Crystal Palace 3-3 Bournemouth

Two of the best teams in the league produced a six-goal thriller which included a hat-trick for Crystal Palace’s star man (which denied AFC Bournemouth all 3 points)! After just 7 minutes, it was Bournemouth who already had the lead through Eli Junior Kroupi, and in the 38th minute, Kroupi added a second! The clearance by Marc Guehi here is so poor! In the 64th minute, Crystal Palace had a goal back through Jean-Philippe Mateta, and just 5 minutes later, Mateta equalised to make it 2-2! Ismaila Sarr then missed a great chance to give Palace the lead, before in the 89th minute, Bournemouth thought they’d snatched it through Ryan Christie! However, after the referee gave a penalty after Guehi was fouled inside the box, Jean-Philippe Mateta stepped up and scored to complete an amazing hat-trick! However, it could’ve been more for Mateta, as the Frenchman missed a sitter right at the death! In the end, what a crazy turn of emotions for Crystal Palace! The Eagles drop to 8th in the table, and they will host AEK Larnaca in the Conference League on Thursday Night, before they head to Arsenal for a huge league clash! As for AFC Bournemouth, they will be so disappointed with themselves that they let their lead slip not once, but twice! The Cherries rise to third in the league (however), and they host Nottingham Forest next time out!

Nottingham Forest 0-3 Chelsea

Chelsea breezed past Nottingham Forest as Ange Postecoglou received the sack just 39 days into his tenure! After a poor bit of passing at the back, Morgan Gibbs-White had a good opportunity which he failed to take, before Gibbs-White failed to get his next effort on target! Just 4 minutes into the second half, Chelsea punished Forest for their wastefulness as Josh Acheampong headed home well! It then only took 3 minutes for Chelsea to get a second through Pedro Neto, but I have to say, Matz Sels should do an awful lot better here! Neco Williams then had a great chance to score, but he poorly blasted well over the bar, before Igor Jesus managed to strike both posts without finding the back of the net! Eventually, Chelsea were able to add a third courtesy of Reece James, before Malo Gusto got himself sent off (for a second yellow card)! In the end, it’s all over for Ange Postecoglou as Nottingham Forest’s Manager! Forest drop into the Relegation Zone (in 18th), and they have a big week against both FC Porto and Bournemouth! As for Chelsea, this was a well-executed victory! The Blues rise to 5th in the league, and they host Ajax and Sunderland in the next 5 days!

Liverpool 1-2 Manchester United

Liverpool’s horrendous form continued as Manchester United picked up their biggest win in the Ruben Amorim era! After just 62 seconds, Manchester United had the lead as Bryan Mbeumo finished expertly! There was a lot of controversy surrounding this goal after Alexis Mac Allister went down with a head injury, but the referee decided to let the game keep rolling! Cody Gakpo then came close as his effort fired back off the post, before Bruno Fernandes struck the post at the other end! Senne Lammens then pulled out a big save to keep Alexander Isak’s effort out, before Gakpo struck the post again early in the second half! Finally, in the 78th minute, Cody Gakpo would get his goal to draw the game back on level terms, but then, in the 84th minute, Harry Maguire headed home to send the Manchester United fans into raptures! Wouldn’t you know it, Gakpo had another great chance to score, but he somehow managed to guide his headed effort wide of the target! I cannot believe he missed here! In the end, it’s now 4-straight defeats for Liverpool, that’s insane! The Reds drop to 4th in the league, and they have a huge week incoming away at both Frankfurt and Brentford! As for Manchester United, this is a massive win for them! United rise to 9th in the table, and they host Brighton next time out!

Tottenham 1-2 Aston Villa

Aston Villa kept their brilliant run of form going with a comeback win at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium! After just 5 minutes, Tottenham already had the lead as Rodrigo Bentancur’s effort found the back of the net via a deflection off Amadou Onana! However, in the 37th minute, Aston Villa were back on level terms thanks to a ferocious strike by Morgan Rogers! In the second half, Wilson Odobert had a good opportunity to score, but his effort was blocked well by Ezri Konsa, before Emiliano Martinez made a good save to deny Joao Palhinha! And then, in the 77th minute, Villa had their winning goal as Emi Buendia finished off what was a really great team move! In the end, it’s disappointment for Tottenham Hotspur! Spurs drop to 6th in the league, and they face upcoming away trips to Monaco and Everton! As for Aston Villa, they’re on a roll right now! Villa now find themselves in 11th place, and they will face the Go Ahead Eagles on Thursday Night, before they host Manchester City in what is a blockbuster Super Sunday clash!

Brighton 2-1 Newcastle

Bruno Guimaraes had a decent chance to give Newcastle the lead early on, but he failed to hit the target before Brighton had the lead in the 41st minute courtesy of Danny Welbeck! Newcastle then came close to equalising as Bart Verbruggen pulled out a decent save, but just a minute later, Newcastle did have their equaliser thanks to a clever finish by Nick Woltemade! But then, in the 84th minute, it was Brighton who managed to take the lead back as Welbeck scored again to earn the hosts all 3 points! Overall, this is better from Brighton and Hove Albion! The Seagulls now find themselves in 10th place, and they head to Manchester United next time out! As for Newcastle United, it’s more dropped points for them! The Magpies drop to 14th in the table, and they host Benfica tonight before they face Fulham on Saturday!

Manchester City 2-0 Everton

More goals for Erling Haaland earned Manchester City a good win over Everton! Beto had a great chance to give Everton the lead early on, but he failed to connect with the ball properly, before Jake O’Brien nearly scored an own goal, heading the ball onto his own crossbar! Jeremy Doku then had a good chance to put Manchester City in front, but he poorly struck his effort straight at Jordan Pickford (with very little power), before Man City finally had the lead in the 58th minute thanks to a great header by Erling Haaland! Everton were then asking for a penalty after the ball struck the arm of Bernardo Silva, but nothing was given, before Haaland added a second in the 63rd minute! Overall, Manchester City got the job done here! City rise to second in the league, and they have a big week away at both Villarreal and Aston Villa! As for Everton, they missed some chances here! The Toffees drop to 12th in the table, and they host Tottenham next time out!

Burnley 2-0 Leeds

Burnley picked up a crucial victory over Leeds United to move outside of the Relegation Zone! After 18 minutes, Burnley had the lead as Lesley Ugochukwu headed home after a brilliant ball in from Kyle Walker! Brenden Aaronson then had a great chance to equalise for Leeds almost straight away, but his effort was somehow saved onto the post by Martin Dubravka! He has to score here! In the second half, Jack Harrison had a decent chance to equalise, but his effort went bouncing over the bar, before Loum Tchaouna scored an absolute screamer to double Burnley’s lead! You have to go and watch this goal, it’s insane! Jayden Bogle then managed to somehow put the ball over the bar from about 2 yards out, and I have to say, I can’t believe that Leeds didn’t score in this game with the chances they created! Overall, it’s a much-needed 3 points for Burnley! The Clarets rise to 17th in the table, and their next game is an absolutely crucial game as they head to Wolves! As for Leeds United, they simply weren’t good enough here! The Whites drop to 16th in the league, and they host West Ham United in a big Friday Night Football matchup next time out!

West Ham 0-2 Brentford

Brentford picked up a great away win as West Ham United’s troubles show no signs of stopping! Igor Thiago had a great chance to give Brentford the lead early on, but he could only guide the ball onto the crossbar from close range, before Thiago would get his goal to give Brentford the lead just before half-time! Thiago then thought he’d scored a second in additional time, but his goal was ruled out for a tight offside (that nobody was appealing for)! In the second half, Kevin Schade had a great chance to score, but he too could only hit the crossbar, before in the 94th minute, Mathias Jensen finished things off with a well-placed finish! In the end, it’s another terrible defeat for West Ham United! The Hammers remain inside the Relegation Zone (in 19th), and they head to Leeds next for a massive Friday Night Football! As for Brentford, this is a great win for them! The Bees rise to 13th in the table, and they host Liverpool next time out!

Sunderland 2-0 Wolves

After just 16 minutes, Sunderland had the lead through Nordi Mukiele! Now, this was a well-worked team goal, but I do think Sam Johnstone should’ve done better to keep this one out! Trai Hume then had a great chance to make it 2-0, but he somehow headed onto the post from just a couple of yards out, before Joao Gomes dragged his effort well wide of the target! Both teams then had some decent chances to score each, and I have to say, Jackson Tchatchoua’s finish was absolutely diabolical! And then, in the 92nd minute, Sunderland had all 3 points secured as Ladislav Krejci scored a pretty impressive own goal! Overall, it’s another win for Sunderland AFC! The Black Cats rise to 7th in the table, and they head to Chelsea next time out! As for Wolverhampton Wanderers, it’s yet another game without a win for them! Wolves remain bottom of the league, and their next game at home to Burnley is absolutely crucial!

Fulham 0-1 Arsenal

After both teams came somewhat close to taking the lead, the deadlock was finally broken in the 58th minute as Leandro Trossard tapped home from close range! Bukayo Saka then forced Bernd Leno into making a decent save, before Arsenal were awarded a penalty after Saka went down inside the box! However, VAR decided to overturn this decision, with Kevin clearly getting the ball first! In the end, Fulham simply didn’t create enough good opportunities to get something from this game! The Cottagers now find themselves 15th in the table, and they head to Newcastle next time out! As for Arsenal, this is a positive win for them! The Gunners remain top of the league, and they have a massive game against Atletico Madrid tonight, followed by another huge game at home to Crystal Palace!
