For the first time ever, we got two Races in Monaco as a double-header took place around the Principality!

Winner: Oliver Rowland

What can’t Oliver Rowland do right now? Like seriously, he is on a roll! Oliver kept calm and made the overtakes back to take a fantastic win yesterday for what was his third win overall! Today, Rowland backed it up with a Pole Position followed by another P2, even though his lack of patience probably cost him the win! However, Ollie Rowland leaves the weekend with a 48-point lead in the Drivers’ Standings, and that is a mega effort that deserves an awful lot of praise!

Loser: Taylor Barnard

The crazy thing about this is Taylor Barnard took Pole Position yesterday; in brilliant fashion I might add! Taylor led for the large majority of the Race before the Pit Boost section, and he looked in control of things! However, contact late on took Barnard out of contention completely whilst in today’s E-Prix, the young McLaren driver had no pace and came home in 16th (for the second-straight day)! Taylor has lost 43 points to the Championship leader this weekend, and that is going to be tough to haul back!

Winners: Mahindra Racing

I think Mahindra Racing will leave Monaco absolutely delighted with their results this weekend! Yesterday, Nyck de Vries delivered the team’s first Podium since Mexico City 2023, over two years ago whilst Edoardo Mortara came home in P4! I mean, that’s just amazing! Whilst today didn’t go as well for the team, de Vries still managed to add another 10 points to the tally, and Mahindra now find themselves 3rd in the Teams’ Championship which is brilliant for them! Let’s see if it continues moving forward!

Losers: Lola Yamaha ABT

Whilst Miami could’ve been the turning point for Lola Yamaha ABT, evidence from this weekend suggests that the Podium they got there is probably going to be an anomaly! Lola were shocking this weekend, neither driver came close to scoring points despite running in the points for most of today’s Race, and Lucas di Grassi put himself into the wall so it’s overall a weekend to forget for the Yellow and Blue team!

Winner: Nyck de Vries

Yes, we’ve already talked about Mahindra, but I think Nyck de Vries deserves his own section! Nyck is someone that I’ve been following for a while, he was a serial winner years ago, but to say it’s been a tough couple of years would be an understatement! From the disaster that was his AlphaTauri stint to his pretty poor Season 10, things haven’t been going de Vries, but that changed a lot this weekend! Not only did Nyck score his first FE Podium since London 2022, but he also just looked right at home at the front of the field, like that’s where Nyck de Vries should be! The Dutchman leaves the weekend 5th in the Standings, and he’ll be looking to build on that in Tokyo!

Loser: Mitch Evans

What is going on with Mitch Evans? Mitch won the Season Opener in Sao Paulo, but he hasn’t scored a point since! Evans was terrible this weekend, he had no pace, and his best result was P18 yesterday! Like, this is a guy that could be a 4-time Formula E Champion in another universe, and yet he can’t get anywhere near the points, let alone the Podium! It’s actually quite crazy to witness if I’m being honest, Jaguar and Evans need to sort this out!

Winner: Sebastien Buemi

As always with Double Headers, we tend to end off with the other Race Winner! Now, yesterday was actually a pretty poor day for Sebastien Buemi as he could only manage P19, but we’re not here to talk about that! Today, in the tricky wet conditions, Seb nailed his overtakes and timing with the Attack Modes to runaway with it out front and take his first Formula E victory since 2019! I mean, that’s before I even started watching this series, which is a long time, and that’s a massive achievement for Envision too as they’ve also been on a terrible run since they became World Champions in Season 9! At the end of the day, Buemi won in Monaco, and that’s always going to be special!
