Manchester City 3-1 Bournemouth

More goals for Erling Haaland fired Manchester City past a resilient AFC Bournemouth! After just 17 minutes, Manchester City had the lead as Erling Haaland already had his first goal of the game! Just 8 minutes later, though, Bournemouth were back on level terms as Tyler Adams scored following a poor goalkeeping mistake by Gianluigi Donnarumma! In the 33rd minute, Man City found themselves back in front as Haaland showed great composure to score yet another goal! Erling Haaland then had a great chance to complete his hat-trick, but this time he was denied by Djordje Petrovic, before Eli Junior Kroupi could only strike the side netting! Kroupi then had another chance, this time seeing his effort saved by Donnarumma, before in the 60th minute, City had their cushion thanks to a great finish by Nico O’Reilly! Overall, this was a really good performance from Manchester City! City rise to 2nd in the league, and they have a big week incoming with home games against Borussia Dortmund and Liverpool! As for AFC Bournemouth, their unbeaten run is now over! The Cherries drop to 5th in the table, and they head to Aston Villa next time out!
West Ham 3-1 Newcastle

West Ham United came from behind to earn a crucial first win under Nuno Espirito Santo over a disappointing Newcastle United! Less than 30 seconds after Jarrod Bowen struck the post, Newcastle went up the other end and took the lead through Jacob Murphy! West Ham then thought they’d got a penalty after Jarrod Bowen was taken down, but VAR made the right decision to overturn the original call as Malick Thiaw clearly won the ball! After Lucas Paqueta saw his free-kick effort strike the post, in the 35th minute, Paqueta was able to get West Ham back on level terms after a really poor bit of goalkeeping by Nick Pope! Alphonse Areola then made a good save to keep Anthony Gordon’s effort out, before West Ham found themselves in front right on half-time thanks to a Sven Botman own goal! This was insanely unlucky! And then, in the 97th minute, Tomas Soucek slid home on the rebound to seal a crucial first 3 points for Nuno! Overall, West Ham United have finally managed to win a home game! The Hammers remain inside the Relegation Zone (now in 18th), and they host Burnley in a crucial game next time out! As for Newcastle United, this is a really poor result! The Magpies drop to 13th in the table, and they host Athletic Club tomorrow night before they head to Brentford on Sunday!
Nottingham Forest 2-2 Manchester United

After 34 minutes, Manchester United had the lead through Casemiro, but there was serious controversy surrounding the goal as a corner probably shouldn’t have been given against Nottingham Forest for the second straight week! However, in the 48th minute, Nottingham Forest were back on level terms thanks to a great headed finish by Morgan Gibbs-White! Just 2 minutes later, Forest found themselves in front as Nicolo Savona tapped home from close range! Bruno Fernandes was then really unlucky as his effort came back out off the post before Casemiro poorly missed on the rebound! However, in the 81st minute, Man United would get themselves back on level terms courtesy of a wonderful Amad volley! Amad then came insanely close to winning it for United right at the death, but his effort was brilliantly blocked on the line by Murillo! In the end, this isn’t a terrible point for Nottingham Forest! Forest remain inside the Relegation Zone (now in 19th), and they head to Sturm Graz in the Europa League on Thursday before they host Leeds in their next league game! As for Manchester United, they’ll be disappointed to only leave this game with a point! United drop to 8th in the league, and they head to Tottenham for a Europa League Final rematch next time out!
Fulham 3-0 Wolves

A much-needed win for Fulham resulted in the end of Vitor Pereira’s time at Wolverhampton Wanderers! After just 9 minutes, Fulham already had the lead as Ryan Sessegnon scored after some rather disappointing goalkeeping by Sam Johnstone! Johnstone needs to do better here! Things then got worse for Wolves as Emmanuel Agbadou was shown a straight red card, and in the 62nd minute, Fulham’s lead was doubled thanks to a nice finish from Harry Wilson! And then, to make matters even worse for the visitors, Yerson Mosquera put the ball into the back of his own net! Overall, this really was a much-needed win for Fulham! The Cottagers rise to 15th in the table, and their next game is an important one away at Everton! As for Wolverhampton Wanderers, they’re simply nowhere near good enough right now! Wolves remain bottom of the league, and they head to Chelsea next time out!
Brighton 3-0 Leeds

After just 11 minutes, Brighton already had the lead as Danny Welbeck continued his good run of form with another goal! Welbeck then had another good chance to score, but this time he fired his effort just wide of the post, before Yankuba Minteh managed to drag his effort just wide too! In the 64th minute, Brighton would finally have their second of the afternoon as Diego Gomez tapped home from close range, before just 6 minutes later, Gomez scored again! Leeds’ defending was absolutely awful here! Leeds then tried their best to at least give their fans something to celebrate, but Bart Verbruggen wasn’t to be denied his clean sheet! Overall, this was nice and straightforward for Brighton and Hove Albion! The Seagulls rise to 10th place, and they head to Crystal Palace next time out! As for Leeds United, they were easily second best here! The Whites drop to 16th in the table, and their next game is a pretty crucial one away at Nottingham Forest!
Liverpool 2-0 Aston Villa

Liverpool finally managed to put an end to their winless run as Aston Villa’s winning run came to an end! Morgan Rogers came close to giving Aston Villa the lead early on as his effort struck the post, before Giorgi Mamardashvili made a couple of decent saves! Liverpool then thought they’d taken the lead in the 43rd minute through Hugo Ekitike, and whilst his goal was ultimately ruled out for offside, Liverpool would have their lead right before halftime courtesy of Mohamed Salah! I’ve already said many times in this article that the goalkeeping needs to be better, but that reigns no truer than in this game as this is an absolutely horrific mistake by Emi Martinez! In the 58th minute, Liverpool had their second of the night as Ryan Gravenberch scored with the help of multiple deflections! Overall, Liverpool will very gladly take the 3 points, but they needed a lot of fortune to do so! The Reds rise to 3rd in the league, and they’re set for a huge week with games against Real Madrid and Manchester City! As for Aston Villa, they’ll be kicking themselves that they lost this game! Villa drop to 11th in the table, and they host Maccabi Tel Aviv next time out before they host Bournemouth in a pretty important Super Sunday clash!
Burnley 0-2 Arsenal

Arsenal cruised to victory over Burnley to extend their lead out in front to x points! After just 14 minutes, Arsenal already had the lead as Viktor Gyokeres headed home from close range! Bukayo Saka then had a good opportunity to make it 2-0, but he couldn’t guide his effort past Martin Dubravka, before Dubravka pulled out an even better save to deny Saka once again! However, in the 35th minute, Arsenal would have their second goal as Declan Rice headed home well! In the second half, Florentino missed a good opportunity to get Burnley back into the game, before Marcus Edwards struck the post with the final kick of the game! In the end, this went as well as Burnley could’ve expected! The Clarets drop to 17th in the table, and they head to West Ham next time out for what is a crucial Relegation 6-pointer! As for Arsenal, it’s another 3 points and a clean sheet for them! The Gunners remain top of the league, and they face away trips to Slavia Prague and Sunderland in their next 5 days!
Crystal Palace 2-0 Brentford

After half an hour of action, Crystal Palace found themselves in front thanks to a wonderful header by Jean-Philippe Mateta! In the 51st minute, Palace’s lead was doubled as Nathan Collins headed the ball into the back of his own net! Ismaila Sarr then had a great chance to make it 3-0 just moments later, but his effort came back out off the post, before Vitaly Janelt had a good chance to get Brentford back into the game, only to squander his effort well wide of the target! Overall, it’s back to winning ways in the league for Crystal Palace! The Eagles now find themselves 9th in the league, and they have a big week incoming with home games against AZ Alkmaar and Brighton! As for Brentford, they simply didn’t do enough here! The Bees drop to 12th in the table, and they host Newcastle next time out!
Sunderland 1-1 Everton

After just 15 minutes, Everton had the lead as Iliman Ndiaye scored a wonderful solo goal! This was absolutely world-class, and whilst Sunderland were asking for a foul, it was too soft to overturn the goal! Jack Grealish then came close to scoring as his effort struck the post, before Thierno Barry had a great chance to score from just a couple of yards out, but he couldn’t guide his effort past Robin Roefs! Less than a minute into the second half, though, and Sunderland were back on level terms as Granit Xhaka’s effort deflected onto the bar and in! Jordan Pickford then showed off a great amount of reflexes with a strong save following another deflected effort, before Sunderland really should’ve had a penalty after the ball struck the arm of Michael Keane! Somehow, it wasn’t given, and this is a bit of a farce! In the end, Sunderland AFC will be disappointed to have only drawn this game! The Black Cats now find themselves 4th in the league, and their next game is a big one at home to Arsenal! As for Everton, they needed to take more of their first-half chances! The Toffees remain 14th in the table, and they host Fulham next time out!
Tottenham 0-1 Chelsea

1 goal was all that was needed for Chelsea to earn a massive 3 points away at a woeful Tottenham Hotspur! After Guglielmo Vicario made a good save to stop Joao Pedro from scoring, just 3 minutes later, Chelsea would have their lead as Pedro scored to make it 1-0 after 34 minutes! Honestly, what on earth were Tottenham doing here?! Joao Pedro was then once again denied by Vicario, before Rodrigo Bentancur was lucky not to receive a straight red card after multiple incidents right before halftime! Mohammed Kudus then forced Robert Sanchez into making a decent save, before Enzo Fernadez arguably should’ve been sent off for a raised boot! The referee was being very lenient! Chelsea then had more chances to extend their lead, but they just couldn’t take their chances (not that it ultimately mattered much)! In the end, this was a really disappointing performance from Tottenham Hotspur! Spurs drop to 6th in the league, and they face FC Copenhagen and Manchester United before the International Break! As for Chelsea, they’ll be disappointed that they didn’t win this game by more! The Blues rise to 7th in the table, and they face Qarabag FK in the Champions League tomorrow night before they host Wolves in their next league game!
