NXT Women’s North American Championship: Blake Monroe VS Thea Hail

After Je’Von Evans refused to go inside and talk to Ava, this week’s edition of NXT kicked off with Gold on the line as Thea Hail looked to capture the NXT Women’s North American Championship off of Blake Monroe! This match came about after last week’s altercation, which saw Thea make Blake tap out before their match could begin, so Monroe was certainly out for revenge! Unfortunately, what started as a decent little contest turned into a bit of a mess, as Monroe failed to kick out after Hail hit her backwards senton, meaning the referee counted to three! This clearly wasn’t meant to happe,n given all of the confusion that took place, and eventually, the win was handed to Thea Hail, meaning we have a brand-new NXT Women’s North American Champion! What a disaster this was, for everyone involved!

Ethan Page Gets Interrupted (Again), Hank and Tank VS OTM
From one North American Champion to another, Ethan Page was out next to quickly call out Tony D’Angelo as seemingly nobody else cared that he got attacked last week! Instead, Ethan’s call was answered by Arianna Grace and Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo, who said they want more gold in their family, meaning they’re challenging Page and Chelsea Green for the AAA Mixed Tag Team Championships! Before anyone could say anything more, Moose’s music hit as The Face of the Franchise made a surprise appearance to confirm that he will be facing “All Ego” Ethan Page for the NXT North American Championship in two weeks at the NXT End of Year Awards Show! Page-Moose should be great!

After Leon Slater convinced Je’Von Evans to be in his corner for tonight’s Number 1 Contender’s Main Event, Hank and Tank returned to in-ring action on Tuesday Nights as they faced off against OTM! I’ve missed watching Hank and Tank; they’re definitely one of the most enjoyable Tag Teams to watch in all of WWE, and their rise this year shouldn’t be forgotten! In fairness to OTM, this was probably the best match I’ve seen them do; both Bronco Nima and Lucien Price looked good against their opponents! However, having said that, the ending was a bit of an odd choice as Hank and Tank managed to sneak away with a roll-up victory, and I’m honestly very surprised that OTM didn’t win this match!

Ricky Saints Explains His Actions, Fatal Influence VS WreNQCC
Ava told Jasper Troy that a new NXT Men’s Speed Championship Tournament will begin next week, before Ricky Saints arrived to explain his actions regarding him costing Je’Von Evans the NXT Championship last week! Ricky said that he’s always been Number 1, and it’s time for him to fixate on that in order to become the absolute best version of himself! Saints brought up the fact that everyone wanted Je’Von to dethrone Oba Femi, not him, and that’s why they were so happy for Evans to jump the line ahead of Saints getting his rematch! This then led to Je’Von Evans attacking Ricky Saints from behind, but by the end of this segment, it was Evans who was left laying after a Rochambeau through the announce table! Turning Ricky Saints Heel now is certainly an interesting choice of timing, but Ricky should work in that role given he’s working against Je’Von!

Ethan Page was going absolutely mental about everything that’s happened to him over the past few weeks, which is when Chelsea Green arrived to give support! However, that was clearly a bad idea as Ava announced that Chelsea will be defending her Women’s United States Championship next week against Sol Ruca! Interesting! Speaking of, Jacy Jayne then joined commentary as Fatal Influence were looking to snuff out the momentum of the WreNQCC! Wren Sinclair and Kendal Grey do work very well together; they very much complement each other, and Fallon Henley is, of course, nicknamed “The Pro” for a reason! Jacy was also good at commentary (what a year it’s been for her), and eventually, despite Jayne’s best attempt at interfering with the ending, it was Kendal Grey who came out on top after forcing Fallon to tap out!

Jordynne Grace congratulated Thea Hail on becoming the brand-new NXT Women’s North American Champion, but Blake Monroe made it clear that she wants her rematch as she felt like she was screwed! Izzi Dame was then getting even more annoyed as she kept seeing dolls left around, before Kelani Jordan took shots at Lola Vice as she reinstated herself in the NXT Women’s locker room! Shiloh Hill and Skylar Raye then got an earful from Arianna Grace and Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo, before DarkState walked past all four of them!
NXT Championship Number 1 Contender’s Match: Leon Slater VS Dion Lennox VS Myles Borne VS Joe Hendry

And in the Main Event of this week’s edition of NXT, Leon Slater, Dion Lennox, Myles Borne, and Joe Hendry clashed for the right to face Oba Femi for the NXT Championship at New Year’s Evil! The focus of this match was firmly on Leon Slater, with him doing most of the work to the point that he actually injured himself whilst landing on the outside! This should’ve opened the door for the others to take advantage, particularly Dion Lennox, but it just never happened for him! Towards the end, Dion broke up the pin after Joe dropped Myles with a Standing Ovation, and this is when Lennox and Hendry both took each other out of the equation by brawling to the back! This opened the door for Slater to nail Borne with his epic Swanton-450 to get the win, meaning The Youngest in Charge is set for a date with The Ruler! Now that will rule!
