La Parka, Mascarita Sagrada, and The Aztec Warriors VS The LWO, Lince Dorado, and Mini Abismo Negro

Worlds Collide: Las Vegas started with an 8-man Tag Team match as La Parka and Mascarita Sagrada teamed up with The Aztec Warriors to take on the team of The LWO, Lince Dorado, and Mini Abismo Negro! Mascarita was the star of this match; he was a lot of fun to watch, and the crowd loved him! However, I also quite like La Parka, he’s cool, and The Aztec Warriors duo of Octagon Jr. and Laredo Kid are great! Joaquin Wilde also did another one of his crazy catapults, and I genuinely thought he was seriously hurt as he landed horribly, but thankfully, he continued without any issues! In the end, Mascarita Sagrada was able to pin Mini Abismo Negro to score the win for his team, and this was a fun way to start the show!

AAA Reina de Reinas Championship Number 1 Contender’s Match: Faby Apache VS Natalya

After competing on NXT the other day, Faby Apache was back in action as she faced Natalya in a match to determine the Number 1 contender for the AAA Reina de Reinas Championship! We got the better version of Natalya in this match; the badass who can beat anyone up, and that made this match better as a result! These two are veterans, Faby Apache has been in Triple A for 27 years now (which is absolutely ridiculous), and this was all about the submissions! Despite that, this match ended with another roll-up, and this time in favour of Natalya! Decent match!

AAA World Tag Team Championships: Pagano and Psycho Clown VS The New Day

The AAA World Tag Team Championships were the first Title to be on the line as Pagano and Psycho Clown were set to defend against The New Day! However, it didn’t quite work out that way as Xavier Woods wasn’t medically cleared to compete, meaning Grayson Waller stepped in as his replacement! This match got a good amount of time, and I thought it was good fun! Grayson Waller actually worked really well with Kofi Kingston; that trio could genuinely work, and the duo of Pagano and Psycho Clown are insane! I’m telling you, some of the dives they delivered were absolutely crazy! Despite Waller and Kingston’s best efforts, the Champions were eventually able to retain (via roll-up!) before The Wyatt Sick6 made a surprise appearance to destroy Pagano and Psycho Clown! Interesting!

The Judgment Day VS Lola Vice and Mr. Iguana

It was then time for some Mixed Tag Team action as The Judgment Day’s Finn Balor and Roxanne Perez faced the ever-interesting duo of Lola Vice and Mr. Iguana! I appreciated the video package before this match as it highlighted the feud between Roxanne and Lola for the NXT Championship last year, and in fact, that whole story was the start of Vice being a Babyface! Now, whilst this match was technical for a little bit, it very quickly became a comedy affair, as Demonito popped up from under the ring apron! We then got a crazy sequence between Demonito and La Yesca, which included La Yesca delivering a suicide dive to wipe out Demonito (this really happened), and this then led to the finish as Lola Vice nailed Roxanne Perez with a backfist to score the win! WWE are really pushing Lola Vice right now, and Jacy Jayne (who was sitting in the crowd) wasn’t impressed in the slightest!

AAA Latin American Championship: El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. VS Ethan Page VS JD McDonagh VS Dragon Lee

The AAA Latin American Championship was up for grabs next as El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. looked for a successful Title defense in a Fatal 4-Way which included Dragon Lee, JD McDonagh, and the NXT North American Champion, Ethan Page! This was one of the shortest matches on this show, it didn’t even reach the 10-minute mark, and yet it was probably the match of the night in terms of in-ring action! Dr. Wagner Jr. is such a talented performer, as is Dragon Lee, whilst JD McDonagh is one of the best wrestlers in the world (in my opinion)! And then you have Ethan Page, who is just brilliant! However, brilliance was not enough for All Ego on this occasion as El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. was able to escape with his Championship (to the annoyance of Page)!

AAA Mega Championship: El Hijo del Vikingo VS Dominik Mysterio

And in the Main Event of Worlds Collide: Las Vegas, El Hijo del Vikingo stepped into hostile territory as he looked to retain his AAA Mega Championship against the current Intercontinental Champion, Dominik Mysterio! This was the longest match of the night (by 18 seconds), and I thought it was pretty good! Vikingo is an amazing wrestler; he has a seriously bright future ahead of him (which is crazy to say given he’s already a multi-time World Champion), whilst Dominik Mysterio is so over with the crowd! As expected, shenanigans ensued as The Judgment Day tried to get involved, only to be dealt with by Rey Mysterio and Dragon Lee! However, this opened the door for El Grande Americano to get involved, taking both the referee out and passing a metal plate to Mysterio, which Dominik used to nail Vikingo in the head with! “Dirty” Dom then climbed to the top rope and delivered a second Frog Splash to score the win, meaning Dominik Mysterio is now the AAA Mega Champion! This is actually very cool, it’s crazy that Dom is not only a double Champion, but also a World Champion! But honestly, he deserves it!
