Liverpool 4-1 Newcastle

Liverpool picked up their first league win of 2026 with a thumping 4-1 victory over Newcastle United! After Harvey Barnes’ smashed the post from a well-worked free-kick effort, Newcastle would have the lead in the 36th minute through Anthony Gordon! However, just 5 minutes later, Liverpool were already back on level terms through Hugo Ekitike! Then, just 2 minutes later, Liverpool were in front as Ekitike scored again with an absolutely fantastic finish! In the second half, Ekitike missed a great opportunity to complete his hat-trick, but in the 67th minute, Liverpool would have their third courtesy of Florian Wirtz! And then, in the 93rd minute, Ibrahima Konate took advantage of a poor mistake by Nick Pope to seal a great victory in front of the Kop! Overall, this is a strong win for Liverpool! The Reds remain 6th in the league, and they host Manchester City in a massive Super Sunday clash next time out! As for Newcastle United, they got picked apart yet again! The Magpies drop to 11th in the table, and they’re heading to Manchester City for a Carabao Cup tie tomorrow before they host Brentford on Saturday!
Manchester United 3-2 Fulham

After nearly throwing it away against Fulham, a 94th-minute winner allowed Michael Carrick’s perfect start as Manchester United Manager to continue! Even though VAR decided to overturn the original decision to give Manchester United a penalty, it didn’t really matter as Casemiro headed home on the resulting free-kick! In the 56th minute, Man United’s lead was doubled thanks to a brilliant finish by Matheus Cunha! Jorge Cuenca then thought he’d gotten Fulham back into the game, but his goal was ruled out for offside, a decision I find to be incredibly poor! Like seriously, what are we doing here?! Anyway, Fulham were then soon awarded a penalty after Harry Maguire wiped out Raul Jimenez, and it was Jimenez who stepped up and scored brilliantly to earn his side a way back into the game with just 5 minutes of normal time remaining! In the 91st minute, Fulham were fired back on level terms thanks to a brilliant strike by Kevin, only for Benjamin Sesko to nick a winner for United just 3 minutes later! Overall, it’s now 3 wins out of 3 for Michael Carrick! United remain 4th in the league, and their next game is another big one at home to Tottenham! As for Fulham, they’ll be so frustrated to have come out of this game as the losers! The Cottagers drop to 9th in the table, and they’ll host Everton next time out!
Chelsea 3-2 West Ham

West Ham United’s survival hopes took a major blow as Chelsea completed a massive second half comeback! After just 7 minutes, it was West Ham who found themselves in front as Jarrod Bowen’s attempted cross managed to find it’s way into the back of the Chelsea net! In the 36th minute, West Ham were 2-0 up as Crysencio Summerville continued his brilliant form by scoring for the 4th-straight game! In the 57th minute, Chelsea were finally on the scoresheet as Joao Pedro headed home after a brilliant ball in from Wesley Fofana, before Alphonse Areola pulled off a great save to deny Moises Caicedo! However, after Liam Delap struck the crossbar, Marc Cucurella was there to head home the rebound to make this game 2-all with 20 minutes still to play! Jean-Clair Todibo then had an incredible chance to win the game for West Ham, but he could only strike the post from a few yards out, before in the 92nd minute, Enzo Fernandez was able to dramatically win it for the hosts! And then, to make matters worse for West Ham, Todibo got himself sent off for violent conduct! Overall, this is an important comeback victory for Chelsea! The Blues remain 5th in the table, and they’re aiming to overcome a First Leg deficit against Arsenal in the Carabao Cup tonight, before they head to Wolves this Saturday! As for West Ham United, this feels costly! The Hammers stay inside the Relegation Zone (in 18th), and they head to Burnley for a critical Relegation 6-pointer next time out!
Leeds 0-4 Arsenal

Arsenal got back to winning ways with a 4-0 drubbing of Leeds United! After 27 minutes, Arsenal had the lead thanks to a calm headed finish by Martin Zubimendi! 11 minutes later, Arsenal’s lead was doubled as Noni Madueke scored directly from a corner after a poor piece of goalkeeping by Karl Darlow! In the 69th minute, Viktor Gyokeres was there to add a third for the visitors, before Gabriel Jesus made it 4-0 with 4 minutes left to play! In the end, this was such a poor performance by Leeds United! The Whites stay 16th in the table, and they host Nottingham Forest next time out in what feels like a major Friday Night Football! As for Arsenal, they needed this win and they got it! The Gunners remain top of the league (now by 6 points), and they’ll host both Chelsea and Sunderland this upcoming week!
Tottenham 2-2 Manchester City

A collapse from Manchester City allowed Tottenham Hotspur to help out their biggest rivals with a strong second half comeback! After just 11 minutes, Manchester City already had the lead as Rayan Cherki’s effort took a helpful deflection off Radu Dragusin! Guglielmo Vicario then managed to pull off a great save to stop Cherki from scoring again, before Man City’s lead was doubled right before halftime courtesy of Antoine Semenyo! What a start he’s having in a City shirt! In the second half, Destiny Udogie found himself with a decent chance to score, but his effort was saved well by Gianluigi Donnarumma, before Tottenham did have a way back into the game in the 53rd minute through Dominic Solanke! The more I’ve seen this, the more I’m certain that this goal shouldn’t have stood (for a foul on Marc Guehi)! And then, in the 70th minute, Spurs were back on level terms as Solanke scored again with a rather insane finish! In the end, the Tottenham Hotspur side that came out in the second half weren’t the same as the team that played in the first half! Spurs remain 14th in the table, and they head to Manchester United next time out! As for Manchester City, this game about sums up their season! City stay second in the league (now 6 points off first), and their aim tomorrow is to knock off Newcastle to reach the Carabao Cup Final before they face a massive Super Sunday test away at Liverpool!
Sunderland 3-0 Burnley

After just 9 minutes, Sunderland already found themselves in front thanks to a fortunate Axel Tuanzebe own goal! In the 32nd minute, Sunderland’s lead was doubled as Habib Diarra scored after a poor bit of goalkeeping by Martin Dubravka! All I’ve seen so far is Burnley shooting themselves in the foot! In the second half, Dubravka was able to make a decent save to keep Brian Brobbey’s effort out, before Sunderland had their third of the night thanks to a wonder strike by Chemsdine Talbi! Overall, this was a great result for Sunderland! The Black Cats rise to 8th in the league, and they’ll head to Arsenal next time out! As for Burnley, they’re so poor! The Clarets remain inside the Relegation Zone (in 19th), and their next game is an absolute must-win at home against West Ham!
Wolves 0-2 Bournemouth

After 33 minutes, it was Bournemouth who found themselves in front thanks to a brilliant strike by Eli Junior Kroupi! Jose Sa then pulled off an important save to stop Amine Adli from doubling Bournemouth’s lead, before Djordje Petrovic pulled out a massive second half save to deny Tolu Arokodare! He has to score here! Jorgen Strand Larsen then had a great chance to equalise for Wolves on the rebound, but he made a mess of his effort, before Arokodare missed another good chance from close range! Joao Gomes then came close as his headed effort came back out off the post, before down at the other end, Alex Scott scored at the start of stoppage time to seal all 3 points for the visitors! In the end, Wolverhampton Wanderers had more than enough chances to get something from this game, perhaps even win it! Wolves stay bottom of the league, and they host Chelsea next time out! As for AFC Bournemouth, they’re really starting to find some form again! The Cherries rise to 12th in the table, and they’ll take on Aston Villa in their next league fixture!
Nottingham Forest 1-1 Crystal Palace

Despite playing the entire second half with an extra player, Crystal Palace still couldn’t find a way to win against 10-man Nottingham Forest! After just 5 minutes, Nottingham Forest already found themselves in front thanks to a great goal by Morgan Gibbs-White! Then, right before halftime, Forest were down to 10-men as Neco Williams was shown a straight red card for using his hand to keep Jefferson Lerma’s headed effort out! Ismaila Sarr then stepped up and scored from the resulting penalty to send the game into the break on level terms! Amazingly, despite having a man advantage for the entire second half, Palace created literally nothing! In the end, this isn’t a bad point for Nottingham Forest given the circumstances! Forest remain 17th in the table, and their next game feels crucial away at Leeds on Friday Night! As for Crystal Palace, they’re so poor, it’s actually insane! The Eagles stay 15th in the league, and they’ll head to Brighton next time out!
Brighton 1-1 Everton

Danny Welbeck couldn’t quite manage to get the ball past Jordan Pickford early in this game, before Welbeck missed another good opportunity when he headed wide from close range! Kaoru Mitoma then had a great chance to score, but he poorly dragged his effort wide of the goal, before Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall came within a whisker of firing Everton in front early in the second half! Dewsbury-Hall then had another good chance to score, but this time his effort was saved well by Bart Verbruggen, before Brighton did finally have the lead in the 73rd minute through Pascal Gross! But then, in the 97th minute, Everton were able to get back on level terms right at the death as Beto netted on the rebound! In the end, it’s happened again for Brighton and Hove Albion! The Seagulls drop to 13th in the table, and they host major rivals Crystal Palace in their next fixture! As for Everton, this is a good point for them! The Toffees remain 10th in the league, and they’ll head to Fulham next time out for what is actually quite an important game!
Aston Villa 0-1 Brentford

Aston Villa’s Title challenge took yet another stumble as Brentford earned arguably their best victory under Keith Andrews! Tammy Abraham had a good chance to give Aston Villa the lead on his return to the club, but his effort was kept out courtesy of a really good save by Caoimhin Kelleher! Ezri Konsa then had a great chance to give Aston Villa the lead, but he poorly blasted his effort well wide, before Brentford’s day got an awful lot harder when Kevin Schade was shown a straight red card for violent conduct! However, in the additional time at the end of the first half, it was somehow Brentford who found themselves in front as Dango Ouattara smashed the ball into the roof of the net! Early in the second half, Aston Villa thought they’d gotten back on level terms through Tammy Abraham, but Abraham’s return goal was ruled out due to the ball already going out of play during the build-up! Leon Bailey then had a great chance to equalise for Villa right at the end of 90 minutes, but he poorly blasted his effort off target! In the end, this is a really poor defeat for Aston Villa! Villa stay third in the league, and they now have to win at Bournemouth this Saturday! As for Brentford, what a win this is for them! The Bees rise back to 7th in the table, and they’ll head to Newcastle next time out!
