Third Place Playoff: France 4-6 England

Before we get to the Final, we kind of have to talk about the ridiculous Third Place Playoff that took place between France and England! The entire first half showed us that France didn’t care one bit, with England smashing 4 past them as Declan Rice, Ezri Konsa, and Bukayo Saka (x2) all got on the scoresheet! However, in the first 20 minutes of the second half, France absolutely annihilated England, with two goals from Kylian Mbappe and a goal from Bradley Barcola meaning the game was back at 4-3! In fact, France then missed a ton of chances to go ahead, particularly through Michael Olise, whilst England would then get a goal from out of nowhere as Bukayo Saka completed his hat-trick from the penalty spot! Ousmane Dembele would then make it 5-4 in the 96th minute, only for Jude Bellingham to add a sixth just two minutes later! In the end, France showed in 20 minutes just how brilliant they could be, but they ultimately didn’t care about this game as they only had eyes on the Final ahead of the tournament! As for England, this will go down as their second most successful World Cup ever, which all in an all is a positive result!

2026 FIFA World Cup Final: Spain 1-0 Argentina

An Extra Time winner was all that Spain needed to edge out Argentina to become World Champions for the second time! Let’s be honest, this game was pretty bad, with Argentina seemingly having no intention of winning the game! Of course, that’s not true, but it really didn’t feel like Argentina were ever going to score, with them not even having their first shot until after the 120-minute mark! The problem for Spain was they weren’t able to find the back of the net inside 90 minutes, with the only notable moment coming when Enzo Fernandez got himself sent off! This meant that Spain had a man advantage for the entirety of Extra Time, and in the end, they would get their goal through Ferran Torres! Amazingly, Argentina would create a golden chance in stoppage time of Extra Time, but Giuliano Simeone completely wasted it! Let’s be honest, Argentina weren’t very good for a lot of this tournament, and what they showed in this Final was a real lack of respect and fairness, completely losing their heads after full time! On a more positive note, Spain were without a doubt the team of the tournament; with Luis de la Fuente proving himself as an absolute winning machine on international level! Congrats to Spain!
