The Vision Start the Show, Dominik Mysterio VS Penta: Intercontinental Championship
After a recap of Crown Jewel, this week’s edition of Monday Night Raw, Live from Perth, Australia, kicked off with The Vision! Seth “Freakin” Rollins was in a great mood, praising Paul Heyman, Bron Breakker, and Bronson Reed, before Seth went on about how he doesn’t need anyone to win; something neither Roman Reigns nor Cody Rhodes can echo! I actually thought this was a good segment; Seth Rollins’ delivery was great, and he looked genuinely happy and also proud of his partners! What a weekend for The Vision!
Grade: B

After Rusev issued a warning to Penta, the masked Luchador headed down to the ring for the first match of the night as he challenged Dominik Mysterio for the Intercontinental Championship! This was a good match that got quite a lot of time to grow! Both guys are having good years, and the crowd were very much into it! Also, with me watching this show live for once, I got to see all of the added wrestling in the advert breaks, and that only made the contest flow better! As expected, Rusev arrived to make his presence known, only to get wiped out by Penta! However, this opened the door for “Dirty” Dom to attack the knee of Penta with a hammer, before Mysterio followed it up with a Frog Splash to get the win and successfully retain his IC Title! We’re definitely getting a Triple Threat soon; most likely at Saturday Night’s Main Event!
Grade: B-
Rhea Ripley VS Kairi Sane, Bronson Reed VS Jimmy Uso, Bayley and Lyra Valkyria VS The Judgment Day
LA Knight was incredibly fired up about his chances of becoming the new Number 1 Contender to the World Heavyweight Championship, especially towards LA Knight, before Asuka slapped Kairi Sane just before Kairi was set to face Rhea Ripley! Firstly, Sane had her NXT music, which is absolutely awesome, whilst the match itself got nearly 20 minutes! Once again, this was another match this weekend that got a healthy amount of time, and it benefited from it! Rhea and Kairi worked well together; Asuka’s presence on the outside was really effective, and Iyo Sky did her best to deal with that! Eventually, it was Rhea Ripley who scored the win with a Riptide, but she was later laid out by both Asuka and Kairi to end the segment out on the announce table!
Grade: B-
After Rusev cut an incredibly fired-up promo, further tension rose with The Usos as Jey made it clear to Jimmy that he needs to focus on himself and not risk injury by helping his Twin brother; something Jimmy didn’t ask for in the first place! This then led into the next match as Big Jim went one-on-one with Bronson Reed! This was totally fine for what it was; nothing too special, but it wasn’t terrible either! The important part came after the match, as after Bronson scored the win with a Tsunami, Bron Breakker assaulted Uso, meaning Jey Uso had to run down to make the save! Jey then got hurt in all of this, and he was clearly annoyed with his brother! Honestly, this was all Jey’s fault!
Grade: C+

It was then time to delve straight into more action as Bayley and Lyra Valkyria teamed up to take on The Judgment Day! Bayley and Lyra actually work quite well as a Tag Team, and the pairing of Roxanne Perez and Raquel Rodriguez has been one of the best parts about Raw this year! As always, Bayley started the match all nice and positive, but that quickly derailed once she got slapped by Lyra! This completely fired up The Role Model, who went absolutely wild on The Judgment Day, eventually leading to a Rose Plant for a victory for the Babyfaces! I’m assuming that Bayley and Valkyria will eventually get a Tag Team Title shot, that would make sense?!
Grade: C+
Seth “Freakin” Rollins was so proud of his Vision, telling Paul Heyman, Bron Breakker, and Bronson Reed about how he loves them, and how this weekend has been the highlight of his professional career! Once again, Seth Rollins was brilliant, but whilst Paul Heyman and Bronson Reed were happily listening, Bron Breakker seemed impatient! Maxxine Dupri then announced that she’ll be challenging Becky Lynch next week for the Women’s Intercontinental Championship, before Dominik Mysterio talked his way into getting The Judgment Day to defend their World Tag Team Championships against the duo of AJ Styles and Dragon Lee! Jackie Redmond then welcomed Stephanie Vaquer out to the ramp for an interview, but all of this was done for The Judgment Day to interrupt, with Roxanne Perez saying she should be the one holding the Women’s World Championship! This isn’t the time to do Vaquer-Perez; that should be held off for the Royal Rumble!
World Heavyweight Championship Number 1 Contender’s Match: CM Punk VS Jey Uso VS LA Knight
And in the Main Event, CM Punk, Jey Uso, and LA Knight clashed in a Triple Threat match to determine the new Number 1 Contender for Seth “Freakin” Rollins and the World Heavyweight Championship! This was yet another match that got plenty of time, but that’s exactly how it should be; it’s a wrestling show! The crowd were massively behind CM Punk; yes, they liked both Jey and LA too, but the Aussie fans were going crazy for The Second City Saint! What I liked about this match is I honestly wasn’t sure who was going to win this match; there were cases for all three men, but eventually, a single GTS to Jey Uso was enough for CM Punk to score the win! After the match was over, The Vision showed up as Bron Breakker delivered a wicked Spear to Uso, before all three men laid waste to CM Punk! The show then went off the air with The Vision standing tall… or so we thought! From out of nowhere, Bron Breakker nailed Seth “Freakin” Rollins with a Spear, ending The Vision as we know it, before Bronson Reed delivered a TSUNAMI to boot! Paul Heyman seemed shocked by all of this, but he eventually raised the hands of both Bron and Bronson, seemingly kicking Rollins out of his own group! I can’t lie, having Seth Rollins as a Babyface again will be a very weird dynamic; I think he’s at his best as a Heel, but it’s clearly the direction that WWE wants to go in, and it was certainly a shocking ending to what’s been a brilliant Wrestling weekend!
