The final single round weekend of the season for Formula E took place in the scorching heat of Jakarta!

Winner: Dan Ticktum

After 60 E-Prix’s, Dan Ticktum can finally say that he is a winner in ABB FIA Formula E! Dan did well in Qualifying and got a great start to gain another place, but it was ultimately staying calm that helped him achieve success! See, after the leaders took each other out, and Edoardo Mortara couldn’t use his Attack Mode to full advantage with the Full Course Yellow being out, Ticktum was able to ride his luck and come home a fantastic first, a result no one was expecting! Sometimes, you need a bit of luck to achieve success, and given the cars that Dan Ticktum has had to drive since joining FE, I’d say he earned some luck!
Loser: Jake Dennis

Speaking of someone who has no luck, things couldn’t have gone much more south for Jake Dennis! Qualifying was perfect, Jake took Pole Position at a track he’s never qualified lower than the front row on! In the Race, Dennis led from the front for most of it, something you don’t usually see much in Formula E, and it was looking very good until Nyck de Vries decided to swipe across him on the main straight, resulting in major front wing damage! Now, in fairness, Jake was able to keep going and looked like he was still the one on to win the Race, but another issue, this time following the ending of a Full Course Yellow, meant the Brit finished out of the points completely! Instead of leaving the weekend 5th in the Championship, Jake Dennis leaves it 10th, and I honestly don’t think I need to say anymore!
Winners: Cupra Kiro
Whilst we’ve already spoken about Dan Ticktum’s win, I think the bigger thing to talk about is Cupra Kiro themselves! See, this team has gone under many different names during their time in Formula E, from NIO 333 to ERT, and yet their only ever wins came in Season 1, 10 years ago, when they were known as China Racing! Since then, this is a team that’s been consistently at the back, one of, if not the worst team on the entire Grid, and yet they are now winners again! Fair play to the Forest Road Company because since they acquired this team heading into Season 11, the positive signs have been far greater!
Losers: Stellantis
I never go for a single powertrain when I do this list, but I think it’s fitting here! Firstly, you have Maserati MSG Racing, they had an absolute torrid time, with both Jake Hughes and Stoffel Vandoorne retiring due to technical failures! You then have DS Penske, who saw Maximilian Gunther also retire from the E-Prix whilst Jean-Eric Vergne could only manage 16th! It really doesn’t get much worse than that for Stellantis, this was an absolute shocker!
Winner: Edoardo Mortara

Whilst he had to wait a while, Edoardo Mortara could finally celebrate being on a Formula E Podium again! It’s not been easy for Edo after he missed out on the World Title in both Season 7 and 8, Seasons 9 and 10 were pretty poor, but there has at least been some more positives results in Season 11! However, yesterday’s drive was classic Mortara, he stayed out of trouble, had great pace throughout, and came home in a great P2! A bit more luck and Edo Mortara probably would’ve won this Race, but he’ll take second for now!
Loser: Nyck de Vries
From one Mahindra Racing driver to another, things really went downhill for Nyck de Vries! Nyck had a super strong Qualifying to line up on the Grid in third, and he got up to second straight away at the start! De Vries then continued to sit behind Jake Dennis for most of the Race, until he finally took the lead, only to swipe across at Dennis’ Andretti, causing a big amount of contact! This meant de Vries received a 10-second time penalty which all but took him out of the win and Podium contention, but things then got even worse as the Dutchman’s car gave way, resulting in an early retirement! This was so disappointing for Nyck de Vries because a big result was on!
Winner: Nico Muller

Another driver that took advantage of his teammates woes was Nico Muller, and fair play to him for it! Nico Muller has struggled since joining Andretti, a team that has history of struggling to have two strong drivers (the Red Bull of Formula E), but there were at least positives signs in Shanghai! Fast forward a few weeks, and Nico had good pace throughout the Race, running in the points, but some chaos late on with his teammate, a Full Course Yellow, and just massive unpredictability meant Muller was able to come home third, taking his first Podium for Andretti! This is also Nico Muller’s first Podium since Valencia 2021, another Race that was incredibly chaotic!
