Manchester United 4-4 AFC Bournemouth

An absolutely bonkers game saw Manchester United and AFC Bournemouth share out the points in an 8-goal Old Trafford classic! After 13 minutes, Manchester United had the lead as Amad headed home from just a couple of yards out! Marcus Tavernier then had a great chance to equalise, but his effort was directed straight at Senne Lammens, before Bryan Mbeumo blasted a decent opportunity over the crossbar! In the 40th minute, Bournemouth were back on level terms through Antoine Semenyo, but right on halftime, Man United’s lead was restored as Casemiro headed home after an appalling bit of goalkeeping by Djordje Petrovic! However, less than a minute into the second half, Evanilson equalised to make it 2-2, before Marcus Tavernier scored directly from a free-kick to give Bournemouth the lead on the 52-minute mark! However, in the 77th minute, Bruno Fernandes scored a wonderful free-kick goal of his own to make it 3-3, before Matheus Cunha netted home just a couple of minutes later to turn the game around for United! But then, in the 84th minute, it was 4-4 as Eli Junior Kroupi scored another important goal, before David Brooks had multiple great chances to win it for Bournemouth right at the death, only to be denied by Senne Lammens! In the end, Manchester United will be absolutely kicking themselves that they didn’t win this game! United remain in 6th place, and their next game is a big one away at Aston Villa! As for AFC Bournemouth, they should’ve stolen this one! The Cherries rise to 13th in the table, and they host Burnley next time out!
West Ham 2-3 Aston Villa

Aston Villa came from behind twice to beat West Ham United to extend their winning win to 9 games! After just 29 seconds, West Ham already had the lead as Mateus Fernandes smashed the ball home after a terrible mistake by Ezri Konsa! Just 8 minutes later, Aston Villa were back on level terms thanks to a Konstantinos Mavropanos own goal, before West Ham were back in front in the 24th minute courtesy of their main-man Jarrod Bowen! 5 minutes into the second half, we were back on level terms as Morgan Rogers equalised for Aston Villa, before Rodgers smashed another one in to seal a terrific comeback victory for Villa! In the end, it’s another game where West Ham United have dropped points from a winning position! The Hammers remain inside the Relegation Zone (in 18th), and they head to Manchester City next time out! As for Aston Villa, it’s yet another win for them! Villa remain third in the league, and their next game is a big one at home against Manchester United!
Burnley 2-3 Fulham

Burnley’s woes continued as Fulham picked up a crucial 3 points! After just 9 minutes, Fulham already had the lead as Emile Smith Rowe scored after a unique corner kick! Honestly, what is Burnley’s defence doing?! Bernd Leno then made a decent save to keep Lesley Ugochukwu off the scoresheet, but Ugochukwu wasn’t to be denied again as he equalised for Burnley in the 21st minute! 10 minutes later, though, Fulham were back in front as Calvin Bassey headed home after some more questionable defending by the hosts! Leno then made another strong save to deny Ugochukwu a second goal, before Leno made another important save, this time to keep Jacob Bruun Larsen’s effort out! In the 58th minute, Fulham had their third as Harry Wilson capped off a wonderful performance with a goal of his own, before Burnley were at least able to get one back through Oliver Sonne! In the end, it’s now 7-straight defeats for Burnley! The Clarets remain inside the Relegation Zone (in 19th), and they head to Bournemouth next time out! As for Fulham, they need this result! The Cottagers rise to 15th in the table, and they take on Newcastle in Carabao Cup tomorrow before they host Nottingham Forest on next week’s Monday Night Football!
Crystal Palace 0-3 Manchester City

A sublime Manchester City capped off a statement week with a strong win away at a disappointed Crystal Palace! Yeremy Pino had a great chance to give Crystal Palace the lead early on, but he could only strike the crossbar, before Manchester City had the lead in the 41st minute thanks to a great headed finish by Erling Haaland! What a great ball in from Matheus Nunes! Early in the second half, Crystal Palace came close as Adam Wharton smashed the post, before Dean Henderson pulled off a decent save to deny Tijjani Reijnders! In the 69th minute, Man City’s lead was doubled through a strong finish by Phil Foden (after a great solo run by Rayan Cherki), before City were awarded a penalty after Henderson took out Savinho! Erling Haaland then stepped up and scored from 12 yards out, giving him his second to wrap all 3 points up for City! In the end, this didn’t go well at all for Crystal Palace! The Eagles drop to 5th in the table, and they have a tricky turnaround coming with games against KuPS and Leeds on Thursday and Saturday (respectively)! As for Manchester City, what a week it’s been for them! City remain second in the league, and they host Brentford in the Carabao Cup tomorrow before they face West Ham on Saturday!
Nottingham Forest 3-0 Tottenham

A fabulous Nottingham Forest piled more pressure on Thomas Frank and Tottenham Hotspur! Nottingham Forest really should’ve been ahead early on as Guglielmo Vicario made a good save to parry Neco Williams’ effort away after Ibrahim Sangare struck the post, but in the 28th minute, Forest would find themselves in front as Callum Hudson-Odoi scored after a terrible error by Archie Gray! 5 minutes into the second half, Nottingham Forest’s lead was doubled as Hudson-Odoi scored again (from what looked to be an attempted cross), before Ibrahim Sangare sealed all 3 points for the hosts with a fantastic strike that went in off the post (revenge for earlier)! Overall, what an amazing win this is for Nottingham Forest! Forest rise to 16th in the table, and they head to Fulham next time out! As for Tottenham Hotspur, they were utterly useless! Spurs remain 11th in the table, and their next game is a big one at home against Liverpool!
Arsenal 2-1 Wolves

Two very fortunate own goals were enough for Arsenal to scrape over the line against an aching Wolverhampton Wanderers! Jurrien Timber had a decent opportunity to score early on, but he wasn’t able to keep his headed effort down, before Hwang Hee-Chan was in on goal, only for David Raya to pull off a relatively straightforward save! In the second half, Arsenal missed some more chances to take the lead, before finally, in he 70th minute, the hosts found themselves in front thanks to a Sam Johnstone own goal! Amazingly, in the 90th minute, Wolves thought they’d rescued a point through Tolu Arokodare, only for Yerson Mosquera to head the ball into the back of his own net to gift Arsenal a 94th-minute winner! Overall, somehow Arsenal managed to get away with one here! The Gunners remain top of the league, and their next game sees them take on Everton at the Hill Dickinson Stadium! As for Wolverhampton Wanderers, it’s another gutting loss for them! Wolves stay last in the table, and they host Brentford next time out!
Liverpool 2-0 Brighton

After less than a minute on the clock, Liverpool had the lead through Hugo Ekitike, and whilst the finish is good, Brighton’s defensive play here was absolutely abysmal! Yankuba Minteh then came close to equalising for Brighton, before Alisson made a big save to deny Diego Gomez! In the second half, Gomez somehow managed to miss an absolute sitter from just a couple of yards out, before Brajan Gruda came within a whisker of equalising! In the 60th minute, Liverpool punished their opponents as Ekitike scored again to give the hosts a 2-goal lead! Overall, Liverpool took their chances well, and that’s exactly what they needed to do! The Reds rise to 7th in the league, and they head to Tottenham next time out! As for Brighton and Hove Albion, they should’ve won this game, let alone not lost it! The Seagulls drop to 10th in the table, and their next game is a big one at home against Sunderland!
Chelsea 2-0 Everton

After 21 minutes, Chelsea found themselves in front through a nice finish from Cole Palmer! Alejandro Garnacho was then gifted an opportunity to double Chelsea’s lead, but he somehow managed to guide his effort wide of the target! Everton then had a pretty good opportunity to equalise, but James Tarkowski’s headed attempt was poor, before Robert Sanchez’s important touch took the ball away from being a simple tap-in for Thierno Barry! Right before halftime, things got worse for Everton as Malo Gusto doubled Chelsea’s lead after a great bit of play by Pedro Neto! In the second half, Garnacho had another good opportunity to score, but he once again made a mess of it, before Jack Grealish missed a great chance to get Everton back into the game! Everton then came close once again, with Iliman Ndiaye’s effort coming back out off the post! Overall, Chelsea are finally back to winning ways! The Blues rise to 4th in the league, and they head to Cardiff tonight (in the Carabao Cup) before a massive away day at Newcastle on Saturday! As for Everton, they missed some good chances! The Toffees drop to 9th in the table, and they host Arsenal next time out!
Brentford 1-1 Leeds

Caoimhin Kelleher made a decent save early on to keep Noah Okafor’s effort out, before Brentford were awarded a penalty, only for VAR to overturn the decision after Dango Ouattara was deemed to have been in an offside position! Lucas Perri was then able to parry Keane Lewis-Potter’s effort out well, before Okafor had a great chance to give Leeds the lead right on halftime, only for him to blast the ball well over the bar! In the 70th minute, we finally got the first goal of the game as Jordan Henderson scored his first goal for Brentford after a helpful flick off Jaka Bijol! However, in the 82nd minute, a point would be rescued for Leeds as Dominic Calvert-Lewin continued his strong run of form with a fine header! In the end, this isn’t the result that Brentford would’ve been aiming for! The Bees now find themselves in 15th place, and they have an away week incoming with trips to both Manchester City and Wolves! As for Leeds United, it’s another positive point for them! The Whites do drop to 17th in the table, however, and they host Crystal Palace next time out!
Sunderland 1-0 Newcastle

An own goal was enough for Sunderland AFC’s fantastic story to continue as they beat Newcastle United in the first Premier League Tyne-Wear Derby since 2016! After nothing really happened in the first half, Nick Woltemade scored a brilliant headed goal… in the wrong net as Sunderland found themselves in front inside the first minute of the second half! Honestly, this game was awful! Overall, Sunderland AFC won’t care, though, as this is a special win for them! The Black Cats rise to 8th in the league, and they head to Brighton next time out! As for Newcastle United, what a disaster for both them and Nick Woltemade! The Magpies remain 12th in the table, and they have home games against both Fulham and Chelsea over the next few days!
