Pierre Sage’s first game at Selhurst Park sees Crystal Palace host Manchester City, live on Friday Night Football! Crystal Palace lost 2-0 at Everton last time out, and they currently sit 16th in the table! When it comes to Manchester City, they secured a late comeback win over Bournemouth in their opening game of the season, and they currently find themselves 8th in the league! In their previous 29 meetings, The Eagles have won 4 games compared to 20 wins for City! For Crystal Palace, Pierre Sage cannot afford to start his tenure with 2 defeats from 2! As for Manchester City, 2 wins from 2 would be a positive start for Enzo Maresca!

My Prediction: 1-2

Liverpool VS Nottingham Forest

Liverpool scored a 99th-minute penalty to rescue a point away at Newcastle last time out, and they currently find themselves in 10th position! When it comes to Nottingham Forest, they’ve suffered two home defeats against Leeds over the past 7 days (without scoring a goal), and they currently sit 15th in the table! In their previous 9 meetings, The Reds have won 5 times, whilst Forest have won 3 times! For Liverpool, Andoni Iraola needs to start his Anfield tenure the way he means to go on! As for Nottingham Forest, Oliver Glasner would 100% take a point from this game!

My Prediction: 2-0

Bournemouth VS Everton

Bournemouth’s unbeaten run came to an end last time out with a late defeat at Manchester City, and they currently sit 13th in the table! When it comes to Everton, they’ve started their season with strong wins over both Crystal Palace (2-0) and Preston (0-4) in the past week, and they currently find themselves inside the Top 4! In their previous 21 meetings, The Cherries have won 11 games compared to 8 wins for Everton! Interestingly, 4 of the last 5 competitive meetings between these two sides has ended with the away team picking up the victory! For AFC Bournemouth, it’s important for Marco Rose to pick up a victory from this game! As for Everton, they’ll be hoping that their positive away form from last season continues into this season!

My Prediction: 1-1

Coventry VS Hull

Coventry’s first Premier League home game for 25 years just so happens to be against fellow newly-promoted Hull! Coventry lost 3-0 at Arsenal in the opening game of the Premier League season, before they followed it up with a 4-2 win away at Plymouth! Coventry currently find themselves inside the Relegation Zone (in 18th)! When it comes to Hull, they stunned Manchester United 2-0 before they beat Stoke on penalties midweek, and they currently sit 5th in the table! In their previous 14 meetings, The Sky Blues have won 3 games compared to 5 wins for The Tigers! Both meetings last season finished goalless! For Coventry City, this is one of those games that they absolutely need to win! As for Hull City, they’re aiming to build off their famous win in their season opener!

My Prediction: 2-1

Tottenham VS Newcastle

Tottenham got thumped 3-0 by Brentford last weekend, before they put 5 past Charlton midweek, and they currently find themselves inside the Relegation Zone (in 19th)! When it comes to Newcastle, they conceded late in a 2-all draw with Liverpool, before they beat West Brom 3-2 in the Carabao Cup, and they currently sit 11th in the table! In their previous 32 meetings, Spurs have won 14 games compared to 13 wins for The Magpies! For Tottenham Hotspur, they have to win this game! As for Newcastle United, it wouldn’t be ideal for them to start their league season with no wins from their opening two games!

My Prediction: 2-2

Chelsea VS Brighton

Chelsea’s tenure under Xabi Alonso has started with wins over both Fulham and Luton, and they currently sit 6th in the table! When it comes to Brighton, they’ve thumped both Aston Villa and Tromso 4-0 over the past week, and they currently find themselves top of the league! In their previous 20 meetings, The Blues have won 50% of the time, whilst The Seagulls have won 30% of the time! For Chelsea, they’ll expect themselves to win this game! As for Brighton and Hove Albion, this is a good early test for them!

My Prediction: 2-2

Leeds VS Brentford

Leeds started their season with back-to-back away wins over Nottingham Forest, and they currently sit 9th in the table! When it comes to Brentford, they’ve thrashed both Tottenham (3-0) and Birmingham (1-6) over the past 7 days, and they currently find themselves third in the league! In their previous 18 meetings, The Whites have won 4 times, whilst The Bees have won 6 times! For Leeds United, a win here would be the perfect start to their season! As for Brentford, can they go 3 for 3?

My Prediction: 1-0

Sunderland VS Fulham

Sunderland lost late at Ipswich last time out, and they currently sit 14th in the table! When it comes to Fulham, they lost 3-2 at home to Chelsea Monday Night, before they breezed past Wimbledon (3-0) last night, and they currently find themselves in 12th place! In their previous 16 meetings, The Black Cats have won 4 games, whilst Fulham have won 7! Fun fact: Sunderland have never beaten Fulham in a home Premier League game! For Sunderland AFC, it’s important for them to win this game! As for Fulham, Alvaro Arbeloa cannot afford to start his Premier League stint with 2 defeats from 2!

My Prediction: 1-1

Manchester United VS Ipswich

The Main Event of Gameweek 2’s Super Sunday sees Manchester United welcome Ipswich to Old Trafford! Manchester United got completely stunned 2-0 by Hull last time out, and they currently sit 17th in the table! When it comes to Ipswich, they’ve started their season with home wins over both Sunderland and Leicester, and they currently find themselves 7th in the league! In their previous 3 meetings, United have won twice, whilst The Tractor Boys’ last victory in this fixture came all the way back in 1997! For Manchester United, they have to win this game; no other option! As for Ipswich Town, any type of positive result here would be a big success!

My Prediction: 3-1

Aston Villa VS Arsenal

Credit: DAZN
Credit: DAZN

Aston Villa are in dire straits as they welcome Champions Arsenal to Villa Park for Monday Night Football! Aston Villa got decimated 4-0 by Brighton last time out, and they currently find themselves bottom of the league! When it comes to Arsenal, they started their Premier League Title defence with a 3-0 win over Coventry in the opening game of the season, and they currently sit second in the table! In their previous 28 meetings, Villa have won 8 games, compared to 18 wins for The Gunners! For Aston Villa, right now, they have no chance of winning this game! As for Arsenal, they should win this game comfortably!

My Prediction: 0-3
