing a 3 count! We then got ourselves a ref bump after Mysterio moved out of the way of a shoulder tackle, and this is when Finn Balor and JD McDonagh ran down to try and get a beating on Cena! However, they’re absolutely sucked at that task, with Cena easily dealing with both men, before Liv Morgan’s music hit as the all-star made her return after a period out due to injury! Shockingly, Liv punched Dominik Mysterio before she jumped onto John Cena, only to pull the uno reverse card and nail John with a low-blow, allowing “Dirty” Dom to deliver a 619/Frog Splash combination (with a belt shot from Morgan) to become a 2-time Intercontinental Champion! This was wonderful; I enjoyed everything about this, and having Liv and Dom back together is perfect!

Women’s World Championship: Stephanie Vaquer VS Nikki Bella

The penultimate match of the night saw Nikki Bella go one-on-one with Stephanie Vaquer for the Women’s World Championship! Whilst the first match was pretty missable, this one was worse! I’ve said it so many times now, but Nikki Bella isn’t adding anything to the product anymore, like she’s not doing anything positive compared to what a lot of the roster could do! Also, turning Nikki Heel seemingly doesn’t matter because she didn’t look like a threat to Stephanie Vaquer’s Title reign at all during this contest! Eventually, after a pair of Devil’s Kisses (one of them occurred on the announce table), Vaquer delivered her lovely Spiral Tap to retain her Women’s World Championship; this whole thing was a waste of time!

Men’s WarGames Match: CM Punk, Cody Rhodes, Roman Reigns, and The Usos VS The Vision, Drew McIntyre, Logan Paul, and Brock Lesnar

And in the Main Event of Survivor Series: WarGames 2025, CM Punk led his team to War against Team Vision! This was definitely a better match than the women’s, with the flow working better! I thought Bron Breakker, Drew McIntyre, and Logan Paul were all great, whilst I wasn’t at all impressed with Jey Uso starting a “Yeet Encore” during the WarGames Match! However, what I did like was the interactions between Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns, with Brock putting Roman through the announce table with an F5 before Reigns had even gotten into the cage, giving them an advantage when the match actually got “underway”! Roman was a real difference maker, putting Brock through a table of his own with a Spear, but this also took both men out of it completely! CM Punk was looking good in the closing phases, but that all changed when a mystery man climbed into the cage and nailed Punk with a Stomp! This allowed Bron Breakker to deliver a Spear to win WarGames for his team, and I have to say, this was an effective finish! I’m also very glad that The Vision won this match; that was critical for them, and the result also allows WWE to build to a future contest between Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns!
