Dallas Cowboys @ Philadelphia Eagles

The 2025 NFL Season kicks off in style as the Philadelphia Eagles start their Super Bowl defense against the Dallas Cowboys! The Philadelphia Eagles enter the new season as the reigning Super Bowl Champions, and they only have their eyes set on going back-to-back! As for Dallas, they were disappointing last year, but they will be aiming to return to the Playoffs next January! In the end, I fully expect The Eagles to win this game! It would be crazy to go against Philly in Week 1; I’d be stunned if Dallas caused an upset!
Kansas City Chiefs @ Los Angeles Chargers

Live from Sao Paulo, Brazil, two AFC West Rivals collided as the Los Angeles Chargers face the Kansas City Chiefs! Whilst the Los Angeles Chargers may have had a good Regular Season last time out, they will be hoping for more than just a loss in the Wild Card Round! As for Kansas City, their shot at making history fell apart at Super Bowl 59, but that might only make them even hungrier for success! In the end, I’m going to say The Chiefs will edge this game, just! I really could go either way here, I think there’s compelling cases for both sides, but for now, I’m going to stick with KC!
Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Atlanta Falcons

The Atlanta Falcons just about ended up with a negative record last season, and they’ll be hoping to flip that this time around! As for Tampa Bay, they did well to win the NFC South last year, but them failing to take advantage of being at home (in the Wild Card Round) will have frustrated them! In the end, I expect The Bucs to get off to a winning start in this one! I think Tampa Bay are the clear favourites to once again win the NFC South, and they should show that here!
Cincinnati Bengals @ Cleveland Browns

The Cleveland Browns managed to win just 3 games in all of 2024, and to say they need to do better than that this year would be an understatement! As for Cincinnati, it’s incredibly unclear as to how well this team might perform in 2025, but you can bet that Joe Burrow will be one of the players of the season (as long as he doesn’t get injured)! In the end, I think The Bengals will win comfortably here! Whilst there are an awful lot of question marks surrounding both of these teams, I can’t see Burrow losing here!
Miami Dolphins @ Indianapolis Colts

The Indianapolis Colts failed to make the Playoffs last year, and since then, they’ve acquired Daniel Jones as their new starting Quarterback! As for Miami, another injury-prone year for Tua Tagovailoa meant they could only manage an 8-9 record, but The Dolphins know what they can achieve if their main man stays fit! In the end, I’d be very surprised if Miami didn’t win this game! You guys know by now how highly I rate Tua, and I also think The Colts might suck in 2025!
Las Vegas Raiders @ New England Patriots

The New England Patriots managed to win just 4 games last season, and yet their optimism should be a little higher for this year’s campaign! As for Las Vegas, they also finished 4-13 last year, but they too should feel a little better now that Pete Carroll’s in charge! In the end, I think I’m going to back New England to win this game! This is actually a really hard one to call, I’m going back-and-forth on it, but I will back The Patriots based on home-field advantage!
Arizona Cardinals @ New Orleans Saints

The New Orleans Saints were pretty shocking last year, and they don’t look to be any better heading into the 2025 Season! As for Arizona, they ended last year 8-9, but they’ll be aiming for more this time around! In the end, I would expect The Cardinals to get the job done here! I think New Orleans look pretty hopeless honestly; I expect them to lose the vast majority of their schedule!
Pittsburgh Steelers @ New York Jets

After playing in opposite jersey’s this time last year, Aaron Rodgers and Justin Fields start a new chapter of their careers as the New York Jets host the Pittsburgh Steelers at MetLife Stadium! The New York Jets had another very disappointing season last time around, and they’ve since gotten rid of Rodgers for Fields! As for Pittsburgh, they ended last season with yet another Playoff appearance, and the aim for them is to start winning in the Playoffs again! In the end, I think Aaron Rodgers will start his Steelers career 1-0! Pittsburgh always win more games than they lose in a Regular Season, and I’m not convinced by New York at all!
New York Giants @ Washington Commanders

The Washington Commanders did brilliantly to make it to the NFC Championship Game last year, and now the question is how will Jayden Daniels perform in his second year in the league?! As for New York, they were the Number 1 worst team in the entire NFC last year, and they’ve decided to try and rectify that with the signing of Russell Wilson! In the end, I expect Washington to win this game easily! The Commanders are simply a much stronger side than The Giants!
Carolina Panthers @ Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jacksonville Jaguars were very disappointing last season, winning just 4 games, and I’m not sure optimism is too high heading into this campaign (either)! As for Carolina, they did better last year in the sense that they didn’t finish last in the NFC South, but that still doesn’t mean that they were particularly any good! In the end, I’m going to say that The Jags will start their season with a win! If you’ve read any of my Pre-Season articles, you would know that I think both of these teams are pretty useless, but Jacksonville should win here!
Tennessee Titans @ Denver Broncos

The Denver Broncos did a great job to make it back to the Playoffs last season, and a second-season Bo Nix combined with arguably the best defense in the league gives the franchise an awful lot of optimism! As for Tennessee, they were the worst team in the National Football League last year, and they’ll be hoping that Number 1 Overall Pick Cam Ward turns out to be something special! In the end, Denver should walk this! This could be a very long afternoon for Ward and The Titans!
San Francisco 49ers @ Seattle Seahawks

An iconic rivalry takes place in Week 1 as the San Francisco 49ers take on the Seattle Seahawks at Lumen Field! The Seattle Seahawks once again found out last year that having a positive record doesn’t guarantee you Playoff Football, and now their offense is led by (former 49er) Sam Darnold! As for San Francisco, they had a horrendous 2024 campaign, finishing bottom of the NFC West with just 6 wins to their name, but despite that, their hopes are high! In the end, I think The Niners will do enough to start their season with a victory! Seattle have a whole new offense this year, it will take time for them to gel, and I think San Francisco are out to prove a point!
Detroit Lions @ Green Bay Packers

Two NFC North Rivals collide as the Detroit Lions take on the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field! The Green Bay Packers were successful enough last year to make the Playoffs, but they’ll want more than just a Wild Card exit this time around! As for Detroit, they were the team to beat in the Regular Season last year, and yet they lost in their first Playoff game (convincingly too)! In the end, I’m actually going to say that The Packers will win here! I feel like Detroit are the best team in the NFC heading into the new season, but I don’t know, I think Green Bay might just take it!
Houston Texans @ Los Angeles Rams

The Los Angeles Rams did a great job last year to win the NFC West and make it to the Divisional Round, and now they’re hopeful for more! As for Houston, they once again won the AFC South last year before they once again lost to Kansas City in the Playoffs! In the end, I’m going to back Houston here! For me, The Texans have everything to be an outside shot at the Super Bowl this year, and whilst The Rams are always a threat, I think the visitors will get themselves a big road W!
Baltimore Ravens @ Buffalo Bills

The game of the weekend takes place on Sunday Night Football as the Baltimore Ravens clash with the Buffalo Bills in a battle between two Super Bowl-hopefuls! The Buffalo Bills once again lost to the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game, and they cannot afford for that to keep happening! As for Baltimore, they won the AFC North last year, but they couldn’t make it past the Divisional Round (where they lost at this ground)! In the end, I will back The Bills to win, simply based on home-field advantage! Buffalo are my pick to win Super Bowl 60 whilst Baltimore were Number 1 in my Power Rankings, so this should be a cracker!
Minnesota Vikings @ Chicago Bears

The final game of Week 1 sees the Minnesota Vikings head down to Chicago to face The Bears on Monday Night Football! The Chicago Bears comprehensively finished bottom of last year’s NFC North, and they won’t want to be the only team from that Division not in the Playoffs for another season-running! As for Minnesota, somehow 14-3 wasn’t enough to win their Division last year, and they ultimately paid for that in the Playoffs (losing in LA in the Wild Card Round)! In the end, I think Minnesota should be winning this game! This is the big debut test for J.J. McCarthy, against a fellow 2024 Draftee in Caleb Williams, and I think he’ll pass with flying colours!

Go Hawks!
