Fulham 2-3 Crystal Palace
Fulham’s difficult start to the season continued as Crystal Palace picked up their first-ever victory under Pierre Sage! After just 11 minutes, Fulham already found themselves in front as Josh King’s effort took a helpful deflection off Jaydee Canvot! Daichi Kamada then had his equalising goal ruled out for offside, before Dean Henderson made a great save to keep Timothy Castagne’s effort out! In the 35th minute, Crystal Palace would find themselves back on level terms through Tyrick Mitchell, although Fulham’s lead would be restored just 7 minutes later as Cesar Palacios finished off on the rebound! In the 54th minute, it was 2-2 as Mitchell scored again, but this ultimately has to go down as an absolute mess from Fulham defensively! Oscar Bobb then forced a save out of Henderson, before Palace found their winning goal as Ben Chilwell scored on his return to the club! In the end, that’s now 3 losses from 3 for Fulham and Alvaro Arbeloa! The Cottagers drop into the Relegation Zone (in 19th), and they’ll head to Liverpool next time out! As for Crystal Palace, this is a massive win for them! The Eagles rise to 13th in the table, and they’ll take on Middlesbrough in the Carabao Cup tomorrow before they host Ipswich in another important Premier League meeting!
Everton 2-2 Manchester United
More late drama involving Everton denied Manchester United a much-needed 3 points! Bruno Fernandes struck the crossbar early on, whilst Thierno Barry headed a good opportunity over the bar! Less than 60 seconds into the second half, it was Manchester United who found themselves in front as Bryan Mbeumo finished well! James Tarkowski would then pull off a terrific tackle to stop Matheus Cunha from making it 2-0, before Tyrique George equalised emphatically in the 83rd minute! However, in the 88th minute, Man United would find themselves back in front as Jordan Pickford was unable to keep Benjamin Sesko’s effort out! But then, in the 96th minute, Everton would have the last laugh as Ainsley Maitland-Niles capped off his debut with a wonder strike to rescue a point for the hosts! In the end, Everton’s unbeaten start to the season continues! The Toffees drop to 8th in the league, and they’ll head to Tottenham next time out! As for Manchester United, them not winning this game feels very harsh! United drop to 11th in the table, and they’ll host Sabah FK in their opening Champions League game of the season on Thursday, before a home derby against Manchester City!
Newcastle 2-2 Bournemouth
Another late goal cost AFC Bournemouth as Newcastle United’s unbeaten start under Matthias Jaissle remains! After just 9 minutes, Bournemouth already found themselves in front through Marcus Tavernier! Evanilson then made a mess of a golden opportunity to make it 2-0, before Bournemouth’s lead was doubled in the 35th minute thanks to a Malick Thiaw own goal! However, just 2 minutes later, Newcastle had one back courtesy of a great finish by Harvey Barnes, before Joe Willock headed a good second-half opportunity wide of the post! But then, in the 88th minute, Newcastle would have their equalising goal as Jacob Ramsey rescued a point! In the end, a point from 2-0 down isn’t half bad as far as Newcastle United are concerned! The Magpies now find themselves 7th in the league, and their upcoming week sees them play away at both Millwall and Leeds! As for AFC Bournemouth, they can’t keep doing this! The Cherries drop to 15th in the table, and they’re set to take on Lincoln in the Carabao Cup tomorrow ahead of an important league meeting with Brentford!
Arsenal 2-1 Chelsea
Arsenal came from behind to hand Xabi Alonso his first defeat in charge of Chelsea! After just 77 seconds, Chelsea already found themselves in front as Morgan Rogers volleyed the ball home! Riccardo Calafiori then thought he’d equalised for Arsenal, but his goal was rightly ruled out for offside, before Arsenal would get themselves back on level terms through Kai Havertz! Emi Martinez has to do better here! Just before halftime, Chelsea came close to retaking the lead as Pedro Neto struck the post, before Arsenal found themselves in front 5 minutes into the second half courtesy of Martin Odegaard! Martinez was then needed to make a good save to stop Bukayo Saka from making it 3-1, before David Raya pulled off a wonderful save to deny Estevao late on! Overall, Arsenal’s perfect start to the season continues! The Gunners remain second in the league, and they’re set to play away at both Napoli and Sunderland over the next week! As for Chelsea, they just didn’t do another to avoid losing this game! The Blues stay 4th in the table, and they’re taking on Leeds in the Carabao Cup tomorrow ahead of a visit from Hull on Saturday!
Ipswich 0-2 Liverpool
Andoni Iraola finally picked up his first victory as Liverpool Manager over newly-promoted Ipswich Town! After just 6 minutes, Liverpool already found themselves in front as Alexander Isak fired the ball into the back of the net! Honestly, Kjell Scherpen probably should’ve done a better job of keeping this one out! Just 3 minutes later, it was 2-0 to Liverpool, as Isak scored again! Once again, what was the goalkeeper doing?! In the second half, Jeremy Jacquet somehow managed to get away with not being shown a second yellow card, whilst Ipswich’s best opportunity saw Jack Clarke’s effort deflect just wide! In the end, Ipswich Town were absolutely useless here! The Tractor Boys drop to 14th in the table, and they’ll head to Crystal Palace for an important game next time out! As for Liverpool, Iraola needed this result! The Reds rise to 6th in the league, and they’ll play Atletico Madrid in the Champions League on Wednesday ahead of a home league game against Fulham!
Brentford 1-1 Sunderland
After just 7 minutes, Sunderland thought they’d found themselves in front through Daniel Ballard, only for his goal to be ruled out for offside during the build-up! Enzo Le Fee would then smash the post, before Jannik Schuster made a key block to deny Thomas Meunier! Brian Brobbey then managed to block his own teammate’s effort in brilliant fashion (literally cost Noah Sadiki a goal), before Brentford were then the ones who found themselves in front in the 57th minute through Vitaly Janelt! Jaidon Anthony then thought he’d added a second for Brentford, but his goal was ruled out for a foul on the goalkeeper, before Sunderland were awarded a penalty after Keane Lewis-Potter brought down Wilson Isidor! Enzo Le Fee would then step up and score to earn a point for Sunderland! In the end, Brentford will be fuming with themselves for throwing the win away! The Bees remain 5th in the league, and they’ll head to Bournemouth next time out! As for Sunderland AFC, they missed so many chances to win this game, although a point is still a decent result! The Black Cats drop to 12th in the table, and their next week sees them play host to both Hull (Carabao Cup) and Arsenal (Premier League)!
Brighton 1-1 Leeds
After just 15 minutes, it was Leeds who found themselves in front as Jayden Bogle found the back of the net after a great piece of thinking by Ao Tanaka! Lewis Dunk then needed to pull off a big goal-saving block to stop Dominic Calvert-Lewin from making it 2-0, before Tanaka struck the crossbar! In the second half, Bart Verbruggen made a big save to deny Anton Stach, before Pascal Gross’ effort was saved well by James Trafford! But then, in the 71st minute, Brighton would get their equalising goal courtesy of Luka Vuskovic, before Gross missed a great opportunity to snatch a winner late on! In the end, Brighton and Hove Albion nearly nicked this! The Seagulls drop to 10th place, and they’ll head to Coventry next time out! As for Leeds United, they wasted far too many opportunities! The Whites now find themselves 9th in the league, and they’ll head to Stamford Bridge to take on Chelsea in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday, before they host Newcastle next Monday!
Manchester City 1-0 Coventry
One goal was all that was needed for Manchester City to remain perfect at the expense of Coventry City! After Gianluigi Donnarumma nearly scored a shambolic own goal, Taiwo Awoniyi missed a good opportunity to put Coventry in front early on! Rayan Cherki was then unlucky as his effort came back out off the post, before Manchester City would find themselves in front after 25 minutes through Erling Haaland! What a brilliant cross by Antoine Semenyo! Haaland then had a good chance to make it 2-0, but his effort was saved by Carl Rushworth, before Haaland’s second-half goal was ruled out for offside! Phil Foden then wasted a great opportunity to seal all 3 points for Man City, before Donnarumma made a massive save to deny Ellis Simms a late equaliser! Overall, it’s 3 wins out of 3 for Manchester City, but they were less than convincing! City remain top of the league, however, and their upcoming week is a big one as they’re set for away trips to both FC Porto and Manchester United! As for Coventry City, they still can’t find the back of the net! The Sky Blues now find themselves bottom of the league, and they’ll host Brighton next time out!
Nottingham Forest 0-0 Tottenham
Both Nottingham Forest and Tottenham Hotspur remain winless after a tense goalless draw! Omar Marmoush found himself in on goal early on, but he poorly missed the target completely, before Antonin Kinsky made a good save to keep Morgan Gibbs-White’s effort out! In the second half, Micky van de Ven missed a good chance from just a couple of yards out, before Forest would find themselves in front through Neco Williams! However, the goal would be ruled out for handball, which is certainly an interesting call! Marmoush then made a mess of another good opportunity to put Spurs in front, before Dominic Solanke headed over! In the end, Nottingham Forest’s winless start under Oliver Glasner continues! Forest drop to 16th in the table, and their next game is a pretty important one away at Aston Villa! As for Tottenham Hotspur, they’re still without a goal (in the league) this season! Spurs stay inside the Relegation Zone (now in 18th), and they’ll host Everton next time out!
Hull 0-0 Aston Villa
Nicolas Jackson wasted a good opportunity to give Aston Villa the lead early on, whilst Ross Barkley should’ve put Villa in front! In the second half, John McGinn made a mess of a really great chance to score, before Emi Buendia blasted the ball over the bar! What a waste from all four men! Mohamed Belloumi then came close to creating a little bit of magic; his effort came back out off the crossbar, before Oli McBurnie failed to win it for Hull at the end! In the end, it’s 3 clean sheets out of 3 for Hull City! The Tigers remain third in the league, and their next week features away trips to Sunderland (in the Cup) and Chelsea (in the League)! As for Aston Villa, how have they not won this game?! Villa now find themselves outside of the Relegation Zone (in 17th), however, and their next two games are important ones against both Club Brugge and Nottingham Forest!
