Solo Sikoa Starts the Show, Alexa Bliss VS Piper Niven

This week’s edition of Friday Night SmackDown kicked off with Solo Sikoa and MFT as Solo talked about how he’s put everyone else in the dirt when it comes to challenging him for the United States Championship! This brought out Sami Zayn who thanked Solo for costing him a potential opportunity at the World Heavyweight Championship because now, he’s targeting the United States Championship! Sikoa told Zayn to get out of his ring and off his show, but this is when Sami announced that he’s now officially signed to SmackDown! MFT then attacked Zayn, resulting in both Jimmy Uso and Jacob Fatu arriving to make the save, with Nick Aldis booking a 6-Man Tag Team Match for the show’s Main Event!

After Chelsea Green made it clear that The Secret Hervice are targeting the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships, Piper Niven went one-on-one with Alexa Bliss in the opening match of the night! This was decent enough, Alexa and Piper had some good moments together, and it was Charlotte Flair at ringside who made sure that Chelsea Green and Alba Fyre wouldn’t get involved! Eventually, Alexa was able to score the win, but she wouldn’t stand tall as The Secret Hervice delivered a post-match beatdown on both her and Flair to stand tall!

FRAXIOM VS Melo Don’t Miz, Drew McIntyre Speaks, DIY VS The Street Profits

Tiffany Stratton and Jade Cargill were arguing backstage before Nia Jax said that she wants (yet) another shot at the WWE Women’s Championship! It was then time for the first Tag Team match of the night as FRAXIOM clashed with Melo Don’t Miz! This event was taking place in Boston, Carmelo Hayes’ home, so the crowd were very much behind him! This match was pretty good; Axiom and Nathan Frazer fail to have bad matches whilst Miz and Melo do work well together! There were also some really good spots, Hayes’ cutter and Miz’s DDT were excellent, but after it looked like Melo was going to get the win, The Miz tagged himself in and delivered a Skull-Crushing Finale to Nathan Frazer to score the 3 count! Melo wasn’t happy!

Tiffany Stratton rejected Kiana James’ approach for backup backstage before Drew McIntyre was in the ring to cut a promo about Cody Rhodes! Drew said that he wasn’t the one who attacked Cody last week, and in fact, it was Rhodes who attacked McIntyre! Drew was pretty irate throughout this promo, he clearly doesn’t like The American Nightmare, and he definitely wants the Undisputed WWE Championship! As a segment, Drew delivered everything well, but it wasn’t exactly “must-watch”!

After Solo Sikoa told The Street Profits that MFT are going to be the next WWE Tag Team Champions, The Street Profits were set for yet another matchup against DIY! This was another good match; these two teams have fought each other so many times now, but that does mean that they know each other well! At one point, Candice LeRae sent B-Fab crashing into the steel steps before she delivered a hurricanrana to Montez Ford! However, despite all of that, The Street Profits ended up winning anyway! I need to see DIY win more matches soon!

MFT VS Sami Zayn, Jimmy Uso, and Jacob Fatu

After The Miz got him and Carmelo Hayes a match with the Motor City Machine Guns, and Aleister Black threatened R-Truth, it was already Main Event time as MFT took on the trio of Sami Zayn, Jimmy Uso, and Jacob Fatu in a 6-Man Tag! MFT’s team for this match was Solo Sikoa, JC Mateo, and Tonga Loa, and they did a decent job! I thought “The O.G. Bloodline” plus Jacob Fatu worked well together, I liked the dynamic between Zayn and Fatu whilst Jimmy loves them both (because of course he does)! In the end, it was the good guy team who scored the win as Sami pinned Solo yet again, meaning he’ll probably lose when they eventually fight with the United States Championship on the line!
