Logan Paul Starts the Show, Alexa Bliss VS Chelsea Green

The final SmackDown before Clash in Paris kicked off with Logan Paul as The Social Media Megastar was booed out of the building by the wonderful Lyon crowd! Logan actually cut a really strong promo, calling John Cena fake, and saying he’s going to prove why he’s a real disruptor in this industry! This brought out John Cena who cut another great promo of his own, teaching Paul a bunch of lessons as to how to be successful in this game! Eventually, Cena went out and apologised to the same kid that he ripped into in Belgium earlier this year, driving Logan Paul insane in the process, as John made it clear that if Logan doesn’t sort his attitude out, wrestling will ruin him, not the other way around! This was a really, really good segment; this whole feud has been done very well!

The Street Profits’ backstage promo was interrupted by Bo Dallas before we were meant to have a WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship match between Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair, and The Secret Hervice! However, Chelsea Green attacked Charlotte from behind before the match could even start, resulting in Flair being unable to compete! We then got given a match between Chelsea and Alexa instead, and this was alright, nothing wrong with it at all! Piper Niven wasn’t here, so I’m guessing that’s the reason why the Title match didn’t take place, but anyway, Bliss was able to score the win with a roll-up before Charlotte ran down to make the save, only to get dropped by an UnprettiHer!

Michin VS Kiana James, Drew McIntyre Speaks, The Street Profits VS Melo Don’t Miz: WWE Tag Team Championships Number 1 Contender’s Match

Sami Zayn cut a backstage promo saying he feels like he’s back to his best before Aleister Black and Damian Priest both cut promos on one another! Kiana James was then set for her first match in well over a year as she went one-on-one with Michin! However, it wasn’t a match at all as it lasted just 7 seconds, with Michin scoring the victory via roll-up! This clearly angered Giulia who destroyed Michin post-match, but honestly, what was the point with this?!

Drew McIntyre was then out next to cut a promo talking about Cody Rhodes, and this led to Randy Orton coming out to make it clear as to why he dropped him last week! Drew did have some good points, though, saying Rhodes is a bad friend who took advantage of Orton’s injuries, and this just all eventually led to a brawl breaking out, with Randy dropping a bunch of security/officials with RKOs! I thought they might do this match tomorrow, but it seems like it’s not going to be on the card!

The Miz and Carmelo Hayes had a good chat backstage before Bo Dallas once again walked in, with Miz clearly scared of Uncle Howdy! Nick Aldis was then once again annoyed at Randy Orton’s actions before The Street Profits took on Melo Don’t Miz in a Number 1 Contender’s Match for the WWE Tag Team Championships! This was a good match, the wrestling was strong, and the crowd were invested (which is always great to see)! It felt like it was set for The Miz and Carmelo Hayes to win; I mean it made sense, but that’s not how it went with the arrival of The Wyatt Sick6! See, The Wyatts seemed to scare Miz away, leaving Melo vulnerable to get dropped by The Profits for the 3 count! Please don’t have The Street Profits win Gold again, that would be dull!

United States Championship: Solo Sikoa VS Sami Zayn

After Jade Cargill told Tiffany Stratton that she’s once again the Number 1 Contender to her WWE Women’s Championship, it was Main Event time as Solo Sikoa put his United States Championship on the line against Sami Zayn! I thought this was a well put together match; the crowd were fully behind Sami whilst the MFT’s kept trying to get involved! It took the arrivals of both Jimmy Uso and Jacob Fatu to take those guys out of the equation for good, meaning the final few minutes were a proper singles contest! Whilst Solo tried his best to fight against the momentum of the crowd, Zayn proved too much for him, delivering a pair of Helluva Kicks to get the win, meaning Sami Zayn is the brand-new United States Champion! I’m happy for Sami; he deserves this moment, but it is also a shame for Solo because he was doing excellent work!
