2026/27 Premier League Preview: Gameweek 4
Bournemouth VS Brentford

Bournemouth conceded late yet again last weekend in a 2-all draw at Newcastle, before they thumped 4 past Lincoln on Tuesday, and they currently sit 15th in the table! When it comes to Brentford, they could only draw 1-1 at home to Sunderland last time out, and they currently find themselves 5th in the league! In their previous 22 meetings, Bournemouth have only won 4 games compared to 11 wins for Brentford! For AFC Bournemouth, they need to stop throwing results away late! The Cherries are ranked 10th in GPG (1.3), and they’re currently on a 5-game winless run in the league (4D,1L)! As for Brentford, they’re looking to remain unbeaten! The Bees are ranked 8th in GPG (1.7), and they’re currently on a 6-game unbeaten run in all competitions (2W,4D)!
My Prediction: 1-1
Aston Villa VS Nottingham Forest

After drawing 0-0 at Hull last weekend, Aston Villa picked up an important 3-2 win away at Club Brugge in the Champions League midweek, and they currently sit 17th in the table! When it comes to Nottingham Forest, they drew 0-0 with Tottenham last time out, and they currently find themselves 16th in the league! In their previous 16 meetings, Villa have won 50% of the time, whilst Forest have won 25% of the time! For Aston Villa, they need to get their first Premier League victory of the season! Villa are still yet to score a goal in the league this season, whilst they’re ranked 11th in GCPG (1.7)! As for Nottingham Forest, Oliver Glasner is still searching for his first win in charge! Forest are ranked 17th in GPG (0.7), and they’re currently on an 8-game winless run in all competitions (4D,4L)!
My Prediction: 1-0
Chelsea VS Hull

Chelsea’s potent attack is looking to break down Hull’s sturdy defence! Chelsea lost 2-1 at Arsenal last weekend before they thumped Leeds 6-3 in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday, and they currently sit 4th in the table! When it comes to Hull, they drew 0-0 with Aston Villa last weekend before they got knocked out of the Carabao Cup by Sunderland (1-0) midweek, and they currently find themselves third in the league! In their previous 9 meetings, Chelsea have actually won all of them, with Hull’s last victory in this fixture coming all the way back in 1988 (in Division 2)! For Chelsea, they expect themselves to win this type of game! The Blues are ranked 1st in GPG (2.7), and they’re unbeaten against this opponent in each of their last 17 meetings (15W,2D)! As for Hull City, can their miraculous start to the season continue?! The Tigers are ranked 14th in GPG (1.0), but they’re still yet to concede a goal in the league this season!
My Prediction: 2-0
Crystal Palace VS Ipswich

Crystal Palace have had a much better week, picking up wins over both Fulham and Middlesbrough, and they currently find themselves in 13th place! When it comes to Ipswich, they lost 2-0 at home to Liverpool last time out, and they currently sit 14th in the table! In their previous 9 meetings, Palace have won 55% of the time, compared to Ipswich’s 33%! For Crystal Palace, another win here would cap off a pretty perfect week! The Eagles are ranked 10th in GPG (1.3), but 19th in GCPG (2.7)! As for Ipswich Town, they need to sort their defence out! The Tractor Boys are also ranked 10th in GPG (1.3), but they currently have the joint-worst defensive record in the league (2.7 GCPG)!
My Prediction: 2-1
Liverpool VS Fulham

Liverpool picked up their first wins of the season over the past week against Ipswich (0-2) and Atletico Madrid (2-1), and they currently sit 6th in the table! When it comes to Fulham, they suffered a poor 3-2 home defeat to Crystal Palace last time out, and they currently find themselves inside the Relegation Zone (in 19th)! In their previous 22 meetings, Liverpool have won 13 games compared to 4 wins for Fulham! For Liverpool, they should win this game comfortably! The Reds are ranked 5th in GPG (2.0), and they’re currently on a 5-game unbeaten run in all competitions (2W,3D)! As for Fulham, it’s been a torrid start for Álvaro Arbeloa! The Cottagers are ranked 10th in GPG (1.3), but they’re currently on a 6-game winless league run (1D,5L)!
My Prediction: 3-1
Tottenham VS Everton

Tottenham picked up their first point of the season in a goalless draw at Nottingham Forest last weekend, and they currently find themselves inside the Relegation Zone (in 18th)! When it comes to Everton, they left it super late to snatch an equaliser against Manchester United last time out, and they currently sit 8th in the table! In their previous 33 meetings, Spurs have won 15 games compared to 6 wins for Everton! For Tottenham Hotspur, they have to win this game! Spurs are still yet to score a league goal this season, and they’re currently ranked 11th in GCPG (1.7)! As for Everton, can they keep their unbeaten run alive again? The Toffees are ranked 8th in GPG (1.7), and they’re currently on a 4-game unbeaten run in all competitions (2W,2D)!
My Prediction: 2-2
Sunderland VS Arsenal

The next game in Arsenal’s Title defence sees them head to the Stadium of Light for a tricky Saturday Night kickoff at Sunderland! Sunderland picked up a good point away at Brentford last weekend before they beat Hull 1-0 in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday, and they currently sit 12th in the table! When it comes to Arsenal, they’ve beaten both Chelsea and Napoli over the past 7 days, and they currently find themselves second in the league! In their previous 19 meetings, Sunderland have only won once (2-0 in the FA Cup in 2012), whilst Arsenal have won 12 times! For Sunderland AFC, they can definitely get something from this game! The Black Cats are ranked 14th in GPG (1.0), and they’re still yet to record a Premier League victory over this weekend’s opponent! As for Arsenal, a win here would be a big deal! The Gunners are ranked 5th in GPG (2.0), and they currently have the second-best defensive record in the league (0.3 GCPG)!
My Prediction: 1-1
Coventry VS Brighton

Coventry only lost 1-0 at Manchester City last weekend, but they do currently find themselves bottom of the league! When it comes to Brighton, they drew 1-1 with Leeds last time out, and they currently sit 10th in the table! In their previous 3 meetings, Coventry have one win in comparison to Brighton’s two, but they haven’t actually met in a competitive league game since 2011! For Coventry City, they have to find a way to score a goal! The Sky Blues are still yet to score a goal on their return to the Premier League, and they’re currently ranked 11th in GCPG (1.7)! As for Brighton and Hove Albion, this is exactly the type of game that makes this team incredibly frustrating! The Seagulls are ranked 1st in GPG (2.7), but they’re winless in their last 6 away games in all competitions (2D,4L)!
My Prediction: 1-0
Manchester United VS Manchester City

United host City as Michael Carrick takes on Enzo Maresca in a new-look Manchester Derby! Manchester United conceded late in a 2-all draw at Everton last weekend before they cruised past Sabah FK 4-0 last night, and they currently sit 11th in the table! When it comes to Manchester City, they’ve picked up two clean sheets in 2 victories over Coventry and FC Porto over the past 7 days, and they currently find themselves top of the league! In their previous 42 meetings, Man United have won 16 games compared to 20 wins for Man City! For Manchester United, they could really do with a win here! United are ranked 3rd in GPG (2.3), and they’ve managed to score 9 goals in their opening 2 games of the season at Old Trafford (in all competitions)! As for Manchester City, a win here would be somewhat of a statement! City are also ranked 3rd in GPG (2.3), and their record has been perfect since the Community Shield!
My Prediction: 1-1
Leeds VS Newcastle

Leeds drew again last weekend at Brighton, before they got thumped out of the Carabao Cup 6-3 by Chelsea, and they currently sit 9th in the table! When it comes to Newcastle, they equalised late against Bournemouth last Saturday before they won 1-0 at Millwall midweek, and they currently find themselves 7th in the league! In their previous 11 meetings, Leeds have only won twice, whilst Newcastle have won double that! For Leeds United, they’d probably like a win now! The Whites are ranked 14th in GPG (1.0), and although they’re still unbeaten in the league, they’re winless in their last 3 games (in all competitions)! As for Newcastle United, they too are looking to at least remain unbeaten! The Magpies are ranked 5th in GPG (2.0), and life under Matthias Jaissle has started with a 5-game unbeaten run in all competitions (3W,2D)!
