It only took two weekends for Nick Cassidy to deliver Citroen their first victory in ABB FIA Formula E! Nick Cassidy decided to pull his usual strategy of not exactly qualifying well but coming back through the field during the E-Prix itself! Nick made the moves when it counted, getting himself out front, before he held off Edoardo Mortara (who was in attack mode) to take his fourth win in five Races!

Loser: Sebastien Buemi

Oh, Sebastien Buemi, what could’ve been! Sebastien Buemi had the most ideal Qualifying to take Pole Position, meaning he should’ve been well out of trouble! However, Seb brought the trouble to himself, outbreaking himself into Turn 1 to send himself all the way from first to last! In fairness to Buemi, he then did a good job of climbing his way back into the Top 6, but it was all for naught, as he seemingly suffered a right-rear puncture! What a mess of an E-Prix for the former FE Champion!

Winner: Edoardo Mortara

Edoardo Mortara looked quick heading into the season opener in Sao Paulo, but his weekend was ruined by multiple collisions (including with his teammate at Turn 1)! Now, Edo once again qualified highly, but this time, he actually managed to survive the opening lap, before he remained at the front for pretty much the entire Race! Mortara did come close to peril when he made contact with Jake Dennis late on, but he was able to survive before Edo Mortara brought the car home in P2! That’s much better for Mahindra!

Loser: Dan Ticktum

Season 12 hasn’t started as planned at all as far as Dan Tickum is concerned! Dan qualified well once again to earn himself a Top 6 starting position, and he was looking alright in the early stages of this one! However, a multi-car collision between Cassidy, da Costa, and Gunther somehow managed to wipe out Ticktum (who was a complete innocent bystander in all of this), resulting in the Cupra Kiro driver retiring again! After 2 rounds, Dan Ticktum sits bottom of the Championship with two DNFs to his name: that’s a complete and utter disaster!

Winner: Pepe Marti

Saturday the 10th of January was one heck of a whirlwind for Pepe Marti! After his big era on his Formula E debut in Sao Paulo, Pepe Marti already knew he would be starting at the back, but that was before he received a 60-place grid penalty simply because of how much of his car needed to be fixed by the team! Because of this, Pepe started the E-Prix by receiving a 10-second stop-go penalty, only putting him further away from the pack! Now, when this happens, the driver tends to go quite slowly to bank as much energy as possible in the hope of some kind of stoppage! Amazingly, that’s exactly what happened, and Marti picked off most of the field to end the Race in P7, scoring his maiden points in Formula E (and CUPRA Kiro’s first of the season)! Never give up, eh?!

Loser: Antonio Felix da Costa

Antonio Felix da Costa looked to be a man on a mission in the early parts of the 2026 Mexico City E-Prix, climbing well up the order to put himself right in contention for the Podium positions! However, Antonio would lose multiple positions after being squeezed onto the grass at Turn 1; not a moment he’ll want to remember! And then, to make matters worse, da Costa found himself involved in a multi-car collision with Cassidy, Ticktum, and Gunther, which resulted in the Season 6 Champion retiring from the E-Prix! There was a really strong result on the cards for Antonio Felix da Costa here, but instead, it’s 0 points from 2 Races as a Jaguar TCS Racing driver!

Winner: Oliver Rowland

We ended the Sao Paulo E-Prix Winners and Losers article with Oliver Rowland, and that’s exactly what we’re doing for Mexico City, too! The development of Oliver Rowland over recent years has been phenomenal, and maybe his biggest strength is that when he’s doing well, he’s really doing well; always being around the Podium places (in a very similar way to how Jake Dennis won his World Championship in 2023)! Even though he was behind the likes of Dennis, Pascal Wehrlein, Nico Muller, and the Jaguars for most of the Race, Ollie Rowland ended up carving his way through the field to take a rather great P3: that’s now 2 Podiums from 2 for the reigning World Champion!
