Aston Villa 4-3 Sunderland

Despite nearly messing things up, a late stoppage-time winner over Sunderland AFC was enough for Aston Villa to move a step closer to Champions League football! After less than 2 minutes, Aston Villa already found themselves in front as Ollie Watkins headed home from close range! However, just 7 minutes is all it took for Sunderland to equalise courtesy of Chris Rigg! Amadou Onana then had a golden chance to score, but he could only strike the crossbar, before Aston Villa would find themselves back in front in the 36th minute as Watkins headed home again! At the start of the second half, Villa had a third through Morgan Rogers, before Sunderland were at least able to get one back in the 86th minute through Trai Hume! But then, less than a minute later, Wilson Isidor finished well to somehow level this game back up at 3-3! Habib Diarra then had a great chance to win it for the visitors in stoppage time, but his effort was brilliantly saved by Emi Martinez, before Tammy Abraham netted a massive 93rd-minute winner for the hosts! Overall, Aston Villa just about got away with it here! Villa remain 4th in the league, and they’ll head to Fulham next time out! As for Sunderland AFC, what a crazy way to lose a football game! The Black Cats drop to 11th in the table, and their next game sees them host Nottingham Forest, live on Friday Night Football!

Nottingham Forest 4-1 Burnley

A brilliant second-half performance helped Nottingham Forest earn a crucial 3 points over Relegation-bound Burnley! In stoppage time at the end of the first half, Burnley were the ones who found themselves in front as Zian Flemming found the back of the net! I do feel like Matz Sels could’ve (and perhaps should’ve) done better here! It then took Nottingham Forest until the 62nd minute to get back on level terms through Morgan Gibbs-White, before Gibbs-White fired Forest in front in the 69th minute with a great volleyed strike! However, if I’m being fair, Martin Dubravka should also do better here! In the 77th minute, Morgan Gibbs-White completed a 15-minute hat-trick in style, before Igor Jesus added a fourth in the 98th minute! Overall, what a great week it’s been for Nottingham Forest! Forest remain 16th in the table, and their next game sees them head to Sunderland this Friday! As for Burnley, this was another miserable afternoon for them! The Clarets stay inside the Relegation Zone (in 19th), and they host Manchester City next time out!

Tottenham 2-2 Brighton

A late, late goal for Brighton and Hove Albion makes Tottenham Hotspur’s survival chances a whole lot more difficult! After Brighton somehow failed to take the lead on two different occasions, it was Tottenham who found themselves in front in the 39th minute through Pedro Porro! Xavi Simons then had an amazing chance to make it 2-0, but he could only hit the post, before Bart Verbruggen pulled off a big save to deny Porro on the rebound! Then, in the third minute of additional time at the end of the first half, Brighton made sure to head into the break on level terms thanks to a fantastic volley by Kaoru Mitoma! In the 77th minute, the Spurs fans were going crazy as Xavi Simons restored the hosts’ advantage with a fantastic long-range effort! However, in the 95th minute, heartbreak would strike as Georginio Rutter took advantage of a poor Kevin Danso mistake to rescue a point for Brighton! In the end, this feels like a killer blow for Tottenham Hotspur! Spurs stay inside the Relegation Zone (in 18th), and they head to Wolves next time out for what is an absolute must-win fixture! As for Brighton and Hove Albion, of course they didn’t win this game! The Seagulls remain 9th in the table, and they host Chelsea tonight!

Leeds 3-0 Wolves

A 3-0 thumping at the hands of Leeds United was enough for Wolverhampton Wanderers to end the Gameweek officially Relegated! Daniel Bentley made himself big to stop Dominic Calvert-Lewin from giving Leeds the lead inside 30 seconds, only for Leeds to then take the lead in the 18th minute thanks to a brilliant overhead kick by James Justin! Just 2 minutes later, Leeds’ lead doubled as Noah Okafor scored following a brilliant pass by Brenden Aaronson! In the second half, Karl Darlow pulled off a wonderful save to stop Ladislav Krejci from getting Wolves back into the game, before Rodrigo Gomes missed a great opportunity to make it 2-1! In additional time at the end of the second half, Leeds were awarded a penalty after Hugo Bueno brought down Dominic Calvert-Lewin, an opportunity that Calvert-Lewin wasn’t going to miss! Overall, Leeds United feel all but safe now! The Whites remain 15th in the table, and their next game takes place at Bournemouth tomorrow! As for Wolverhampton Wanderers, their Relegation has been a long time coming! Wolves stay bottom of the league, and they’ll host Tottenham next time out in what should be quite an atmosphere!

Manchester City 2-1 Arsenal

In the biggest game of the Premier League season, Manchester City were able to beat Arsenal to move within 3 points of the league leaders (with a game in hand)! Rayan Cherki almost gave Manchester City the lead early on; his effort deflecting off Gabriel onto the post, before Cherki gave Manchester City the lead inside 16 minutes with a truly special solo goal! However, less than 2 minutes later, Arsenal were back on level terms as Gianluigi Donnarumma gifted them a goal through Kai Havertz! What an absolute shocker from Donnarumma! In the second half, Donnarumma pulled off a big save to deny Havertz a second goal, before Eberechi Eze hit the post just moments later! Then, in the 65th minute, Man City were back in front as Erling Haaland stepped up when his team needed him the most! Gabriel then came close to equalising as his effort deflected off Nico O’Reilly and onto the post, before Gabriel really should’ve been sent off for violent conduct! These referees never fail to amaze me! And then, in the 95th minute, Kai Havertz had THE chance to equalise for Arsenal right at the death, only to miss the target completely! Overall, this is a massive win for Manchester City! City remain second in the table, but they can change that with a win against Burnley tomorrow! As for Arsenal, things are really starting to fall apart for them! The Gunners stay top of the league (for now), and they’ll host Newcastle in a must-win game next time out!

Everton 1-2 Liverpool

A ridiculously late 100th-minute winner was enough for Liverpool to earn a massive 3 points over Merseyside Rivals Everton! Giorgi Mamardashvili was forced into making a big save early on to keep Beto’s headed effort out, before Beto made an absolute mess of his second great opportunity! Everton then thought they’d taken the lead in the 27th minute through Iliman Ndiaye, only for his goal to be ruled out for offside, before Liverpool found themselves in front just moments later courtesy of Mohamed Salah! What a great goal! In the 54th minute, Everton were back on level terms as Beto finally got his goal, before Rio Ngumoha missed a great opportunity to win it late on! However, in the 100th minute of the game, Liverpool would have their winning goal thanks to Virgil van Dijk! In the end, this will hurt Everton a lot! The Toffees drop to 10th in the table, and they’ll head to West Ham next time out! As for Liverpool, this is a major win for them! The Reds remain 5th in the league, and their next game sees them host Crystal Palace this Saturday!

Newcastle 1-2 Bournemouth

After 32 minutes, it was Bournemouth who found themselves in front as Marcus Tavernier tapped the ball home from close range! Evanilson then managed to miss an absolute sitter from close range, before Djordje Petrovic was called into action right before halftime! In the 68th minute, Newcastle were back on level terms as William Osula finished really calmly! However, in the 85th minute, Bournemouth would retake the lead as Adrien Truffert was alert enough to get the ball into the back of the hosts’ net! Newcastle then had a pair of chances to equalise in stoppage time, but neither Bruno Guimaraes nor Dan Burn were able to take them! In the end, it’s yet another defeat for Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United! The Magpies stay 14th in the table, and they’ll head to Arsenal next time out! As for AFC Bournemouth, they’re right in the fight for European Football! The Cherries rise to 8th in the league, and their next game is at home against Leeds tomorrow!

Chelsea 0-1 Manchester United

A big 3 points for Manchester United leaves Chelsea distant from the Champions League positions! Estevao came super close to giving Chelsea the lead early on; his effort flicked the outside of the post, whilst Enzo Fernandez missed a great opportunity to score on his return! In the 43rd minute, Manchester United found themselves in front as Matheus Cunha fired home following a really good pass by Bruno Fernandes! In the second half, Liam Delap was unlucky not to equalise as his effort came back out off the crossbar, before Wesley Fofana became the next Chelsea player to strike the woodwork! In the end, it’s another loss where Chelsea haven’t scored! The Blues stay 6th in the table, and they head to Brighton tonight for what feels like a must-win game! As for Manchester United, this is a really important win for them! United remain third in the league, and they’ll host Brentford next time out!

Crystal Palace 0-0 West Ham

Brennan Johnson had a good chance to give Crystal Palace the lead early on, but he poorly guided his headed effort well off target, before Johnson came a lot closer with his next attempt! Maxence Lacroix was then there to stop Valentin Castellanos’ effort from finding the back of the net, before Dean Henderson pulled off a pretty good save to deny Konstantinos Mavropanos! In the second half, Ismaila Sarr was able to get the ball into the back of the net for Crystal Palace, but his potential match-winner was rightly ruled out for offside! In the end, Crystal Palace didn’t do nearly enough to win this game! The Eagles stay 13th in the league, and they’ll head to Liverpool next time out! As for West Ham United, every point counts right now! The Hammers remain 17th in the table, and their next game sees them host Everton this Saturday!

Brentford 0-0 Fulham

Igor Thiago came close to giving Brentford the lead early on, before Keane Lewis-Potter failed to keep his effort down just before halftime! In the second half, Mikkel Damsgaard missed a decent opportunity to make it 1-0, whilst Nathan Collins was another Brentford player who failed to hit the target from close range! Harry Wilson then had Fulham’s best chance of the game, only to make a mess of it, before Bernd Leno made a brilliant save late on to deny Dango Ouattara! Oh, and Nathan Collins then decided to miss another great chance! In the end, how have Brentford not won this game?! The Bees stay 7th in the league, and their next game is away at Manchester United next Monday Night! As for Fulham, they’re still hanging on to the European fight! The Cottagers remain 12th in the table, and they’ll host Aston Villa next time out!
