Roman Reigns Starts the Show, Becky Lynch VS Maxxine Dupri

Roman Reigns arrived to start this week’s edition of Monday Night Raw, and after asking for acknowledgment from the crowd in Dallas, Texas, Bronson Reed quickly interrupted to remind Roman that neither of The Wild Samoans got taken out on a stretcher in their careers, and yet that’s exactly what he did to The Tribal Chief! Paul Heyman then decided to book another match between Reigns and Reed, and this time, it’s going to be in a match that Bronson has never lost in, an Australian Street Fight! This then eventually led to a brawl between the two, and honestly, doing this match again is fine because it’s in Australia, but I wonder if Bron Breakker should’ve had the match in Paris (instead)!

Asuka demanded that Adam Pearce book a match between Iyo Sky and Kairi Sane, and despite Kairi’s reluctance, she eventually agreed after a slap to the face! It was then time for the first match of the night as Maxxine Dupri looked to earn the biggest victory of her career over the Women’s Intercontinental Champion, “The Man” Becky Lynch! Amazingly, this was the match of the night; this was genuinely really good! When she wants to, Becky is very good at making her opponents look good, and Maxxine is clearly working hard to improve! The one near fall in this match was great; it genuinely looked like Dupri had scored the win, and the story of the match was also well told as Lynch kept taking her eye of the ball to berate the referee! As a result, after Big Time Becks boasted on the announce table, referee Jessika Carr counted super quickly, resulting in Maxxine Dupri winning by count-out! Honestly, I can’t see how WWE could’ve executed this any better; this was really well done

Lyra Valkyria VS Roxanne Perez, CM Punk Gets Interrupted

Roman Reigns told Jey Uso that he needs to focus on more important things, and this is when Roman questioned Jimmy Uso over why he’s unimpressed by the whole situation! Bayley then accompanied Lyra Valkyria down to the ring as Lyra was set to once again take on Roxanne Perez! These two women are very good at what they do, I enjoy watching them both, but it does feel like this match has happened a lot recently! Bayley got the crowd invested as much as she could, but she got wiped out by Raquel Rodriguez, resulting in Roxanne Perez taking advantage and hitting an amazing tornado DDT on the outside! Perez then dropped Valkyria in the ring with a Pop Rox to get the win, before Bayley dragged Valkyria to the back to go back after The Judgment Day!

AJ Styles and Dragon Lee got into a war of words with The Judgment Day, resulting in them finding Penta to be their third man, before Bayley and Lyra Valkyria attacked Raquel Rodriguez! CM Punk then came out to cut a promo, and he was very clear about him wanting to regain the World Heavyweight Championship! This brought out LA Knight, who claimed that he deserves to be the next World Champion, and this clearly angered Jey Uso, who came out and made his feelings clear! Knight then fired back with a great promo, resulting in Jimmy Uso coming down as Jey nailed LA with a Superkick! Punk then floored Uso with a punch, resulting in him getting laid out by Jimmy! This was an effective segment altogether, and I thought LA Knight was particularly strong! This also set up a Tag match for the show’s Main Event, so it also achieved its mission!

Iyo Sky VS Kairi Sane, The Judgment Day VS AJ Styles, Dragon Lee, and Penta

We then headed straight into the next match as Iyo Sky went one-on-one with Kairi Sane! Iyo didn’t have any backup for this one as Rhea Ripley is already in Australia, but Asuka was very much in the corner of Kairi! Unfortunately, the crowd weren’t too interested in this match, but that doesn’t mean it wasn’t good, with both women showcasing their talents! This felt like a match that Iyo would win; it would make the most sense, but that’s not how it went! See, after Asuka distracted Iyo, Sane took full advantage, pinning Sane with an assist (from Asuka) to get the win! It’s nice to see Kairi winning more often; she deserves it!

After a brilliant second video package surrounding the story between Cody Rhodes and Seth “Freakin” Rollins, Seth was very adamant that he wanted to know what would happen if he was to lose to Cody at Crown Jewel! Heyman said that not only would he lose the locker room and the belief of Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed, he’d also come across as nothing more than a secondary Champion! Rollins then wanted to know what Heyman would do if he was to lose, and Paul responded by saying he’d have to question why he chose The Visionary over Roman Reigns! This was all excellent, both Seth and Paul are ace! Anyway, the odd trio of AJ Styles, Dragon Lee, and Penta were then up next as they took on The Judgment Day! We’ve seen AJ Styles fight Dominik Mysterio a lot recently, to the point where it kind of needs to stop, but I also wonder if it never would’ve had Styles not gotten his match with John Cena! Anyway, the match was fine, and it ended with AJ Styles getting the win following a Styles Clash! After the match, Styles cut a fired-up promo about his upcoming match with Cena at Crown Jewel, and it is pretty cool that that match is going ahead!

Grade: C+ (A for Seth Rollins)

The Usos VS CM Punk and LA Knight

After LA Knight told CM Punk not to get pinned, it was Main Event time as Punk and Knight teamed up to take on The Usos! This was a solid Main Event, it wasn’t as good as some of the other things on the show, but it was still worth a watch! I think the story that’s being told is Jey Uso is simply better on his own, because he seems to be struggling a lot whenever he’s alongside Jimmy Uso! And wouldn’t you know it; it was Jey who took the pin here! However, I did really like this ending as after Punk nailed Jey with a GTS, only for Knight to tag himself in and steal the pinfall victory! This was genius from LA, not only in playing mind games, but it also gives him another pinfall victory, further adding to The Megastar’s claim that he’s the rightful challenger to Seth “Freakin” Rollins’ World Heavyweight Championship!
