Coventry City picked up a much-needed 3 points to pile more misery onto Sunderland AFC! After 17 minutes, Coventry found themselves in front as Tatsuhiro Sakamoto scored following a poor mix-up at the back by Sunderland! Brian Brobbey then found himself in on goal with a chance to equalise, but he poorly dragged his effort well wide of the target, before Victor Torp struck the post with a well-taken free-kick! In the 37th minute, after Luke O’Nien gave the ball away cheaply, Taiwo Awoniyi made it 2-0 via a helpful deflection off Omar Alderete! Just 7 minutes into the second half, Coventry had a third as Jack Rudoni scored following another helpful deflection off Alderete! Sunderland would then receive a penalty following a handball by Ethan Pinnock, with Enzo Le Fee stepping up and scoring to get Sunderland back into the game with 23 minutes (of normal time) left to play! Then, just to make matters even worse for Sunderland and Omar Alderete, he got himself sent off in stoppage time! Overall, this was a much-needed win for Coventry City! The Sky Blues rise to 16th in the table, and they’ll head to Everton next time out! As for Sunderland AFC, their woeful run in the league continues! The Black Cats remain bottom of the league, and they have a big week incoming with home games against both Dinamo Zagreb and Chelsea!

Hull 2-2 Ipswich

After 22 minutes, Ipswich found themselves in front as Florentino fired the ball home from close range, but I want to praise Abdoul Ouattara as his set-up play was excellent! Julio Enciso then thought he’d doubled Ipswich’s lead, only for his goal to be ruled out for a foul in the build-up, before Emersonn wasted a good opportunity to make it 2-0 in the second half! Just moments later, in the 58th minute, Hull were back on level terms courtesy of Tim Iroegbunam, and what on earth was Dara O’Shea doing?! In the 68th minute, Hull found themselves in front as Oli McBurnie fired his direct free-kick into the bottom right-hand corner! But then, in the 74th minute, Ipswich would find themselves back on level terms as Julio Enciso would get his goal in emphatic style! Brooke Norton-Cuffy would then have a chance to win it for Hull late on, but his effort was saved by Christian Walton! In the end, Hull City will be slightly frustrated that their winless run continues! The Tigers drop to 11th in the league, and they’ll head to Arsenal next time out! As for Ipswich Town, it’s another point for them! The Tractor Boys drop to 14th in the table, and their next game sees them host Bournemouth on Sunday!

Chelsea 2-0 Manchester United

Manchester United made history as Chelsea got back to winning ways at Stamford Bridge! Estevao thought he’d given Chelsea the lead early on, although he was miles offside, before Bruno Fernandes blasted a great opportunity over the bar! Matheus Cunha then thought he’d put Manchester United in front after 34 minutes, but he too saw his goal ruled out for offside, before Moises Caicedo hit the post! Amad then had a great chance to give Manchester United the lead, but he also was unable to keep his effort down, before Chelsea finally found themselves in front in the 50th minute through Morgan Rogers! Whilst Rogers does do brilliantly here, the defending by Man United is woeful! Things then got worse for United as Lisandro Martinez received two quick-fire yellow cards, with one of those fouls even taking place in the penalty area! Cole Palmer would then step up and score (barely) to double Chelsea’s lead! Senne Lammens has to do better here! Amazingly, Estevao scored again, only for it to get ruled out again, before Mike Penders pulled off a great save to tip Bryan Mbeumo’s effort onto the crossbar! Overall, it’s a rare win and clean sheet combo for Chelsea! The Blues rise to 4th in the league, and they’ll head to Sunderland next time out! As for Manchester United, they’re now on their worst winless run this century! United drop to 17th in the table, and they’re set to host Roma in the Champions League tonight, before they play Aston Villa this Sunday!

Bournemouth 2-0 Leeds

Leeds thought they’d taken the lead inside 11 minutes through Dominic Calvert-Lewin, but his goal was rightly ruled out due to the ball coming off his arm! In the 31st minute, Bournemouth would find themselves in front as Evanilson scored following a horrendous mistake by James Trafford! What is he doing?! And then, after missing a couple of chances in the second half, Bournemouth would have their second goal of the game as Amine Adli scored in the 94th minute to seal all 3 points for the hosts! Overall, AFC Bournemouth’s incredible run of form continues! The Cherries rise to 8th in the league, and they’ll head to Sparta Prague for some Europa League action on Thursday, before another trip to Ipswich in their next league game! As for Leeds United, they shot themselves in the foot here! The Whites drop to 12th in the table, and they’ll host Tottenham next time out!

Tottenham 2-0 Crystal Palace

After just 13 minutes, Crystal Palace were already in a spot of bother as Jean-Philippe Mateta was shown a straight red card for a dangerous tackle on Micky van de Ven! In the 25th minute, Tottenham would find themselves in front as Archie Gray headed home at the back post! In the second half, Dominic Solanke forced a strong save out of Dean Henderson, before Solanke pulled off a big block down at the other end to deny Dwight McNeil! In the 73rd minute, at the second time of asking, Jan Paul van Hecke would get his goal to seal all 3 points for Spurs, before Mohammed Kudus would then miss a sitter at the back post! Overall, it’s now 3 straight wins for Tottenham Hotspur! Spurs rise to 9th in the league, and they’ll head to Leeds next time out! As for Crystal Palace, they’re really struggling right now! The Eagles now find themselves inside the Relegation Zone (in 18th), and they’ve got a big game this Thursday against Hoffenheim, before they’ll host Liverpool in their next league game!

Brentford 2-0 Nottingham Forest

Igor Thiago was unable to guide his early effort on target, whilst James McAtee came within a whisker of curling Nottingham Forest in front! In the 30th minute, Brentford would find themselves in front courtesy of a rather fortunate Nikola Milenkovic own goal! Mathias Jensen would then see his free-kick effort crash off against the crossbar, before Ryan Yates wasted a golden opportunity to equalise for Nottingham Forest in the second half! And then, in the 76th minute, Brentford would have their second goal of the game as Igor Thiago scored following another deflection off Milenkovic! Overall, Brentford needed this result! The Bees remain 6th in the league, and their next game should be a pretty fun one away at Brighton! As for Nottingham Forest, nothing is going right for them at the moment! Forest remain inside the Relegation Zone (now in 19th), and they’ll host Manchester City next time out!

Aston Villa 1-1 Fulham

Alex Iwobi wasted a good opportunity to give Fulham the lead early on, before Aston Villa were awarded a penalty after a handball by Sander Berge! John McGinn would then step up from 12 yards out, only to see his effort rattle off the crossbar, before Zion Suzuki pulled off an outstanding save to deny Oscar Bobb! I can’t believe neither team scored here! In the 39th minute, we would get the first goal of the game as Nicolas Jackson did brilliantly well to give Aston Villa the lead! In the second half, Bernd Leno showed strong reactions to keep Villa’s deflected effort out, before Iwobi had his effort saved by Suzuki! However, just a minute later, Fulham were back on level terms in the 64th minute as Zion Suzuki scored one of the worst own goals that you’re ever likely to see! What a disaster! Villa would then have a great chance to win the game late on, but Pau Torres was only able to guide his headed effort wide of the target! In the end, Aston Villa completely threw away 2 points here! Villa now find themselves 10th in the league, and they’re about to play FC Barcelona at the Nou Camp tonight, before they head to Manchester United in what is a massive week for the club! As for Fulham, this is a good result for them! The Cottagers stay 15th in the table, and they’ll host Newcastle next time out!

Liverpool 0-1 Arsenal

Arsenal showed why they’re Champions with a clutch away win over Liverpool at Anfield! After 16 minutes, Arsenal found themselves in front as Kai Havertz found the back of the net after a good cross by Declan Rice! I will say, though, that this was far too easy for Arsenal! Jurrien Timber would then pull back the shirt of Alexander Isak in the penalty area, with no foul being given as Isak never went down claiming for one! The PGMOL (sorry, Pro Ref) is a joke! Isak would then drag another effort wide of the target, before Florian Wirtz struck the crossbar from a free-kick! Alexis Mac Allister then had a great chance to equalise for Liverpool, but he poorly headed the ball over the bar, before Alisson made a great save to keep Christos Tzolis’ second-half effort out! In the end, Liverpool failed to register a single shot on target in this game! The Reds drop to 5th in the table, and they’re set for away trips to both Fenerbahçe and Crystal Palace over the next 7 days! As for Arsenal, this is a big win for them! The Gunners now find themselves top of the league, and they’ll face Slavia Prague in the Champions League on Wednesday, before they host Hull in their next league game!

Manchester City 0-1 Brighton

Manchester City suffered another setback as Brighton and Hove Albion’s terrific season continued! After just 11 minutes, it was Brighton who found themselves in front as Yasin Ayari found the back of the net following a poor bit of defending by Matheus Nunes! Iliman Ndiaye then had a golden chance to equalise for Manchester City, but he could only head the ball wide of the target, before Maxim De Cuyper blasted his second-half effort completely off target! Ndiaye would then have his effort topped onto the crossbar by Bart Verbruggen, before Verbruggen pulled off a wonderful save to deny Matheus Nunes! Ndiaye would then miss another opportunity; this time he hit the post, before Nico O’Reilly headed the ball just off target after another initial save by Verbruggen! In the end, it’s the second week in a row where Manchester City failed to take their chances! City drop to second in the league, and they’ve got a big week incoming with away trips to RB Leipzig and Nottingham Forest! As for Brighton and Hove Albion, what a win this is for them! The Seagulls remain third in the table, and they’ll head to Getafe next time out, before a big week league clash at home against Brentford!

Newcastle 0-1 Everton

Thierno Barry found himself with a great opportunity to give Everton the lead in the first half, but he completely failed when attempting to get a proper connection on the ball, before Harrison Armstrong missed a great chance to make it 1-0 just before halftime! 4 minutes into the second half, Everton would have the lead as Thierno Barry got his goal after a terrible bit of goalkeeping by Lukas Hornicek! Hornicek then made up for it a little bit with a good save to keep Newcastle in the game, before Anthony Elanga somehow failed to score as his effort came back out off the post! Yoane Wissa then had a great chance to equalise, but his effort was kept out well by Jordan Pickford, before things got even worse for Newcastle as Jacob Ramsey received 2 quick-fire yellow cards to get sent off in the 98th minute! In the end, Newcastle United were pretty useless in this game! The Magpies drop to 13th in the table, and they’ll head to Fulham next time out! As for Everton, this is a strong win for them! The Toffees rise to 7th in the league, and their next game sees them host Coventry on Friday Night Football!
